The Best Destinations in Neopia for a Summer Getaway by karate
--------
Summer is almost here, which means it’s time to start thinking about your next vacation. In Neopia, summer is always a popular time to travel, and as a pro traveller who’s been exploring the lands of Neopia with my Neopets for years now, I’ve got you covered with the hottest destinations for a summer getaway. Whether you’re craving a relaxing beach trip with plenty of time for fun and sun or you’d prefer to beat the heat and head somewhere cool, these are the best places to go for your next Neopian vacation. These fantastic destinations will have you packing your bags and booking a Neolodge as soon as possible! 1. Mystery Island When it comes to summer vacations, Mystery Island is one of the top destinations for a tropical getaway. This is Neopia’s premier beach destination and it has a lively atmosphere during the summer with plenty of holiday-makers ready to enjoy the island life. On Mystery Island, you’ll never get bored because there are so many fun things to do. Take a boat tour from the Harbour, or spend the afternoon playing volleyball on the beach. You can hone your surfing skills or just relax in a hammock on the sandy shores. A great way to explore the interior of the island is with Tiki Tours — my Neopets and I love seeing the island from a tuk-tuk, and it’s a real bargain at only 25 Neopoints. If you love shopping, you can shop till you drop on Mystery Island. The Island Market is a good place to hunt for unique souvenirs, or try swapping stuff at the Trading Post. For more intrepid travellers who aren’t content simply lying on the beach all day, you can venture to the Lost City of Geraptiku… just be careful, because you never know what you’ll find! 2. Kiko Lake Kiko Lake is a quintessential summertime destination for many Neopians. With its proximity to Neopia Central, this is the perfect place to go for a long weekend getaway. The lake itself is picturesque, but beneath the surface is something truly remarkable — an underwater village that more than one thousand Kikos call home! The best way to explore this part of Kiko Lake is on a Glass Bottom Boat Tour. You can see beautiful underwater homes as well as coral and seaweed gardens as you sail above the village. Back on land, you can spend some time relaxing on the beach and swimming in the tranquil waters of the lake. There’s a boardwalk area where you can play games like Kiko Pop (you never know if you might get lucky and win!) When it comes to food, Kiko Lake Treats is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, serving up delicious Kiko-themed candy apples, cupcakes, taffies, and more! 3. Roo Island Another great summer destination in Neopia is Roo Island. If you’re seeking fun and entertainment, this is the place to be. Roo Island is well-known among Neopians for its Dice-A-Roo Tournament Hall — you might end up parting with your hard-earned Neopoints over nothing, or you might win big! There’s also a boardwalk along the waterfront with more games and entertainment like the Merry Go Round. The boardwalk is also the best place to go shopping for souvenirs in Roo Island. If you’re interested in art and culture, pop over to the Art Gallery or listen to some live poetry or storytelling. The Coffee Cave is a great little local coffee shop you can’t miss while on the island. So whether you’re into games and entertainment, art and culture, or relaxing by the waterfront, Roo Island has you covered, making it a quintessential holiday destination for all Neopians. 4. Krawk Island Although it was once an off-the-beaten-path destination where most travellers didn’t dare to venture, Krawk Island has become more popular with tourists in Neopia. Don’t let its formidable reputation as a hangout for pirates scare you away! Krawk Island is actually an excellent up-and-coming summer destination. It has beautiful secluded beaches where you can even hunt for buried treasure! You’ll need to exchange your Neopoints for dubloons, because that’s the primary currency on the island. But once you have dubloons, you can do some shopping (and maybe even check out Smuggler’s Cove if you don’t mind dealing with some more… dubious clientele.) Krawk Island is also a major destination for foodies, and that’s one of the top reasons that visitors come to the island. If that sounds right up your alley, don’t miss the island’s culinary offerings. The Golden Dubloon is the most prestigious restaurant in Neopia, and it’s a huge draw for visitors — trust me, it’s worth the splurge to have dinner here at least once! You should also check out the Food Club while you’re in Krawk Island. It’s one of the most popular pastimes on the island and you can place your bets on your favorite pirate. 5. Terror Mountain Want to beat the heat and escape to somewhere cool this summer? Terror Mountain is the perfect destination for your next trip! Although it’s commonly thought of as a winter destination, Terror Mountain is actually a lot of fun to visit year-round. No, you won’t get to enjoy the festive decorations or the Advent Calendar like you could in December, but you can go ice skating and see snow even in the summer. My Neopets and I love stopping at the Slushie Shop in Happy Valley to get a refreshing and icy treat. Terror Mountain is also a fantastic shopping destination, and you can find all sorts of treasures at the Igloo Garage Sale and the Shop of Mystery. Don’t miss the Ice Caves where you can pick up more unique souvenirs like ice crystals or a rare Negg from The Neggery. 6. Shenkuu Finally, Shenkuu is the perfect place to go if you’re looking for a unique cultural destination. This mystical land was unknown to Neopians for centuries, and since opening up, it’s become a popular tourist destination for visitors from all over Neopia. This is another great destination for foodies. The famous Chef Bonju is known for whipping up some delicious dishes in Shenkuu and you can spend days trying new and unique meals. If you want to try cooking Shenkuu cuisine for yourself at home, be sure to stop at Exotic Foods where you can pick up lots of ingredients you can’t find anywhere else in Neopia. While in Shenkuu, be sure to visit the Lunar Temple. You have to hike up a steep hill to get there, but it’s worth it, and the view you’ll have over Shenkuu from the top is incredible! Another fun thing to do in Shenkuu is play Kou-Jong — it’s the most popular game in Shenkuu and once you get the hang of it, you’ll be playing for hours!
