How to Keep Your Neopets Happy

Step one to your neopet's happiness would be... toys! Toys, toys, toys. You should always have a supply of toys available for your neopet's free usage. Plushies are always a great way to surprise your pet and show them that you adore them. I also suggest you give your pet a toy that suits their personality. Such as a cheerful faerie Gnorbu would like a faerie toy rather than a Darigan toy.

Step two of this wonderful idea would be... customization! Yes. Customizing your pet makes them glad they have you as an owner. You should always customize according to the background and the weather. If you choose to make the background wintery themed, then make sure your pet is nice and warm with a hat and scarf. On your pet's birthday, I suggest giving them a makeover. That would be a very nice present.

Step three. Petpets. I would say to treat your beloved pet to a nice and smaller friend. Everyone needs someone to talk to. Your pet could share secrets with that petpet, and even take it for a quick stroll around your neohome. Don't ever forget that little bundle of joy for your lovely pet. Some nice petpets could be a Faellie, Mazzew, Harris, and even Kadoaties. They all are wonderful choices, but there are a lot more, too.

Step four. Extreme Changes. Painting a pet means many things. First, you have gathered enough neopoints to purchase a glorious paint brush for your marvelous pet. Two, you have proved that you care about your pet enough to treat them to a wonderful makeover. Three, the past is the past and the present is waiting so you can create many new memories with your newly dazzling pet. I think pets like to be painted for the joy of it. Some have always wanted to fly, in which case, Faerie would be a suitable color choice. Maraquan would be for those amazing swimmers, and Baby would be for those neopets that would like to stay young forever. Painting your pet is a great way to show you care about them.

Step five. Grooming. A clean neopet means a clean personality. Don't forget to shampoo and condition your pet's hair or mane at least once a day. Clean the paws and the hooves according to the dirt. Perfume is a neat way to keep your pet smelling nice and the odors off. Be sure to give it a toothbrush and toothpaste so the tooth faerie won't get mad! Cleanliness is a must. Keep a 'first-clean' kit handy, so you can use it right away if needed. Avoid messy roads and muddy puddles.

Step six. Beauty Contests. After your pet is nice and clean, enter him or her into the beauty contest. Make sure they are dressed well and have a nice campaign to advertise a lot. Once they win, in the acceptance speech, be sure to expect a thank you to the kind owner(which would be you) that they won all because of your efforts. Never does a little thing go unnoticed in Neopia. All neopets care about their owner's happiness, so shouldn't you care about your pet's happiness? In sending the pet to the entry booth, be sure to give them the best clothing and the most clean look to appear well put together. Include a portfolio so they get accepted quicker! Cut down on eyeshocking colors, too. Good luck!

Step seven. Schooling. Show your neopet that you care about their happiness by sending them off to school. School is a great way to make some friends and your neopet will be glad that they got the chance to learn such fun stuff such as how to play dice-a-roo. School is also a wonderful way to get your neopet off of the internet all day and give them some exercise by walking to and from school. Pack a healthy lunch for your pet, too, with some goodies of course.

Step eight. Friends. A neopet must have some friends so they can be absolutely, positively, happy. Always arrange play dates so your neopets have something to do after neoschool. Don't forget to give your neopet a healthy snack as well. Your neopet deserves good friends, so I also suggest of approving the friend before sending your pet off to some other neopet's home. Safety is a key concept in friendship, so choose the appropriate friend.

And finally, step nine. Games. Playing games with your pet shows you will take the time out of your oh-so-very hectic lives to play with your pet. It may not seem like a lot to you, but be sure, your pet appreciates it very much. Games are a fun way to earn neopoints to buy items which will spoil your pet. Don't forget to make sure your pet has a say in which game to play. Some neopets are very shy whereas some are quite bold. But you would already know what your pet's personality includes, right?
