Some Wacky Ways To Improve The Altador Cup!

by indulgences

--------

The Altador Cup is in full swing as I’m writing this article, and the players are grinding away at the games! We’re playing Yooyuball, slinging slushies, making tons of noise, and shooting Yooyus past Jelly Chia goalies!

That said, I have to admit that sometimes the games can be monotonous! We grind away at the games over and over again, levelling up in ranks, and racking up prize points, not because we particularly love maxing out Make Some Noise (401 times a day!), but because we want to reach All-Star status and have a ton of prizes at the end.

I thought it would be fun to tweak the games a bit, just to make them more interesting! Here is a list of delightful ways that TNT could improve the games, and I hope it makes you smile!

And without further ado, the best ways to improve the Altador Cup are…

     Yooyuball

     - Sometimes a player should suffer an injury (fall onto the ground, grab a knee, and scream in agony!) caused by the opposing team, and get to do a penalty kick.

     - Sometimes a commercial should happen between goals! It should be all about how Neopets is awesome and we don’t mind spending 10 hours a day on the site playing the Altador Cup.

     - If the Clockwork Yooyu explodes, all of the players caught in the blast should be taken out for the rest of the match.

     - Not only should the players be blown away by the exploding Clockwork Yooyu, but people in the stadium should also fall back and scream.

     - The Wing powerup, in addition to increasing the speed of your team, should stack. If you catch 2 of them, you float over your opponents.

     - The Goal Enlarger powerup, in addition to expanding the opponent’s goal, should stack. If you catch 2 of them, the opposing goalie falls to its knees and cries, because it can’t guard such a large net.

     - The Glove powerup, in addition to increasing your team’s size and throwing power, should also shove the opposing team out of your way. (No stolen Yooyus!)

     - The Ice powerup, in addition to freezing your opponents, should make them shiver and cry.

     - Sometimes a fan from the stands should run onto the field, screaming “I love you, (your username)!” while being chased by security.

     - Whenever the opposing team scores a goal, the people in the stadium should throw rotten tomatoes at it.

     - Each team should have a different special ability for the Yooyu! The Terror Mountain team wouldn’t get slowed down by the Snow Yooyu, the Moltara team wouldn’t drop the Fire Yooyu, etc.

     Slushie Slinger

     - Once in a while, a customer should experience brain freeze after slurping their slushie, grab their head, and scream. Bonus points for causing their agony!

     - Irate customers should sometimes throw their slushies at the server if she gets their order wrong.

     - Irate customers should ask to speak to the manager if the server gets their order wrong.

     - Irate customers should spit out their drink if the server gets their order wrong.

     - Once in a while, a customer’s thought bubble should be a double or triple group of drinks. Serve all of them, and you get a bonus.

     - Whenever the game is over, the server should yank off its apron and throw it away! It is DONE with slinging slushies!

     - The server should have the option of chugging back their slushie if they fill the cup with the wrong flavour. Chug 3 of those, and they get brain freeze, and it’s game over!

     - There should be a powerup that sorts the customers by the colour of slushie they want. For instance, green in the top row, pink in the middle row, and blue in the bottom row.

     Make Some Noise

     - The Techo Fan should sometimes experience laryngitis, and you have to click on a lozenge to bring its voice back.

     - The bonus keys should include numbers, just to make the game a little more challenging.

     - The Techo Fan should collapse and pass out when the game is over.

     - If your accuracy score deteriorates (are your fingers cramping, too???), you get a pity bonus for scoring less than 80%.

     - Once in a blue moon, the bonus keys should spell “CARPAL TUNNEL,” and you get a 1000-point bonus for typing it.

     - Once in a blue moon, the Techo Fan should have a megaphone, and your final score is multiplied by 2.

     Shootout Showdown

     - Occasionally the Jelly Chia goalie should get hit in the eye and blackout. You can shoot the Yooyu past the goalie while it’s unconscious!

     - The Jelly Chia goalie should have artificial intelligence, and block your shots depending on your throwing style (left, middle or right of the net). That way, you can surprise and outsmart it!

     - Occasionally the Jelly Chia goalie should have speech bubbles, like “There’s no such thing as Jelly World!” or “I hate Lupes!”

     - Sometimes the basic Yooyu should morph into a type used in Yooyuball, such as Clockwork, Faerie, Darigan, Snow, Fire, or Mutant.

     - Every time the Jelly Chia goalie blocks the Yooyu, the goalie should get a little more dented and squished.

     Staff Tournament

     - If you select your “dream team” and every single person matches the “best team” afterwards, you should earn 5000 bonus points.

     - If you stick to the same “dream team” every single week, you earn a small bonus for your loyalty.

     - TNT should supply a funny reason as to why a staff member suddenly shot up in points. (“Iceman now has chocolate in both hands!”)

     - TNT should supply a funny reason as to why a staff member suddenly lost a ton of points. (“SunPotato wandered away to eat curly fries!”)

     Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed reading this list! Don’t get me wrong, I love the Altador Cup whenever it rolls around, but you have to admit, grinding away at the games can get a little tedious! Why not tweak the games a little, so that we’re grinning and laughing while we play?

And for those of you who LIKE the monotony (sometimes it’s a blessing to not have to concentrate too much), I’m glad the Altador Cup suits your style! I have to admit, there are many good reasons to enjoy the simplicity of the games. Paying attention to too many factors would be stressful, I totally understand!

Thanks for reading my article, my fellow players! Stay tuned for future articles from yours truly, and have a terrific week!
