--------
It is likely you have encountered one of these pretty faeries on your Neopets journey. Neopets faeries are magical beings that can grant special powers to your pets. Each of them has their own personality and in many cases elements. Faeries have been around since the early days of Neopets. According to the news they were first introduced on January 14th 2000. I was not able to confirm which faeries became a part of the Neopets' lore that day, but I assume it was the most common faeries. Let’s discuss them now! Air Faeries: They are known for their blue wings and hair and love to fly high in the sky. Their blessings can make pets faster and more agile with movement points. There are four air faeries. Their names are Briana, Casandia, Psellia and Zaira. Earth Faeries: They have green wings and hair and love nature and animals. They can make pets stronger and more resilient by providing defence, strength and hit points. The three earth faeries are named Ilere, Illusen and Iyana. Fire Faeries: They have red wings and hair and love excitement and adventure. They can make pets stronger and more powerful. Bree, Eithne, Ember and Nuria are the names of the fire faeries found in Neopia. Be careful of the flames! Water Faeries: They have purple wings and hair and love peace and harmony. They can help pets protect themselves better by giving defence points. These peace-loving faeries are named Marina, Naia, Nereid and The Drenched. Light Faeries: They have yellow wings and hair and love wisdom and knowledge. They can make pets more level-headed and skilled. Siyana - from the wheel of Excitement - is a light faerie. Dark Faeries: They have black wings and hair and love mischief and chaos. With their blessing, your pet can receive hit points that will aid them in battle. There are quite a few dark faeries. Their names are Ariadne, Dark Faerie Sisters, Delina, Drakara, Jhudora and The Darkest Faerie. There are also some rare faeries that have unique abilities: Fyora the Faerie Queen: Fyora is the beautiful Queen of all Faeries. She is said to be the most powerful faerie alive, but she prefers to rule with kindness while rarely showing her dangerous side. She can give pets any kind of blessing they desire, but her quests are very hard to complete. Naia the Fountain Faerie: Arguably the most exciting faerie to stumble across. She will generously grant you access to the Rainbow Fountain if you turn in the correct item. Thus giving you the chance to paint your pet the colour of your choice. She’s pretty rare however, so count yourself lucky to meet her. Aethia the Battle Faerie: Aethia is the wielder of the Sword of Flame and the Sword of Ice and will fiercely defend against those who would want to harm Neopia. Her quests are quite powerful too, improving your pet's stamina, strength and defence. Basically, if you're a fan of the Battledome, she’s your girl. Aethea also runs the Faerie Weapon Shop. Baelia the Grey Faerie: We don’t know much about this faerie, except she is always gloomy and her lack of wings makes her almost completely powerless. She is the one and only faerie that has a paintbrush based on her, the Grey Paint Brush. This paintbrush will give your pet a sad look, much like the faerie. The rewards for completing her quests are a bit different. She will “borrow” a reward from one of the elemental faeries or even the Fountain Faerie. Mira the Space Faerie: The Space Faerie (name later revealed to be Mira) played a big part in taking down Dr Sloth during the Return of Dr Slot Plot. Her quests are very generous with their rewards, but they are available for premium users only. She also was a huge help with this year’s Negg Festival. The Soup Faerie: The Soup Faerie is the kind of faerie responsible for running the Soup Kitchen. if you have fewer than 3,000 Neopoints she will happily feed your pets for free. The Soup Faerie is able to tell how many Neopoints you have, so she will refuse you if you have too many Neopoints. She will sometimes visit you and grant you a quest. The rewards include levels, strength, defence and hit points. She also has a special avatar if your pet eats at the Soup Kitchen. Kaia the Shenkuu Faerie: This young faerie is from Shenkuu and was introduced on September 19, 2017, when Fyora needed her to set up her own stand at the Faerie Festival. She is also in charge of running the game Wing It. She only asks for Neocash items that are currently in your inventory and a Pink Paper Bag. In return you will get various Neocash items. Delina the Crafting Faerie: This faerie only asks for certain NC Mall items and her quests are only available during Faerie Quests events. Delina has been around since February 7th, 2011, when she was first introduced during the Faerie Quest event. Kari the Negg Faerie: She was the host of the first Festival of Neggs. If you have plain neggs, she can help you trade them for negg tokens at the Neopian Neggery. These tokens can easily be traded for special neggs that can, in turn, grant special abilities/stats to your pet. The Library Faerie: The Library Faerie (or Book Faerie in the early years) is not only responsible for looking over the vast library of Faerieland, she is also in charge of the Faerie Crossword. You can find her at the Faerieland Bookshop as well. The Tooth Faerie: The Tooth Faerie travels around Neopia and will sometimes make a stop to give Neopoints or a special Tooth Faerie avatar, in exchange for a 'lost tooth'. She is there to make sure everyone has healthy and strong teeth, even when people get annoyed by her reminders to floss. Taelia the Snow Faerie: She can be found hanging out at Terror Mountain. Veteran players might remember her from the Hannah and the Ice Caves plot where she saved Hannah from the curse laid on her by the Bringer’s Tomb. She is able to cure curses in addition to making use of alchemy and magical icy items. You can complete her quests for the chance of winning her special avatar and even stats for your pet. The Three: The Three are three malevolent spirits that had the power to influence both Lord Darigan and Lord Kass. According to The Neopedia, they live "In the swirling, darkest depths of our minds" and can easily influence anyone to choose Greed, Ambition, or Revenge over doing good. One of the three looks to be a faerie, the other two are a Gelert and a Skeith. They were introduced during the Champions of Meridell and Battle for Meridell plots. Luxinia: She is a light faerie, the newest friend to join us in Neopia. As the last remaining faerie of old Faerieland in the sky, she quickly decides to rule over it and rebuild it into what is now New Faerieland. Sadly, poor Luxinia is still trying to regain her memories from before the Fall. But she has a bright optimistic spirit and pets everywhere seem to love her! Neopets faeries are an important part of Neopian culture, as they influence many aspects of the Neopets experience such as games, events, stories, quests, shops, etc. Meeting a faerie can be a very lucky experience for the user. They bring some magic to the game and Neopets would not be the same without them. Well that’s it, that’s all the faeries we know about (so far) in Neopia! Now the next time you see one, hopefully, you are more informed than ever!
