Dice-A-Roo and the Employment Agency

by claricerose

--------

Playing the same games day after day is a reliable but boringly predictable way to make neopoints. We all have our favourites: Kass Basher, Fashion Fever, Turmac Roll... It's not difficult to achieve scores that justify the short amount of play time needed to make a decent amount of neopoints from these games. With other games, however, one needs a little more dedication in order to gain maximum profits from them. These do pay off in the long run though, and in the present article, I will describe how to best capitalise on two such games, Dice-A-Roo and the Employment Agency.

Dice-A-Roo is a terribly simple game that everyone should play daily. It costs a measly 5 NP to play, so don't let that turn you away. Every time you throw in 5 NP, you stand the chance of winning thousands of NP in return. Admittedly, this game is a risky one: more often than not, you will lose your 5 NP, and win nothing at all. But if you persist, not only might you win the jackpot (which can run into the hundreds of thousands of NP, thanks to the 10x prize multiplier), but you will also find yourself accumulating several food items, as well as the odd bottled faerie. These food items are your key to winning the most neopoints when using the Employment Agency.

Dice-A-Roo starts awarding food items as soon as you move beyond the red and blue dice, to the green die. A single game can award a dozen food items or more, if you are lucky, but a typical game that has reached at least the green die will land you one to three food items, depending on how many times you are able to throw without losing. The yellow and silver dice also award these food items, so don't quit until you either win the jackpot or get the game over message. There are more or less 70 different food items available to be won from this game (none more recently released than in 2002, might I add), which range in value from only a couple of Neopoints, such as the Dirt Pie and the Neocrackers, to over two thousand Neopoints, like the Negg. You may be tempted to sell these food items in your shop right away when you win them, but you should consider the following option if you want to maximise your profit: throw them into your safety deposit box and, when you have accumulated enough of them, redeem them using basic jobs at the Faerieland Employment Agency!

The Faerieland Employment Agency is a somewhat less popular way to earn Neopoints, most likely because it is not as convenient and fast as some flash games. However, with your safety deposit box full of items regularly requested by the basic jobs offered, you possess an advantage over other players who will need to search the shop wizard to find the required items. In my experience, the jobs requiring food items awarded by Dice-A-Roo always offer more Neopoints than the items are worth in shops, and if you are hasty in turning in the items, you receive a bonus in addition to your base reward. You can start looking for basic jobs requiring Dice-A-Roo food items as soon as you have accumulated two or three of one item in particular, but don't worry if the items keep accumulating and you don't see any jobs requiring them, as occasionally it can take a while before a particular item is requested by the Employment Agency. You can take up to 5 jobs a day, and you can receive in compensation anywhere from a few hundred Neopoints (if you choose to redeem only cheaper items like the Dirt Pies) to several thousand (if you are able to redeem more expensive items like Strawberry and Raspberry Milkshakes, or Carrots and Bottles of Water).

This is not a Neopoint-earning method that will produce great results the first day, or even the first week. This is a long-term method which should be practiced every day for the best results. As you start out, play Dice-A-Roo every day. You have absolutely nothing to lose except a couple hundred Neopoints a day if you do not win the jackpot, but for that amount you will normally win up to a few thousands of Neopoints in food items. Dice-A-Roo also awards lottery tickets, as well as an avatar. And if all those prizes aren't enough to convince you, think of all the random events that you'll come across as you play! As you start accumulating your food items prizes, take a look at the Employment Agency and familiarise yourself with how it works. You want to be able to retrieve items from your safety deposit box rapidly, to apply for jobs and receive the highest bonuses.

Finally, here are a few tips to help you make the most of using Dice-A-Roo and the Employment Agency together to maximise your profits. I highly recommend playing Dice-A-Roo in one browser tab with your inventory open in another tab. That way, you can throw whatever items you win into your safety deposit box as you go along, keeping them safe from negative random events as well as from the Pant Devil, who appears regularly when you reach the silver die. I also recommend playing with two tabs open when you are applying for jobs from the Employment Agency. When you spot a job for which you know you possess the required items, quickly remove these from your safety deposit box before applying for the job in question. This way, the items will immediately be redeemed, adding to your base reward a full 25% more as a bonus!

So there you have it. Using the Employment Agency instead of immediately selling Dice-A-Roo prizes in user shops will allow for a greater overall profit from these two games. This method has been one of my sources for Neopoints for a few years now, and I hope that this article will help you achieve your Neopoint-saving goals!
