"They walked silently in the still hours between night and day, smiling to themselves over what they had shared. No others knew this joy, and that was a special comfort on its own."

Character Introductions: Kaia
Welcome to Character Introductions! A series where I interview newly introduced characters to the site and hear what they and others have to say about them. It’s been a while since I did one, but it was worth the wait as the new character we’re interviewing today is the star of the returning Faerie Festival: Kaia, the young Faerie from Shenkuu! Little is known about Kaia, much like with many of the young Faeries. However, Kaia is no ordinary Faerie; instead of originating from Faerieland she’s a native of Shenkuu! |

"Shurb, The Cursed Aisha" by _the_spardel_queen_ Our story takes place back in the time of the Darigan War. Yes, you've heard of the great battle between King Skarl and Long Darigan, but what about those who had to pay the price of war?" the Darigan Aisha in the corner of the dark prison cell says, as he turns around with a candle in hand.
"That's right. We exist. Everyone wants to pretend that after the war, all went back to normal. Meridell citizens threw flowers in the air and everyone rejoiced. Then they went back to their normal lives." he said snarling, his eyes focused on the flame of the candle.
"We, the victims of war, exist. So, are you ready for this spooky story? I'll forewarn you, I'm known to get a little...CrAzY."
---
"Visualize a young, handsome looking Aisha. Yeah, he has a cheap-looking wig from the donation tree because he's too broke to get anything else. His life is dull, his parents were potato farmers. No- they don't play that silly 'guess the potato' game. Potatoes are for eating, what an embarrassment to people in Meridell. ANYWAYS...
That's me. tired of the boring nights and days in the farm, I joined the Meridell Army. Imagine that handsome Aisha in silver knights armor, oh yeah.
That's when I first met Loki, the Darigan Wocky. Commander to King Skarl or something or other. Thought he was so cool. WELL we became friends somewhere along the line and fought side by side in battle." he said as he rolled his eyes, his voice getting more and more manic. |
"Dance of the Dark Faeries" by vaeneficus A strange thing happens when the spirit of October settles in. It wakes a slumbering spark inside the hearts of the dark faeries. Unbeknownst to the other faeries, the shifting of the world in that enchanting time is something only a dark faerie can feel. It’s a special bond they share with the essence of all that is mystical and overflowing with magic in the world. It is a call to laugh, and dance, and rejoice.
Malina had never felt the call before. This year, the year she had finally learned to fly, would be her first. She had gone to bed that night, excitedly awaiting the coming of the new day. It happened then in the most unexpected of ways. It came to her, singing gently in a dream. The trees were swaying above her in the darkest, most shaded stretch of forest she’d ever seen. A specter appeared then, dressed in gold and red and brown, the outline of it blurred and fading into the air. It sang in the purest voice, soft like the push of a cool wind. Malina spread her arms and closed her eyes, feeling a rush of air overtake her. It swept along her wings, sending them flaring out wide. She felt her heart flutter in her chest. And when she opened her eyes, she was on her feet, staring up at the stars outside. She gazed down at her surroundings, wondering how far she had walked without being disturbed. A rustle drew her attention, and she let out a breath when another faerie stepped through the brush. "Did you hear the call as well?" Malina whispered, taking her friend excitedly by the arms. |
"Let Me Tell You A Story" by midnight_sun Oh! Hello there, stranger. Now that you’ve found my hiding spot, I guess we should talk as to why I’m here. Although maybe I should be asking why you’re here…why are you here?
Well, never you mind. I’ve been hoping to tell my story for a while now so I guess it won’t hurt to tell you. My name is Jacque Renaud. Adventurer Renaud to you! Now, I see you snickering in your little corner. You’re thinking; “What? This rather spectacularly dashing young JubJub is an adventurer?” You see my small stature and you think I can’t do it!
You all think I can’t do it! Even mother with her warm undertones, pushing me off when I wanted to go exploring in the meadow behind our house. But just you wait! I’ll show all of you!
You see, I’m lying in wait for a rather fantastic reason. And I don’t think it’ll hurt to tell you seeing as the wheel is in motion. The stage has been set! The story—ah, I’m sorry. I went off tangent there. But here it is. Behind us, not more than one hundred yards, there’s a Lutari that I’ve been following.
Eleanor, that’s her name. She may look unassuming. I mean, she sure doesn’t seem to be anyone worth following. But that’s where you’re wrong. Because a month ago, I happened to stumble into one Eleanor, or EB, as she likes to be called. Well, more like EB stumbled into me but that’s rather common when you’re a JubJub.
Now EB was in a bit of a rush, so no sooner had she tripped over me, she was quickly rushing off once again. But little did she know that in her jacket pocket, she had loose leaf of paper that was tightly folded. |

A Pound Story: Part One While the Neopian Pound looked friendly enough on the outside – one might even mistake it for a cute, but somewhat misplaced little cottage, were it not for the sign – she knew better than most what awaited within.
