Celebrating Neopia's Most Important Scientists

by vicunas

--------

Neopia is a very big place, and there are tons of Neopets that make our planet something truly special. Some are evil geniuses, while others are defenders of truth and justice. Some are timid, and others are collectors. While our heroes can be anybody, I think it’s time we give a shout out to a few scientists that makes Neopia special! Without these Neopets and faeries, we would have a lot of unanswered questions. From the clouds of Faerieland to the deserts of the Lost Desert, without any hesitation, let’s highlight some of the most invigorating minds of Neopia!

The Lab Ray Scientist - Probably the most iconic of the scientists of Neopia, in fact “Scientist” is in his name! Responsible for making strides in the paintbrush community, The Lab Ray Scientist is a Scorchio that looks like a classic mad scientist, but he’s not mad at all! TLRS helps hundreds of pets each day to find a colour and species that works best for them. Without The Lab Ray Scientist, we would not know about colours like robot, chocolate, ice, sponge, garlic, MSP and burlap. Don’t even get me started on his petpet, a kookith, who does just the same for petpets!

Their strides in the paintbrush community have brought excitement and joy into the world of Neopia, and we should be celebrating all that this duo has done for pets. At least if we’re not celebrating their work in the paintbrush field, we can at least give them a nod for helping fans of the Battledome get more gains!

Delina the Crafting Faerie - Call her what you want, but Delina is a scientist! Somebody who can take two items and make them into something different is definitely a scientist! Each dye has a certain technique, and building a piece of furniture? Well, that takes a lot of testing, hypothesis, and experimentation to get the perfect piece that’s suited for all Neopians to use! Without Delina, so many people would not be able to live in comfort or style!

With crafting down to a science (pun intended) Delina is the perfect example of an influencer scientist! With her look and designs, this faerie should be an inspiration to designers, fashionistas, and decorators. Plus she practically lives in the Neocash Mall, a haven for people all about aesthetics!

Professor Milton Clodbottle – Without Professor Clodbottle, we would know very little about petpetpets, their habitats, and their living conditions! With a magnifying glass always hovering over his glasses, Clodbottle constantly keeps watch on these tiny wonders. Who knows if we would be able to even discover P3s without Professor Milton Clodbottle! Gone are the days of finding weird little bugs in your petpets’ mouths and shrinking yourself down to a super tiny size to stop them from bothering your petpets, Clodbottle made it so we can understand these beautiful creatures!

Without this Blumaroo, we would not be able to appreciate these microscopic friends. Not to mention, his work in Habitarium has encouraged many Neopians to take up proper care for petpetpets instead of treating them like rare oddities they were once viewed as.

Ixi Scientist – Though we do not know his name, we know the Ixi Scientist has made great strides in the realm of chemistry. Best known for his work in Chemistry for Beginners, this Haunted Woods resident is no stranger to his title. Though a surly look in his eye, the Ixi Scientist has a passion for chemistry unlike no other and clearly appreciates making education accessible to all who wish to learn.

The time and dedication it takes to teach such an explosive science to young and old Neopians is commendable and should be treated as such! Thanks to this Ixi, every Neopian household knows what chemicals are stable. More importantly, we all now know that we cannot combine 4 molecules of Slothite or combine Faeryllium and Krawkite.

Altador Astronomy Club – Who is to say that we cannot honour a group of stargazing students? Astronomers not only help us remember our history but remember our place in the universe and the Altador Astronomy Club is unlike any other. Only for true lovers of the stars, the Astronomy Club is responsible for stopping Jerdana’s spell when Altador first returned to Neopia and ultimately helped save hundreds of Neopians by lending a hand in the Altador plot.

Open to all lovers of astronomy, the Altador Astronomy Club believes in making astronomy accessible to all. Upon joining the club, one gains their own telescope and a spiffy badge that you care wear with pride! Without their help in identifying the constellations of Neopia, who knows what would become of the land of Altador!

Dr. Landelbrot – Maybe one of the most controversial scientists out there, Dr. Landelbrot definitely has no shame in his work! Taking junk and making it into something exciting, you never know what you’re going to get with Dr. Landelbrot’s spaceship The Coincidence. After giving away some of your junk, Landelbrot opens up a portal and sometimes that portal reveals a trick or a treat!

A legend within the space and time community, it is rumoured that these portals used to give out avatars to lucky Neopians. However, after much shock and confusion from the rest of the community that visits his spaceship, Dr. Landelbrot has worked that issue out of his portals. For now, you can get fun prizes, cool trading cards, and even possibly petpetpets! Maybe he has a friendship with fellow scientist Professor Milton Clodbottle! With the help of Neopians everywhere, Dr. Landelbrot gets to open his portals daily and study them in a safe, but exciting way!

Who knows where we would be in Neopia without minds like these. Every day, scientists help us better Neopia with understanding, education, and excitement. Even within the past few years, our understanding of the land around us has expanded in ways that help us every. May this piece inspire Neopians young and old to be curious and inquisitive about the world around them.
