Tyrannian Concert Hall: Who's Playing? Part 2I spent last week chronicling eight of the bands that plays throughout the month at the Tyrannian Concert Hall. This week I will be picking up where we left off! In case you didn't have a chance to read that issue, here is a quick recap. The Tyrannian Concert Hall is a place in one of Neopia's oldest lands, it is a gorgeous stone amphitheater with amazing acoustics and a plethora of seating. Some estimates say they can sell upwards of 14,000 tickets per DAY. Different bands are assigned different days and performed throughout the day, so you don't have to worry about being available for a certain time slot. The bands spread a wide range of music and have something for every genre, so if you are planning a vacation you can use this guide to see who are playing what dates so you know when the best time to visit is. It all functions on the same schedule every month. Here is a reminder of who we talked about last week: Twisted Roses Plays on: First of every month Genre: Angst / Gothic Neopian Philharmonic Plays on: Second of every month Genre: Classical / Orchestral Wock Til You Drop Plays on: Third of every month Genre: Heavy Metal M*YNCI Plays on: 4th, 11th, and 18th of every month Genre: Pop Jub Zambra and the Cobrall Charmers Plays on: 5th of every month Genre: Exotic / Traditional Jazzmosis Plays on: 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th of every month Genre: Jazz / Soul Blue Kacheek Group Plays on: 7th, 21st, and 28th of every month Genre: Modern / Electronic Chomby and the Fungus Balls Plays on: 8th, 15th, 22nd, 23rd (occasionally), and 29th of every month Genre: Disco / Funk
And now on to the rest of the amazing musicians!
2 Gallon Hatz Plays on: 9th, 16th, and 30th of every month Genre: Country You've never heard a country band like this before, it is for sure going to be a hoedown! The Meerca singer has managed to perfect his deep voiced southern twang style to perfectly ride melodies over the Poogle's harmonica. They are one of the first bands to ever play at the Tyrannian Concert Hall and they have stood the test of time, continuing to sell out crowds three times a month. And while their merch, for whatever reason, doesn't include a proper 2 Gallon Hat, you can get your own baseball cap style!
Sticks N' Stones Plays on: 10th and 17th of every month Genre: Rock / Grunge With members rocking names like Axle Roo, Gruff, Grizley, and Sludge you know this band is ready to rock!! Screaming guitars and powerful drums nearly drowning out the gnarly rough vocals howling out of Axle Roo's mouth. He has mastered projecting his voice to keep up with the heavy sounds and the crowd is always going wild. If you aren't used to attending rock shows it might be best to bring some protective gear and a helmet, watch out for crowd surfers!
Yes Boy Ice-Cream Plays on: 12th, 19th, and 26th of every month Genre: Electronic / Pop An electro-pop band featuring all Shoyrus that was once thought to be major competition for M*YNCI, they actually set out to carve their own niche in the industry instead. Auto-tuned vocals and space-age outfits set them apart from many other bands at the hall. It's a full sensory experience seeing them. Amazing dance moves, an incredible laser show, and fashion that could rival the most amazing runways in Neopia Central. A vacation to Tyrannia isn't complete without sending a postcard home marked with a Yes Boy Ice-Cream Stamp.
Mellow Marauders Plays on: 14th of every month Genre: Pirate / Folk The Mellow Marauders were sent from Krawk Island as a way of bridging the gap between the pirate land and other Neopian lands. Krawk Island has long been plagued with a bad image, rough pirates running around and pillaging tourists, so as a way to dissuade that idea they created the Mellow Marauders. A jolly group of peg legged pirates drumming on fishing crates and dancing around with an accordion, they have charmed the masses. Some people have reported leaving the venue with less things than they came in with...it couldn't be the pirates, right? They were on stage the whole time...
Gruundo Plays on: 23rd (occasionally) and 25th of every month Genre: Space / Rock Shortly after the discovery of Kreludor and the moon becoming an integral part of Neopia, Gruundo came down from space to play their interstellar rock at the concert hall. Four orange Grundos with the wildest hair you've ever seen can rock a guitar solo that is out of this WORLD! They have built a massive fanbase with their lyrics about destroying Dr. Sloth, though there are a few people who just can't stand the music...suspicious.
Hikalakas Plays on: 24th of every month Genre: Island / Calypso The Hikalakas shot to fame playing at the annual Mystery Island festival known as Gadgadsbogen. After their first performance tourists became obsessed and demanded they start playing monthly at the concert hall. Not ones to turn down a gig they packed up their steal drums and maracas and now they show up on the 24th of every month to bring the island sounds to Tyrannia. You can take a piece of the island home with you if you are lucky enough to snag The Hikalakas Bottles Of Sand after the show.
Moehawk Plays on: 31st of every month Genre: Synth / Rock Where else in the world can you see a band of Moehogs rocking moehawks playing a key-tar? Nowhere! This is the band that has the honor of closing out each month at the concert hall, and it is well deserved. They are one of the hardest working bands in the industry, frequently touring Neopia between bookings in Tyrannia. They are also known for putting on a very special holiday show during the winter.
Now that you have learned a bit about each band, which one are you rushing out to see? And which one is your favorite? Each one brings a little something different to the table and it is worth checking them all out, and with a new concert every single day of the month you have no shortage of activities! If you are really lucky you will obtain a piece of rare merchandise from the bands, some of which sells for over one MILLION Neopoints. What are you waiting for? ROCK ON!!!
