Species Customization: Wocky

With Wocky Day being in The Month Of Celebrating, there`s no getting away from the winter and holiday-themed outfits, both of which are represented in this article. But have no fear, I`ve attempted to create varied looks, using many different wearable sets that are made for this species only.

You can use the Wildly Chic Wocky Horn together with any wig you choose, but my recommendation is Chic Wig with Diamonds. The lovely gems give you the holiday look and this wig also restricts the Wockys ruff.

I use a belt with this top due to not being a fan of the leopard print. With a simple, solidly coloured belt like green or red, you can cover up the animal print so it doesn`t clash with the rest of your look. When using the sled, putting on trousers, shoes and gloves isn`t strictly speaking needed, since those parts of the Wockys body is covered up.

This background can easily be made holiday-themed if you so desire, or you can keep it generic winter-themed like I`ve done here. The swing adds a fun, playful element to the customization and the pink stole as well as shoes and gloves helps to break up the white from the dress and snow.

Your Wocky, the great master thief has broken into the vault! I added the Undead Hunter Wocky Poncho for several reasons: It can serve as a cloak for disguising his identity, the arrows can be used as weapons and the poncho looks similar to a sack for carrying his loot. The rope as well serves as equipment.

There`s something about that stripy shirt that has a nice versatility to it. Depending on the customization at large, your Wocky could be a master thief, a prisoner, a pirate or sailor. With a little imagination, a simple clothing set can be used in a variety of ways.

For this prisoner customization, I considered adding a grey wig as a joke, but ultimately chose not to use a wig for either Thief customization as I felt the hair in addition to the mask would hide too much of his face.

This is a pretty standard, typical Little Red Riding Hood customization. I chose to use the Little Red Riding Hood Cape in place of the wig that belongs to this Wocky set in order to get the most iconic look. The freckles add a sense of childishness to the Wocky's appearance, and the contacts were used to further underline innocence and naivety. The looming shadow of Balthazar represents the cunning Lupe intercepting the girl on her way to visit her grandmother. There are also various bouquets of flowers and baskets of items (such as berries or baked goods) for you to choose from.

This is no feeble, frightened little Red Riding Hood! She is a strong, brave hunter! But what or who is she hunting? It`s up to you to decide if she`s hunting ghosts and monsters, or if she`s more of an adventurer. The Wocky Archer Cape and Wig adds both mystery and maturity to the look, and with a look at the crossbow you can instantly tell this is no little girl on her way to grandmas house.

I would recommend using outdoor/forest backgrounds with dark shadows for this look.

This clothing set is originally female, and includes a skirt. I chose a neutral look however. Males can have long hair too, and there`s nothing about this wig that makes it very feminine in my opinion. If you choose to use the skirt, you can`t wear a top or shirt at the same time, as the two wearables restrict each other. But with this look, your Wocky has the added protection of the Silver Metal Shirt, which helps to complete the armour and make their upper body look less bare. (This is particularly true when the Wockys ruff is hidden, like in this example).

The Wocky Warrior Sword is not compatible with the chosen background, but Super Gothic Wocky Sword is a decent substitute.

My favourite item here is the Adventurer Scar. It`s so striking and adds real character to your Neopet!

The long, flowing wig makes me want to put this Wocky in backgrounds that feature outdoor scenes, but most training or battle-themed backgrounds are also perfectly suited.

The Wocky Detective costume is what I like to call a "fixed" wearable set. What that means is that it lacks a real sense of versatility and the options for a suitable customization are limited. While you can certainly apply certain pieces of it to other looks (such as the pipe and the magnifying glass) when your Wocky wears the complete set, it`s hard to imagine them as anything else than a detective. But that`s my opinion, I trust Wocky owners are more creative than I am!

All that said, it`s a decent clothing set and I tried to create a nice little home for him here, where he ponders over his evidence and documents. If you want your Wocky Detective out on the streets looking for clues, try out any of the backgrounds listed above.

In combination with a face mask, backgrounds like Relaxing Spa or Fireplace Zen can be used to create a haven of relaxation for your Wocky. If you want to go the slumber party route, Slumber Celebration Background is an obvious choice, but Chariot to Dreamland is great for combining with other indoor backgrounds, like Fyoras Room Background or MME21-S3b: Aqua Crystal Room.
