Neopian Vacation Guide

by catapult1718

--------

So, you’ve finally decided to take a little vacation – something a bit more exotic than the neolodge. But, the question is with all the different worlds to visit, what world should you travel to? There are so many worlds to choose from like the frozen tundra of Terror Mountain, the tropical beaches of Mystery Island or the mysterious Lost Desert! (And that’s only a small handful of them)! With all these choices, it can be hard to decide, but that’s what I am here for – to help you plan the perfect vacation!

Just listen to what I have to say and you’ll be enjoying your dream vacation in no time. So, when choosing your destination, we want to consider three things – Weather, food, and activities. After all, what’s the point of a vacation if you don’t enjoy yourself, right?

     Weather:

Ah, the weather. Neopia is home to worlds with all types of weather and terrain. If you prefer some cooler places I would suggest Terror Mountain, Kreludor, Krawk Island, or the Haunted Woods.

Travel to Terror Mountain if you want to play in some snow. Don’t be fooled by the name – there’s tons of fun to be found – that is if you don’t mind potentially fighting off the sneelzes because of the bitter cold. Plus, if you go in December, you can stop by the Advent Calendar for some cool gifts. Grab your best winter coat and enjoy a good Snowball fight or ice skating at Rink Runner. If you are feeling adventurous, why not try exploring the Ice Caves?

If you aren’t looking for something as drastically cold as Terror Mountain, hop in a space ship (or fly if you have the wings) up to Kreludor – Neopia’s very own moon! It may not be snowy up here, but I would make sure to bring your jacket still. When you get to Kreludor, try jumping around – the gravity there is different than on Neopia, so instead of walking, try bouncing everywhere. Bounce on down to the café, but be careful not to get too close to the mines. I’m not 100% sure what’s going on there, but I wouldn’t get too close. Some mean robots are guarding it.

If flying to the moon isn’t something you are interested in, you can still visit Krawk Island and hang out with the pirates! There’s always adventure to be had there, but don’t forget to bring your dubloons! Without these, you will be pretty limited in what you can do. Maybe you’ll luck out and find some rare treasures in smugglers cove. Those pirates are always trying to smuggle some treasures in.

Hey, If pirates aren’t your thing but you’re still looking for an adventure, look no further than the Haunted Woods. Perhaps a Ghost Gelert or Aisha will stop by and say hi. Visit the Deserted Fairground and spin the Wheel of Misfortune, Test your Strength, or play one of the various deserted carnival games. There’s so much to do here, but you want to be careful to stay inside at night. Who knows what Halloween Neopets are lurking in the shadows?

And if colder weather isn’t what you are looking for, I highly recommend either the Lost Desert, Tyrannia, or Mystery Island.

It may be near scorching, but you have to spend more than one day exploring all the Lost Desert has to offer. There are two bustling cities to visit after all – the city of Qasala and the city of Sakhmet. If you are feeling up to it, visit Coltzan’s shrine and see if anything happens when you approach. My friend Garry the Gelert swears that when he approached, he suddenly had Golden Shield in his inventory. I can’t say the same thing has happened to me yet, but maybe something mysterious will happen to you!

So you say the Lost Desert is a bit too hot for you? Well, come on down to Tyrannia. There’s a whole jungle of places to visit – literally. Come in and view some cave paintings or stop by the Village. If you are hungry and brave, climb up to the plateau and grab a piece of the giant omelette. Don’t forget to check out the Ticket Booth so you can attend one of the many popular concerts!

When I said somewhere warm, were you picturing somewhere with a nice beach? Maybe you wanted to play some volleyball or explore an island? Well, I’d suggest setting your sites on Mystery Island. They even have a volcano and a lost city to explore! Just make sure not to get lost in the Deserted Tomb.

     Food:

Who doesn’t love a good meal, especially while on vacation? When looking for some delicious food, I highly recommend Shenkuu, Brightvale, or Maraqua. These worlds offer some of the finest cuisines that Neopia has to offer.

Climb the northern mountains (or fly if you can) to find Shenkuu, a beautiful city perched amongst the mountaintops. Hitch a ride on one of their flying ships and make sure to stop by Culinary Concoctions and visit Chef Bonju. If you give him some food, he will use his special vessel to try making something for you. It’s still a work in progress though – most of the time the vessel just unexpectedly combusts. Still, if you want something premade, check out the exotic foods shop. You won’t find these delicious foods anywhere else!

If the mountaintops are not your forte, try visiting Brightvale. They have some of the best, juiciest fruit Neopia has to offer. Maybe you can even offer some words of wisdom to King Hagan. He is pretty smart, so good luck! Aside from the delicious fruit, Brightvale is a kingdom whose Neopets pride themselves on their intelligence. Stop by the Scrollery or the bookshop and maybe you’ll find yourself with more knowledge.

If you are looking for fine dining, a nice treat for all your hard work earning all those Neopoints, there is always the mysterious underwater city of Maraqua. Although, you’ll want to make sure to have your scuba gear ready (or just grow some gills with a Maraquan Paint Brush). You won’t make it to the city without them! Their restaurant, the Kelp, serves the finest food in all of Neopia – just make sure to have a reservation! And while you wait for your reservation, don’t forget to check out Maractite Marvels for some one of a kind battledome gear or swim through the Maraquan Ruins and try your luck at fishing in the Fishing Vortex.

     Activities:

We discussed weather and food, but what is a good vacation without some fun things to do? The best worlds for exciting adventures and games are Altador, Meridell, and Roo Island.

Altador is a land full of heroes! You can visit the great hall or stop by the archives and soak up the history of Altador. If you stop by in summer, you may even catch the Altador Cup! Make sure to cheer on your favourite team!

If you missed out on the sports festival in Altador, why not stop by Meridell? Here, you can actually play with your vegetables! Guess the Weight of the Marrow or try to count the potatoes as a Wocky throws them all over the place. There’s even a place to practice your archery skills!

If you are looking for a world full of games, look no further than Roo Island! Here you can play Dice-A-Roo with King Roo himself. Last time I played, I won some yummy food. If you stay through the night and feel up to it, you can Challenge Count Von Roo to a game of Deadly Dice! Will you gain a level or will you lose a level? You never know!

I hope all these tips help you in creating the perfect vacation! Neopia has so much to offer! Let me know what your favourite world to visit is!
