Quote of the Week
In an effort to connect with the local populace, the listening post had also been constructed in the shape of a pyramid. Certainly there were less of them back then, because its location now held many, many pyramids.
An Interview with a Very Rich Slorg![](https://images.neopets.com/nt/ntimages/199_slorg_sale.gif)
I think everyone in Neopia is familiar with the Shop of Offers, hidden away in Neopia Central. Some of your elders may have told you about how it used to look a little bit different. How it was once a place of annoyance for some, a weird place looking like it belonged on another planet. Some even claimed it was a product of Dr. Sloth, related to Advert Attack.
These days, it was the home to a variety of Slorgs. And one Slorg in particular was very famous.
This Slorg was said to be extremely generous. Giving out Neopoints left and right, to basically anyone who dared to enter the abandoned shop. Sometimes a little bit, sometimes a lot, but always something. The Spooky Petpet was said to not seem any different from the other Slorgs. He was said to be green, slimy, and had a big smile on his face. I had not met the Slorg before myself, nor had I ever been in the shop. There were times I wondered if the Slorg was like Jelly World; completely made up, but many Neopians swore by his wealthy existence.
So today, I found myself in the shop when I could not contain my investigative feelings anymore.
I paused to look at the pamphlets outside of the shop before I entered. It gave notice of a Slorg infestation, and if the citizens could please help chase them away. |
A Beginner’s Guide to Collectables![](https://images.neopets.com/nt/nt_images/538_neoquestcharms.jpg)
Collecting album items on Neopets is very different today than it was 20 years ago. For many new or returning players, it can feel very intimidating or overwhelming. For veteran players, collecting can be an incredibly rewarding goal. Hopefully this guide serves as an orientation for anybody who is interested in collecting album items. I will briefly introduce the types of items you can collect and the best ways to acquire them.
The Stamp Album is the most iconic album for collectors. As of writing, there are 47 pages! Each page has up to 25 items, and there are currently 862 items that can be placed into the stamp album, with more being released every year. There are also 26 avatars awarded for completing specific pages of the Stamp Album, making these items highly desirable and valuable. An important note about the Stamp Album is that once an item has been added to it, it cannot be removed!
Although it is called the Stamp Album, it actually holds more than just stamps! The other items that can be added include Collectable Coins, Sea Shells, Scarabs, Evil Coconuts, and Collectable Charms. Most Stamp Album items are still available today, but many were released in limited time events such as the Lenny Conundrum, Altador Cup, Daily Dare, Festival of Neggs, and Advent Calendar. |

"The Future is Better" by nick_and_nickette The young Faerie Kyrii looked out the window of her house sadly, as she reminisced the past.
Ava had lost her mother almost 3 years ago. It grieved her so much she counted the days. Losing her changed the young Kyrii's life forever... because she didn't have anyone else to rely on. No dad, no siblings, no nothing. At 21 years old, she felt lost. What was she to do now?
At least she had her job, that served as a distraction, somewhat. Queen Fyora had hired her to be an assistant for the castle's archivist. It was an honour to work for the Queen herself - something she never thought she'd do! But, despite having such a position, she didn't think highly of herself. On the contrary, she didn't like herself too much.
Her short lilac hair barely reached her shoulders, she wore huge spectacles, a turtleneck, and tended to slouch. Her facial expression was usually downcast, and her demeanour, gloomy.
As she set off to work for the day, she thought, "Will I ever stop feeling this way?" |
"Silver Linings, New Beginnings" by slytherclawqueen It was December 31st, and Juno was once again sitting at home, alone.
“Another year ending, another year beginning,” she thought to herself, staring glumly out the window at the leaves swirling into the grey sky outlining Terror Mountain’s peak above.
“But why do I feel exactly the same?”
It had been a hard few months for Juno, and even on the eve of a brand new year, she couldn’t stop the incessant spiraling her mind had been doing lately. She looked at her reflection in the window, and smiled sadly at the Grey Draik staring back at her.
“Maybe I just need to write up a list of resolutions, or something. That seems to help a lot of other people!” Juno sighed.
“I’m not sure what I’ll write down, but I guess I could try.”
Just as she pulled out a piece of paper to start, she heard a fluttering sound outside her front door, then a soft yelp followed by a loud crash. Juno’s wings fluttered nervously as she looked around, cautiously standing up from her chair. |
"A Hero's Journey: The Curse at Lakeside" by precious_katuch14 The Blue Acara heard the grinding, cranking sound of a bridge being lowered before she saw it with her own eyes.
She and several others in the White River Order of Wizardry clustered around the guild’s largest window, which overlooked the river that the town had been named for, and watched as the two halves of the bridge over the water fell into place slowly with a decisive thud before an audience of stunned passersby and townsfolk peering out of their houses. Instantly, a flurry of conversation and excitement rippled through the guild.
“The bridge is down! This means Zombom’s down too!”
“But who defeated him?”
“Bet it was some powerful mage,” a willowy Kougra remarked before turning to the Acara. “Hey, Mipsy, guess you don’t have to find Zombom now, huh.”
“Yeah, I guess not,” she said, shrugging and giving them a sheepish grin. “But it’s not like all that studying went to waste. I’m going to – “
