3 Ways to Stay Warm This Winter

by cheriipie

--------

December may be over, and with it the Advent Calendar and the Day of Giving. However, that doesn't mean we've seen the last of cold weather, chilly breezes, and the ever-present snow. So here are three great ways for you to stay warm this winter, and have fun while doing it!

1. Take a Vacation to a Hotspot

If you can afford it, why not take a quick vacation to a warm destination where you'll get to relax in the sun and forget all about the troubles of bundling up and indoor heating?

A great vacation spot, if you're looking for extra hot, would be the Lost Desert. Get lost in the sand dunes and beautiful architecture that they offer there. Maybe even try some exotic foods that can be found throughout the marketplace in Sakhmet. There is also beautiful pottery available for view and purchase, the perfect souvenir, and who knows, you might even leave with your very own Lost Desert petpet from the petpet stall! You could even visit the fabled Coltzan's Shrine in the hopes of finding something worthwhile in the sands, and while you're there take a stroll through the stunning pyramids.

If the Lost Desert is a bit too hot for you, there's nothing like the steamy weather of Krawk Island to get you comfortable this winter. You'll get to experience pirate life up close, and you can take a gander at betting at food club, or try your luck at finding some buried treasure! The Governor might even grant you a visit to his mansion.

And if those two possibilities aren't enticing enough, Mystery Island is always an option! Here you get to visit the tropical climate, relax on the beach, take a tiki tour, and sample the many different fruits they have to offer. You could go on an adventure to the Lost City of Geraptiku, or if that's too risky for you, a visit to Techo Mountain is sure to be exciting as well.

So what do you say? A vacation to these fabulously hot lands might be just what you need this wintery season.

2. Eat, Eat, and Eat!

If you can't afford to take a vacation, don't worry; there are many other ways to keep you, and most importantly your stomach, warm this winter. One of the best ways to stay warm is to stay full, so below are some excellent recommendations of where to get the best food to keep you toasty warm all winter!

There is no finer restaurant in all of Neopia than Kelp located in Maraqua. Although the depths of the ocean might be a bit chillier than what you'd like, Kelp offers first rate service and is sure to keep its restaurant at the perfect temperature to keep you warm. There you'll have your choice of the most delicious appetizers, main course, desserts, and cocktails. To really enjoy the taste of Maraqua, though, I would personally recommend the Ocean Platter along with the Triple Chocolate Shell for dessert. The best part about eating at Kelp, though, is that sometimes they even let you take leftovers home! That way you're not only warm for that day, but the following days to come as well.

Kelp can be quite pricy as well, but what if I said you could also stay warm everyday with free food? That's right, if you make your way over to Tyrannia you'll be able to get a free omelet every day! There are many different flavors to choose from, offering a wide different range of omelets, so you'll never get bored of eating the same thing everyday. A piping hot omelet is the best way to make sure your body stays warm this winter.

Make sure you stay away from all types of cold foods such as ice cream, slushies, milkshakes, and popsicles! It might make you full, but if definitely won't do anything to keep you warm. You wouldn't want to catch a cold.

3. Stay Active

If neither of those options appeals to you, another good way to stay warm is to stay active! Get lots of exercise and don't be afraid to venture outside for some fun activities, because as long as you're moving, you'll be able to stay warm and brave the cold.

If you're looking to get fit, why not try the battledome? It's a great way to hone on your skills and also make some neopoints while you're doing it. Any maybe this way, you'll be able to save up for that vacation after all! You'll also be able to burn calories, so you'll be able to eat all that food to stay warm as well. The battledome offers a variety of opponents, at different levels, for you to slowly develop your skill and to figure out what you're best at. All that exercise will also do an amazing job at keeping you warm this chilly weather.

If you're not a fan of exercising, there are lots of fun activities that you can do outside. You could go ice-skating at the rink in Terror Mountain, and even though it's in a cold environment, the movement will surely warm you up, and you'll be sweating in no time. It's a great way to spend a day with your friends, just make sure you don't eat any of that ice cream! Some other activities, while in a cold climate, that can keep you warm is a snowball fight. You wouldn't think with all that snow pelting at you that you'll be able to keep warm, but all the running around, bending down to scoop up snow, and furiously trying to dodge and hide behind forts really build up to quite a workout and I assure you, you won't stay cold for long!

All three of these trusty tips are great for enjoying the cold weather and staying warm and toasty for the winter. Any of them on their own, or even with each other will surely see you through, and before you know it, it'll be spring and then summer, where you won't have to worry about snow for another year!
