An Overview on Some Unreleased Items

by domdee17

--------

In Neopia, shops sell an array of items to cater to one’s needs. Ranging from food, medicine, clothing, to even magical potions. However, due to internal or external events and actions, some items are left to never be available to the public. In this overview, you can take a look at some items that were never meant to be seen. While this article does not cover the large number of forgotten knick-knacks, it will hopefully inform you and be a pleasant reading experience.

ITEM #1: Vanilla Lutari Ice Cream Surprise (more commonly known as lut_vanillacone)

When the Super Happy Icy Fun Snow Shop Lenny was tinkering with a brand new, innovating icy treat to boost visits to Terror Mountain, he had also decided to collaborate with Mr. Chipper, who owned an ice cream cart at the bottom of the mountain. Together, both worked day and night to create the most delicious, chilling, and appealing looking dessert known to Neopia. And after 3 years of toiling, the Lutari Vanilla Ice Cream Surprise was made! It was made with the most high-quality ingredients in all of Terror Mountain, allowing it to get the stamp of approval from the Gourmet Club to make it r99, surely making it a hot-ticket item to restockers and Gourmet enthusiasts! However, just as Mr. Chipper and the Lenny celebrated in their success, a wild snowstorm approached the shop. Soon, the storm became faster and stronger by the minute, until it was powerful enough to rip off the roof above the two! And before their eyes, the snowstorm whisked away all the ingredients. Leaving the duo with nothing. Unfortunately for them, a batch of Lutari Vanilla Ice Cream Surprise required Snowager Tears for the deluxe vanilla taste; and after all of the memories of getting blasted, trying to get the original batch of tears, the two decided that they were better off simply making simpler treats.

ITEM #2: All About Grey Faeries

Set to be the final installation of the ever popular ‘All About _____ Faeries’ series. All About Grey Faeries was an extremely ambitious book, with over 700 pages and spanning multiple chapters; with the back cover advertising that it featured known Grey Faeries such as Baelia. Written by the anonymous author, they sent their writing to the Neovia Printing Press for publication. Sadly, as the Pteri running the press was about to put the book into mass-production; she accidentally bumped into a candle she had left for betting lighting, due to the constant dreary darkness of Neovia. In her shock, she had accidentally dropped the book in the fire! She scrambled to stop the fire, and despite her quickly quashing the flame before it got out of hand, the book was burnt to an absolute crisp. Only the ashes and a heavily charred (and half-destroyed) cover remained. While the Pteri had remembered what the cover had looked like while it was fully intact (and thankfully was able to re-create it) the full contents of the book were forever lost to time. The author is yet to release another copy of the book, and unfortunately it is extremely unlikely that it will ever make a return.

     ITEM #3: Custard Hissi Plushie

After hours of brainstorming, she had done it! The shopkeeper for Plushie Palace had made a brand new plushie! She carefully put the Custard Hissi Plushie onto a table, running to call her suppliers about a brand new plushie idea. The plushie was carefully painted to look as realistic as possible, which wasn’t an easy feat for the shopkeeper. It had taken her months, but it was finally finished! She had even made sure the scent would smell like fresh, delicious custard. This plushie was one of a kind, something the shopkeeper might never be able to recreate. But while she was away, someone else had walked into the backroom of the store. It was a Skeith, he was sent to deliver some plushies to replenish the stock (which he was carrying in a crate); but as he was calling out for the busy Cybunny, he smelt something. Something quite… custardy. He immediately put the crate down to find the source of the scent, and what he found was a delicious smelling, small Hissi that looked like it was entirely made of custard! Believing it to be real custard, the Skeith quickly picked up the plushie and ate it in one gulp; not noticing the fluffy texture of the plushie nor the fact that it tasted like fabric. After the Skeith had had his meal snack, he quickly left the scene. As the shopkeeper returned to see what the Skeith had called her for, she had noticed a new crate of plushie to stock. A few hours later, when she went to find the Custard Hissi Plushie to present to the manufacturers, she noticed that it was gone! Despite her trying for hours to find it, she realized that it was lost; So, she tried to make a new one. But even when she tried to recreate, it simply didn’t have the appeal of the old one. Eventually, she decided to make different, better plushies to present with, losing interest in the Custard Hissi Plushie.

     ITEM #4: Green Meerca Pinata

In the Toy Shop, Tasha was ordering a batch of what the pinata manufacturers called: ‘Brand New, Ultra Fun Green Meerca Pinatas’. She thought that it would be a way to boost sales even more, so she made sure to order hundreds. The shipment took a while, however. In fact, it took so long that eventually, the shopkeeper forgot about it after a month. But during the 20th of the Month of Awakening, she had received a shipment of over 400 of the pinatas. But when she looked at them, they looked a lot worse; they had scowls on their faces, their eyebrows were slanted, and their string to hang the pinata of the ceiling was missing. Tasha thought that they looked extremely like Meuka, with their angry faces. So, she decided to re-name them Meuka Pinatas. While they were a success in sales, the original Green Meerca Pinatas were never made, and the pinata company has refused to talk about them.

ITEM #5: Fire Koi Morphing Potions

When Kauvara wasn’t dealing with restockers flooding her shop, she was experimenting on a new morphing potion. Made specifically for Koi, she decided to make it turn the Koi fire colored. While she didn’t have a lot of time during her breaks, she made sure to brew the potion as efficiently as possible, managing to make it in a record 1 week! But sadly, she soon realized that the formula for fire and the Koi Morphing Potion wouldn’t mix properly, causing all sorts of unsavory side effects for the Neopet unfortunate enough to try it. Due to it being a danger to the public, Kauvara locked the only bottle of it in a box, near the storage shelves. While she has had better success in creating other, more safe potions; the Fire Koi one remains an embarrassing memory in Kauvara’s potion-making history.

     ITEM #6: Winter Wonderland Stamp

After a long while, the Post Office’s shopkeeper had come up with a brand-new design for a Snowy Valley II Stamp. He called it the ‘Winter Wonderland Stamp’. It portrayed a beautiful landscape of a snowy area, with a tree and a snowman, all wrapped up in a hexagon design. But when he was walking from his home to bring the stamp to the post office, a Kiko Lake member at bumped into him. The member took the stamp as a donation to help bring the Kiko Lake team to the Altador Cup, and swiftly left before the Chia could protest! Now, only 1 copy of the stamp exists, and it’s kept somewhere in the mountain of items the Kiko Lake team has collected over the years.

While I hope that these items will make a comeback and be available to be bought, it’s highly unlikely that they will. Nevertheless, I hope that you had a nice reading experience and have a great day, farewell!
