10 Reasons Why Game Avatars Aren't That Bad

     However in all honesty they're not all that bad! A lot of people will say they're not good at games and can never earn these elusive avatars, but I promise that if I can earn them, anyone can!

     Bear with me and by the end of this article, I will convince you as to why you should keep working on earning all of the game avatars!

      1. They tone your hand-eye coordination!

     Like any game, you need to be able to move quickly and anticipate what is coming next. Avatar games are no different! You need to be able to focus on the task at hand and be quick with your movements. One false move could cost you your game! After a few attempts at a game, you will start to learn the movements. Eventually, they will become muscle memory and you will be able to keep your eyes on your game while moving with your hands.

     2. They show your determination!

     Before I started working on my last few game avatars, I thought I could conquer anything that came my way. Two months into trying to beat Destruct-O-Match III, I was having nightmares about boulders crushing me and losing hope that I would earn this avatar. But I persisted and finally,I can proudly say I can post on the boards with a flashy Destruct-O-Match III avatar! Persistence is key. You can't give up, no matter how frustrating it gets. You will win. Just practice! Set small goals for yourself each day you work on a game avatar. You can't expect to earn them on the first try, but stay persistent with your goals!

     3. They strengthen your memory skills!

     With so many game guides and helpful tips, it can be a lot to remember to earn the game avatars! Fret not. Focus on 1 game at a time. This way you can learn the game inside out. You know every tip, every extra life opportunity, and every bonus level that will get you to the shiny new avatar at the end of your journey! It's a lot of information to take in, however, you will find that you begin to retain every piece to the game you are working on!

     By the time you earn your avatar, you will know the game completely and can pass on your wisdom. While every little piece of information may not stick with you forever, you will still have the core memories of each game stored away for whenever you may need them again!

     4. Learning the virtue of patience!

     With avatar games, you most likely won't earn an avatar score the first time you play a new game. Or the second. And probably still not the third attempt. But if you keep at it, and keep trying to get a little better each game, you'll earn that score and avatar! Learning to be patient with the game AND YOURSELF is one of the best things about working on game avatars. One false move and you could lose your final life, thus having to start the game over. Let yourself be mad for a half second and get back in there! You can do this. Just be patient, and practice, and you'll be posting on the boards with a new avatar in no time!

     5. The friendships you make along the way!

     The Avatar Chat is full of Neopians working on game avatars that have been driving them mad, so join them! Exchange tips, and helpful suggestions, and encourage each other to keep at it! I love being on the boards while working on a new avatar. Chatting can help to break up the grind of trying to beat an avatar game. Sometimes even trying to best each other's scores can make it more fun. Who doesn't like a little friendly competition? Overall, chatting with other Neopians makes the experience of working on game avatars just that much more enjoyable!

     6. Bragging rights!

     While I sympathize with fellow Neopians who have yet to achieve certain game avatars, that doesn't stop me from loving the feeling of showing off hard-to-earn game avatars! It feels amazing to be able to post on the boards with an avatar that you worked so hard on, and can show off that you're a game master! Of course always encourage others in their quest of these games, unless you want them to set Meepits on you!

     7. The possibility of a new trophy!

     While avatar scores generally aren't the highest possible score for a game, they are pretty close! During your quest to earn that shiny new avatar, you are getting better at whatever game you are working on. This constant practice can lead to scoring high enough to earn a new trophy for your trophy cabinet! While the game avatar may be your ultimate goal, a new trophy is a nice bonus along the way!

     8. Developing your skills across the board!

     There are so many different games in Neopia. Puzzles, adventure, strategy, and even games of chance! While you are focusing on one game to earn the avatar, you are simultaneously building your skills that will assist you in other games in Neopia! These gaming techniques can help you beat other games and not only earn more trophies for your trophy cabinet but also get you closer to more game avatars!

     9. The sigh of relief once you finally achieve that daunting score!

     Half the time you are working on a new game avatar, you are trying to learn the game and memorize the best strategy. The other half of the time, you are screaming, crying, and overall frustrated trying to achieve the score that you think it unattainable. But once you pass that score, a wave of relief rushes over you. Everything else in the world stops and you can enjoy the moment of having finally beaten the game!

     10. The sense of accomplishment!

     There is no better feeling in Neopia than seeing the pop-up screen of Something Has Happened! and being rewarded with a new game avatar! All of your time, dedication, and effort is there for you to show off across all of Neopia! Well done! Show off on the boards and get started on the next game!

     In conclusion, there are a lot of benefits to working through earning all of the game avatars. I know it seems like a daunting task, but it is completely doable! Keep at these game avatars! You will get them, I promise. It may take a while, but just keep practising and you'll have them all in no time!
