What Should I do with my Gallery Anyway?!

     But… what should you do with your gallery, anyway?! There are thousands and thousands of items on Neopets, so how do you decide what to put on display? This guide will serve as inspiration for anyone who is at a loss for what to do with their gallery.

     Idea #1: Display Items You Like

     This is the simplest thing you can use your gallery for. If you have a bunch of random items in your inventory that you can’t seem to part with, why not put them on display in your gallery? There doesn’t have to be any rhyme or reason to the sorts of items you want to show off – and the items you like can actually say a lot about what kind of person you are! It’s the perfect way for a fellow Neopian to get to know you.

     Idea #2: Display a Themed Collection of Items

     Do you have a type of item on Neopets you just love? For instance, do you love the cute little cupcakes you can buy at the Bakery? Are you OBSESSED with all things jelly? Do you love collecting paint brushes and not using them? (I do not understand why anyone would do this but to each their own!) Your gallery is a great place to display a themed collection of items.

     On top of being able to choose a shopkeeper that matches your theme, you can use HTML coding to customize the colours and layout to match, too. I used to have a gallery dedicated to Water Faerie items, so not only did I choose the Water Faerie as my shopkeeper, I had a pretty blue background that tied it all together. Now, I have a pink gallery with all of my favourite “cute” items on display. The possibilities are endless!

     Idea #3: Display the NC Items You Have Up For Trade

     Have you ever dabbled in NC trading? It’s a fun way to pass the time on Neopets, so check out the NC Mall board if you’re interested in seeing what people are seeking and trading! If you happen to have any NC items you’d like to trade, a really easy way to show people on the NC Mall board your tradelist is to have all of the items in your gallery and link to it in your post. It’s not the only way to display your NC tradelist, but some people prefer this method because it keeps the items in a safe, easy to access place that is separate from the Closet items they don’t wish to part with.

     Idea #4: Try to Win the Gallery Spotlight

     Did you know that there is a Gallery Spotlight that you can enter? If you’ve worked really hard on your gallery and want to be rewarded for your hard work, you can enter the Gallery Spotlight! If your gallery is chosen to win, it will be on display for all of Neopia to see, you will win 10,000NP, and you’ll get a trophy for your trophy cabinet!

     The Gallery Spotlight is a great place to go if you need some inspiration, too. All of the winning entries have absolutely jaw-dropping galleries that are fun to look through – and other people’s galleries are the best place to discover new items you might not even know existed. Check it out!

     Idea #5: Show Off Gifts You Have Received

     Throughout my time on Neopets, I have received many gifts from generous Neopians. Whether it was someone thanking me for helping them with a Faerie Quest, a Neofriend sending me a cute item just because, or someone sending me a Tangy Tigersquash Omelette to alert me, “HEY! YOUR INBOX IS FULL AND I’M TRYIN’ TO MESSAGE YOU!” I can think of no better way to honour all of the beautiful gifts you’ve received from others than to display them in your gallery with a message of thanks in your gallery description.

     Idea #6: Pay Tribute to your favourite Neopet

     This is sort of along the same vein of having a themed gallery, but I felt like it deserved its own mention. Do you ever look at your Neopet and think to yourself, “I just love you more than life itself”? I know I do. Whenever I look at my Chocolate Kacheek, I am overwhelmed with how cute she is and how much I want to pamper her. If you know exactly what that feels like, you can use your gallery to pay tribute to your favourite Neopet! Put all of their favourite toys, books, and wearables into your gallery. Add items that remind you of them – such as plushies and food that bear a striking resemblance to them. (I have a Chocolate Kacheek Muffin that looks so much like my Neopet that I can’t bear to eat it. I’m sure you understand.)

     Idea #7: Display Prize Winnings

     If you spend enough time on Neopets, you’ll accrue quite the odd assortment of items from various games and activities. Your first instinct when winning an item from playing Kiko Pop might be to sell it, but have you considered showing off your mad skill by displaying all of those items? If you win an awesome item from spinning the Wheel Of Excitement, don’t you want to brag to everyone about how lucky you are? It’s tempting for sure, and your gallery the place to do it!

The best thing about having your own gallery is that there are no rules – if you want to display 1,000 Old Rotten Left Boots and nothing else, then go for it!
