10 Colors to Paint Your Peophin on Peophin Day by sychologist
--------
While scrolling through the Neopets Popularity page, it came to my attention that the Peophin is in 24th place. That means that, in all of Neopia, only 4,167,957 Peophins have been created to this day. That might seem like a large number at first glance, but when compared to the number of created Kacheeks which stands at 17,101,661, you realize how under-appreciated the Peophin is. The Peophin is a gorgeous, elegant creature with countless customization opportunities to those that choose to create or adopt one. Everyone always turns to the Krawk, Draik, and Kacheek, but very few have considered bringing a Peophin into their Neohome. On a regular day on the boards, you see very few Peophins as an active Neopet. First seen in Neopia on the 10th Day of Awakening, 2000, the Peophin was introduced as a limited edition pet. Only 1,000 Peophins were able to be created at that time and now, years later, the Peophin is no longer seen as elusive in comparison to a Krawk or a Draik. While they are no longer a limited edition species, the Peophin is gorgeous, with a lustrous mane regardless of the color you choose. This Peophin Day, I'd like to bring awareness to the Peophin, which has been underrated for far too long. Peophin fanatics like myself would agree: everyone should own a Peophin, if not for their beautiful colors then for the unique customization opportunities, but don't take my word for it. Below are ten paint jobs that I hope will have you jumping out of your seat to create a Peophin by the end of the list. 10. Brown
The brown Peophin is probably the most understated at all. A look on Jellyneo's pet directory shows only a handful of brown Peophins, but the color itself is gorgeous. Unfortunately, "brown" is not a color that often comes to people's minds, and I will admit that I briefly forgot about brown myself, but that forgetfulness will stand no more. If you're looking for a subtle, neutral color, then brown is the way to go this Peophin Day.
9. Christmas
I bet you thought Christmas Peophins were only good on the Month of Celebrating. Well, let me be the first to tell you that Christmas Peophins are charming all throughout the year! With or without the red bow that complements their color scheme, the Christmas Peophin maintains a look of elegance at a low cost.
8. Robot
Between the platinum steel plating and red eyes that double as lasers (or so I've heard), the Robot Peophin is both a great Neopet and guard. Unfortunately, among all Peophins, the robot is rarely seen. In fact, I can't remember the last time I've seen one in all of my time on Neopets. I bet for some of you this might be your first time seeing the Robot Peophin because of how rare they are. Think of the robots! 7. White
You can't go wrong with a White Peophin. With such a simple and neutral color base, you can dress a White Peophin in just about anything! (They might not like what you put them in, though; Peophins are very uppity about their manes.) If you're looking for a simple color while still admiring the beauty of all that is the Peophin, then white is the perfect choice this Peophin Day.
6. Water
While slightly less of a rarity than the Robot Peophin, you still rarely see a Water Peophin (though that might be because you have to wonder how they don't dissolve into the water they swim in). The shades of blue complement one another wonderfully, and the mane and tail look like waves themselves. There's nothing quite like grooming a Water Peophin, though you have to be very careful when handling them.
5. Baby
Just take one look at that adorable little Peophin and tell me your heart doesn't just melt at the sight of it. Are you done "ooh"ing and "aww"ing over it yet? I'm not, either, but I must continue this article. The Baby Peophin is one of the most underrated baby pets, and with that ridiculous yet adorable head-to-hoof ratio, I find it hard to understand why.
4. Faerie
Ah, yes. The Faerie Peophin. This is by far one of the most popular colors among Peophin fanatics, and with such a gorgeous purple and pink scheme, it's easy to see why. Whether converted or unconverted, the Peophin has maintained its lovely colors and mane over the years. While I myself am susceptible to the unconverted Faerie Peophin (and not just because I own one), I have seen some amazing customizations done with the converted Faerie Peophin. At the cost of 1,500,000 neopoints for a Faerie Paint Brush, you can't go wrong with this choice.
3. Grey
There is nothing nearly as gorgeous (or as sad) as a Grey Peophin. Whether you create your own or end up lucky enough to get your hands on an unconverted Grey Peophin, the opportunity will be well worth your while. And as an additional bonus, this sad finned creature will give you an avatar. 2. Royalgirl
The Royalgirl Peophin is by far one of the most elegant species in all of Neopia. People jump at the opportunity to trade for (or adopt) a Royalgirl Peophin of their own, to the point that I never see such enthusiasm about a Peophin as I do over the Royalgirl. However, the Royalgirl Peophin deserves all of the praise it receives. With or without the flowing garments that are perfectly tailored to the Royalgirl's body, the Royalgirl Peophin is a sight to behold. The light blue body accompanied by a greyish mane creates endless customization opportunities. 1. Tyrannian
In first place we have the - yes, Tyrannian Peophin. Don't let the low cost of a Tyrannian Paint Brush fool you because whether converted or unconverted, you can't go wrong with a Tyrannian Peophin. Ryeni, my Tyrannian Peophin, has been my favorite to customize since the day I painted her. The pale brown coloring paired with dark spots makes for limitless customizing opportunities. Best of all? Look at that mane! Full and lustrous, it is by far my favorite Peophin mane. Even among the more popular colors, Tyrannian is an under-appreciated masterpiece and easy to afford for someone with a low budget. That brings us to the end of the list. While only ten Peophins have been listed here, they are my personal favorites and there are many more Peophin colors to choose from. If I haven't already sold you on creating and/or adopting a Peophin of your own, perhaps a trip to the Rainbow Pool to see all of the available colors will convince you otherwise. Let's bring the Peophin back to its former glory in Neopia.
