Illusen's Quest Trophy Guide

     Serene, peaceful and wonderfully green.

     Here is my guide to completing her quests and getting that adorable high score trophy, and maybe even an avatar!

     As you enter her glade, the kind Earth Faerie is ready to give you errands that will send you running around Neopia like a mad Drackonack... I mean running to the shop wizard at full speed!

     Unlike the other faeries who give out quests, Illusen, in her mercy, allows us humble Neopians to use the Shop Wizard or even the Super Shop Wizard to find the items she requests.

     A little information about scoring; Illusen gives us exactly 1000 seconds to complete her quest, or just over 16 minutes. You will receive 1000 points just for giving her the item and therefore completing the quest, but you will also receive bonus points for every second remaining of the starting 1000. So for example, I take 60 seconds to find and give her the item, I will receive 1940 points for that level. If you're really quick or happen to have the item she wants in your inventory, you could earn close to 2000 points for that quest!

      Illusen’s Potion (Level 3 reward)

     But, before you start off to try and complete as many of her quests as you can to obtain that trophy, check the date! If it’s close to the end of the month, there is NO WAY you could catch up in score enough to get any trophy. My advice is to plan to start completing her quests at the very beginning of the month. One thing you might like to do (which, if you're not wanting to spend a whole lot of your hard-earned Neopoints on her quests then I strongly recommend) is a day or so before the end of the month, it can be up to 12 hours before midnight NST, but at least a day before just to be safe, is to start, but then FAIL one of Illusen's quests. I know, I know, you don't want to disappoint her. However after 12 hours, she will be gracious enough to give you another chance, this will reset your current quest level to Level 1.

     (You can skip this step and continue on from whichever level you are currently on, however, this can get VERY expensive! After Level 32, she starts to ask for R99 items.)

      Honey Potion (level 35 reward)

     The items that Illusen will ask you to find vary and change rarity with each quest you complete. Level 1, she will ask for an item that is only rarity 10 to 20. Level 3 she will start to ask for an item rarity 15 to 25, and so on. Very occasionally she may ask for a no-trade NeoHome item, which can be found in the NeoHome's super store.

     So, you've reset your quest level to 1, you've practised your Ctrl C - Ctrl V into the shop wizard search bar speed, you've set an alarm for 12:01 am NST on the first of the month, but wait, how many quests are you going to have to do to get that trophy!?

     Well, if you're really REALLY lucky and really REALLY fast... still at least 2!

     Trophies are awarded every night sometime after 9 pm.

     You can (and will need to) complete one of Illusen's quest's every 12 hours. If you manage to get the trophy you're going for after only doing 2 quests, well done and congratulations! However, most of us will need to complete one of her quests every 12 hours for a few days or even for a couple of weeks to get a score high enough for a trophy.

     My tip (and what I'll be doing next month to aim for the gold trophy) is to set a time that works for you, 12 hours apart, for example, 7 am and 7 pm, and aim to complete those quests as close to every 12 hours if you possibly can.

     You can stop doing quests when you get your trophy, or you can keep going, until you complete Illusen's Quest Level 20 and she will reward you with a shiny new avatar!

     Even if you are a little late starting or miss a quest or 2, make sure to keep going! Most Neopians will stop doing her quests once they get their trophy/avatar and you'll be able to catch up in score, it will just take a little longer, don't start any later than a week into the new month though, as it is very unlikely you will be able to catch up and surpass the current high scores!

     Remember, the faster you get her the item, the more points you will get for completing that quest!

     Persevere! If you fall too far behind and can't catch up, or fail a quest and get reset to level one, just try again the next month!

     This is a great activity to do together with a bunch of neofriends or as a guild! You can encourage each other, keep each other accountable, challenge each other to get the highest score or, if you're really keen, and don't mind spending the hard-earned np's, see if you can reach Illusen’s quest level 50 and win the ultimate prize, Illusen’s Staff!

Maybe shout them an Illusen Day Burger with some Illusen Ice Cream for dessert or give them a brush with Illusen’s Comb. Be sure to pay her a visit and complete a quest for her on this day for a special reward!

     Oh, and just one last tip! Jhudora and Illusen are the greatest of foes! If you choose to do one of Jhudora's quests, Illusen won’t give you one for another 12 hours!
