--------
Ask any Neopian, and they can rattle off a list of dailies that they try to do daily (duh!), or at least daily-ish. Amongst my Neofriends, the Forgotten Shore, with its promise of a Draik egg, is especially popular, as is Qasalan Expellibox, since it occasionally gives out NeoCash. Today, however, I want to liven up your repertoire with a few less common dailies that I've found especially lucrative or fun. By the end of this article, hopefully you will have a few new things to try! 1) Place bets at Food Club Food Club is, by far, the easiest and most lucrative activity on Neopets. Simply put, Food Club is a betting game where the odds favour the bettor (that's you!). Each day four pirates over five arenas compete to see who can eat the most. If you correctly select which pirate wins, you can win big! As in Poogle Racing, each pirate's odds determines their likelihood of winning, as well as the payout if they do. Generally speaking, better odds means a higher likelihood of winning, but a lower payout. A 2:1 pirate will win more often than a 3:1 pirate, but you will triple your bet when the 3:1 pirate wins, and only double it when the 2:1 pirate does. By combining pirates across arenas, you can increase your total winnings. If you're not good at probability, don't worry. Head on over to the Games board and you will find plenty of kind Neopians who share their bets every day. Simply input their bets- it won't take you more than a couple minutes- and watch the Neopoints roll in! A couple of caveats, though: first, the maximum bet amount is based on your account's age, so accounts younger than a year or two will usually make less than 10k of profit. For a few clicks, that's not too bad, in my opinion, but you may feel different. Second, profit is not guaranteed every day. You will bust, or lose all the money you bet, every once in a while. Take heart, though; in the long run, you will profit. Popular bettors on the Neoboards record their winnings over the year; some of them almost doubled the amount of Neopoints they bet! For a 10 year old account with a maximum bet of 7350, this adds up to 7350*10*365 = -no tags here-25 million Neopoints in one year! 2) Change your pet (and petpet) at the Lab Ray After I got the lab ray avatar, I mostly left my lab ray access untouched. It's a gamble, and I had specific pets I wanted, so why bother? However, the lab ray is now a source of inspiration! Most of my dailies are about making Neopoints, but hopefully, you'll agree that there is more to Neopets than being rich. I enjoy creating characters for my pets, some people draw, others customize, and so on! The lab ray's randomness is great to jump-start your creativity. Recently, a pet on my side account was zapped into a Halloween Eyrie. Something about the Eyrie's pitch black colour scheme really inspired me, and he's a permanent pet now. Right in time for spooky season, too! Let the lab ray shake up your Neo-life. Maybe you could draw or customize your pet every time it changes? Add it to their petpage as a visual tracker of all the changes your lab pet has experienced. 3) Find treasure at the Faerie Caverns Until a few months ago, I dismissed Faerie Caverns as expensive with rewards that are rarely worth it. Now, it's a daily. Here's how it works- you pay 400 NP to enter the caverns, then navigate either right or left for three turns until you find the treasure, or hit a dead end. Doing the math, that means you have a 1 in 8 chance of winning. Now, the treasure normally is a couple thousand NP, so you make a small profit in the long-term. However, you can occasionally win an item. One of these prizes, the Faerie Caverns Stamp, is worth 55 million to 60 million NP! Now, it's unlikely that you will win the stamp immediately, but even with smaller wins, you should make more than you spend over the course of a year. And 60 million NP- wow, that's worth it. 4) Participate in Obelisk Battles Following the Obelisk War in Y15, the Obelisk battles became a biweekly event with some fantastic rewards. Every two weeks starting Monday, three randomly-chosen factions compete for the Oracle's favour. You have until Wednesday to pick a faction, and until the end of the week to fight the other faction's AI challengers in the Battledome. The following Monday, the winning faction is announced. If your faction won, and you fought at least 10 battles (of any difficulty!), then you can pick a boon that applies for the entire week. The boons are what makes participating worth it; there's a boon for almost every interest a Neopian could have. Like to restock? Go for the Black Market Goods perk, which displays rare items in Neopian shops that only people with the perk can restock. Buy stocks every day? Pick Cheaper By the Dozen, which lets you buy stocks as low as 10NP, instead of the usual 15NP minimum. Just like money? Bank Bribery increases your bank interest rate by 3%. If you're interested in trying out Faerie Caverns, try the Cartogriphication perk, which tells you the correct path for treasure every time! Usually, if you check the Avatar Chat boards on the Wednesday of a battle, you can see which faction most people are choosing. They're likely to win. If it looks about even, go with The Sway. The boons the winning team can pick from are faction-dependent. Cartogriphication is only offered by The Order, for example. The Sway's boons are most popular, so they win the most often. Anyway, these are my suggestions! Why not give them a try, and see if these dailies (or "weekly" in the case of the Obelisk battles) work for you? Let me know if this article helped you, and, of course, good luck!
