11 Ways to Obtain Free Food in Neopia by purest_pink
--------
Welcome to 11 ways to obtain free food in Neopia! Listed below are some (mostly) reliable ways to feed your pets, for absolutely no NP, every single day!
1. Ye Olde Fishing Vortex You can fish once per pet, so everyone gets a turn! You aren't guaranteed to catch only fish (there are many missing shoes and kelp to be fished up, among other things) but it's a great way to find food for free. You can make a decent meal out of Breadfish and Butterfish, grill up some Blandfish, or even catch a Giant Squid and feed the whole family! The timing between each catch is random, so you can do this several times a day.
2. Giant Omelette Almost everyone knows about Tyrannia's biggest tourist attraction, the Giant Omelette. 1 omelette contains 3 servings, and they come in tons of different flavours. Carrot and Pea, Ham and Cheese, and the Spinach Feta omelette are just a few examples of what wonderful flavour combos your pet can find for free. Just remember, you can only grab 1 omelette per day!
3. Tiki Tack Tombola If you're looking to stock up on essentials and have just a bit of good luck, the Tiki Tack Tombola may be a great way to score some extra pantry points. You can win all kinds of fun foods here, including canned foods like Baked Beans or Tin of Olives, or fresh desserts like Faerie Cakes or Homemade Gooseberry Jam! You can pull a ticket once per day.
4. Fruit Machine If you're feeling really lucky, you can try spinning the Fruit Machine for a chance at a delicious Tchea Fruit, Baggus, Ummagine, Cheops, Ptolymelon, or Puntec Fruit! It's definitely not the most reliable way to feed your pets for free, but some Neopians are luckier than others! You can spin it once per day, every day, so get going!
5. Apple Bobbing Taking a trip to the scary Haunted Woods may be a bit daring, but if you can handle dipping your head in some murky apple bobbing water, I'd definitely say it's worth it. You can find all kinds of apple-y snacks here, from the small and slightly angry Crabby Apple to (somehow) a glass of Hot Apple Cider. There are also some great carnival-esque treats in there, too, like Whoot Cookies and White Chocolate Ghosts, to name a few. You can try once per day!
6. Money Tree It's no secret that the Money Tree is a valuable resource for many poor Neopians. You can find almost anything here, but there's usually at least a couple decent food items to grab, if you're quick! People often donate foods they get from dailies here, so if you're unlucky enough to have fished up your fifth boot at the Fishing Vortex, you might be able to snag a fish or two. Occasionally, particularly kind Neopians donate more expensive or rare foods- so keep an eye peeled! You can grab up to 10 items per day (including any items you've snatched from the Thrift Shoppe or Rubbish Dump!)
7. Rubbish Dump Look, no one wants to dig through the garbage for their next meal. But if you're desperate and hungry enough, a Zeenana Peel or Squished Tomato might not seem like such a bad idea. If you're good with a cooking pot, you can also find Meridell Gravy, Strange Green Seeds, and Old Croutons to add to recipes... or to eat by themselves, I guess. You can grab up to 10 items per day (including any items you've snatched from the Money Tree or Thrift Shoppe!)
8. Coltzan's Shrine I'm sure most Neopians have found themselves a dubloon or two, or maybe blessings from King Coltzan's ghost himself. But did you know he can also grant you some (sometimes burnt) food? With a bit of luck, you just might leave with a Suti Fruit, or maybe a Scorched Chomato! In addition to desert fruits, Coltzan can also leave you a Sutek Muffin or Scorched Grackle-Stuffed Turkey, among other things. You can visit the shrine about every 13 hours.
9. Kiko Pop Somewhat annoying music aside, Kiko Pop balloons contain all sorts of treasures- food included! If you're up for a challenge, you can try Standard mode (or even Super Crazy Hard mode!). If that's too difficult for you and you want a guaranteed prize, Easy & Effortless is the way to go. You won't win food every time, but you can try once each day, so it's worth a shot!
10. Grave Danger If your pet's petpet is brave enough, and you're okay with them going into a dark and very mysterious crypt in search of treasure, Grave Danger is an option. While your petpet won't always return with food, they will come back only slightly cursed and in one piece... at least, no one has seen otherwise. They might come back with a scrumptious Chocolate Cherry Bundt Cake, Organic Peanut, or even a Whole Anchovy Pizza, if you're lucky! Just make sure to thank little Sparky afterwards.
11. Lunar Temple Neopians educated in astronomy and/or lunar cycles might want to try the Lunar Temple puzzle in Shenkuu. If you guess correctly, you just might come home with some Negg Noodles, Green Tea Custard, or Moon Crunch Cereal! If you get it wrong, though, you could still win yourself a Bitten Green Apple, Orange Chicken, or some Neo Crackers. The old Gnorbu doesn't always award you with food, but you might as well try it daily, if only to keep your mind sharp! There are a couple other ways to obtain food for free, including but not limited to: random events, battling opponents in the Battledome, claiming your monthly Freebies, the Soup Kitchen, faerie quests, the Cooking Pot, et cetera. Those are not covered here because they are not accessible for all Neopians. If you're curious, though, go ahead and look them up! And that's it for this little guide. I hope you learned something new! And may your pets' stomachs be forever satisfied.
