 Warm Up Your Winter with Soups and Stews!

Winter is in full swing in Neopia! When you think about the winter season, you’re probably thinking of all things fun and freezing - sledding down Terror Mountain, questing for the Snow Faerie, exploring the Ice Caves, or everyone’s favourite - collecting prizes from the Advent Calendar. You’re probably also thinking about eating some sizzling hot soups. And why not!? While soup can be enjoyed year-round, there’s something so satisfying and almost nostalgic about eating a bowl of soup in the winter. Staying hydrated during your icy outside activities is crucial, and sipping on some soup is a fun way to get that much needed hydration in. I can show your Neopets some of the finest soups to slurp up! There are many stew-pendous soups, and soup-erb stews in Neopia! Some are sizzling, some are icy, but all are delicious:  1). Illusen Chilled Summer Soup - Straight out of Meridell, this soup is cool and refreshing! Proof that not all soups have to be sizzling! A very unique concept, this chilled soup is perfect for winter lovers everywhere.  2). Flotsam Fin Soup - This soup is SO great for winter because of the aesthetic of a lovely beach theme! The Flotsam “fins” sticking out of the bowl are actually just simple tortilla chips from the Neopian Fresh Foods shop. You may be wondering, what does the beach have to do with winter? Well, Mystery Island becomes a hotspot for vacations once the temperature drops. Many Neopets will travel there in the upcoming cold months.  3). Coconut Soup - This one can be found in the Tropical Food shop on Mystery Island. Only the freshest coconuts are used in this recipe, each one hand (or paw) plucked straight from the Mystery Island palm trees that line the beaches. Rumour has it that coconut IS the flavour of the season, and no Neopet can resist. This also comes in a spicy version!  4). Marshmallow Yam Soup - If you thought yams were just for the Fall, think again. The Marshmallow Yam Soup is gooey and delicious all year round. The chunks of yams coming together with the sticky marshmallows makes for a remarkable bite. Pro tip - add a dash of cinnamon!  5). Trumpadon Soup - Tyrannia is no stranger to rising temperatures. It’s so hot, you could fry an egg (or whole giant omelette!) on the Tyrannian Plateau. That being said, Tyrannia is no stranger to serving up a nice sizzling soup. The Trumpadon Soup (based on the prehistoric Petpet!) is hot, spicy, savoury, and super slurpable!  6). Watermelon Soup - If you decide to visit Mystery Island for your winter holiday, you must pay a visit to the Cooking Pot. Here, you can conjure up a fresh Watermelon Soup using only two ingredients - a Bottle of Water and a Juicy Melon. Bring it right onto the beach when you’re done and enjoy it by the edge of the water while taking in the beautiful views.  7). Quiggle Veggie Soup - This is packed full of essential nutrients and vitamins and it is a favourite of Baby painted Neopets. This soup uses all of the healthiest and ripest veggies. You will look and feel your best after eating this.  8). Galactic Chicken Soup - Watch out! This soup defies gravity and will go flying straight out of the bowl. If you can manage to contain it, you will be able to enjoy the complex flavours straight from Kreludor. Grundos Cafe never disappoints with their otherworldly concoctions.  9). Boiling Hot Lava Soup - You’ll find this dish at Molten Morsels. Believe me - they know a thing or two about hot food! You might want to wait for this one to cool down before you indulge. Watch out for your fur, because this meal will singe and burn (but in all the best ways, I promise). Some say this soup is made with real magma, but I cannot confirm if that is accurate. Seems plausible though!  10). Cheery Tomato Soup Bowl - Hot and fresh and served up with a smile - nothing beats that! If your Neopet is depressed, reach for a bowl of this Cheery Tomato Soup Bowl to perk them right back up. The tomatoes are puréed and easy to digest for sensitive bellies. My best advice is to grab some Grilled Cheese Soup Dippers to pair with this meal.  11). Chocolate Soup - Okay - yum! Warm, rich, melted chocolate from the Chocolate Factory is just what your pet needs. This soup is so decadent, it makes for a delicious and indulgent dessert.  12). Cream of Tchea Soup - So you’ve heard of Tchea Fruit, now you can sample Cream of Tchea Soup! This tasty soup is made from all organic Tchea Fruits! Just blend up a handful of the Tchea Fruits and it’s ready to serve. You’ve never had a fruit soup like this before.  13). Misty Shenkuu Mountain Soup - Only found in the Exotic Foods shop, this soup is a winter staple. The mist that rises out of the bowl is super steamy and refreshing at the same time. One scoop will have you shouting from the mountain tops about how good it is!  14). Chomby Day Potato Soup - It doesn’t matter that Chomby Day is in March, your pets will devour this soup any month of the year. Winter is the perfect time to chow down on some piping hot potatoes.  15). Cucumber and Onion Soup - A strange combination, but yet so good together. The cooling effect of the cucumbers mixed with the pungent taste of the onions will pack quite the punch in every spoonful. So, what’s your favourite winter activity? Visiting the Snowager? Browsing at the Super Happy Icy Fun Snow Shop? Snagging a good deal at the Igloo Garage Sale? All of these are great, but why not add some soup-slurping to your icy agenda?!
