The Best Part of Neopia To Travel To Each Month!

by draik_bianca

--------

The Month of Sleeping - January: Virtupets Space Station

If you ever forgot how much you appreciate the one and only Dr. Sloth, make sure to visit the Virtupets Space Station over the Month of Sleeping. The cost to travel can be steep but worth it to experience/be forced into the emotions of appreciating Dr. Sloth all over again! Informative videos all about Dr. Sloth will lull you asleep and wake you in the morning until you are absolutely sure you remember how appreciative you are of Dr. Sloth.

The Month of Awakening - February: Roo Island

If you need something to JUMPstart your year, Roo Island is the place for you. It’s not quite entirely an amusement park but it is pretty close. Ride the Neopia-famous Merry-Go-Round and feel your spirits lift in real-time. If you are feeling lucky, head over to Dice-a-Roo to win some Neopoints and food, and if you are feeling extra lucky, stay up late and gamble your fate in a game of Deadly Dice with Count Von Roo.

The Month of Running - March: Mystery Island

In Mystery Island, the Month of Running is also known as Gadgasbogen – their annual Festival of Fruit! Try fruits that aren’t available anywhere else in Neopia and run while doing it. Appreciate the original story of Gadgasbogen even more as you take turns running around the Island and visit the many parades that pop up during this time. Mystery Island is hot and sunny all year ‘round, so remember to wear a hat and sunblock!

The Month of Eating - April: Meridell

If you want to incorporate a hearty feast into your Month of Eating, Meridell is the place to go. Meridellian feasts are a wonderful sight (and belly) to behold. A trip to Meridell is also possible on a budget, with all-you-can-eat gruel and bread stations all about the city. Feeling unfunny? Take a trip to the Palace where you can win an extended stay if King Skarl doesn’t like your joke!

The Month of Hunting - May: Brightvale

During the Month of Hunting, be on the hunt for knowledge! Brightvale is well known for its rich culture and emphasis on learning. Spin the Wheel of Knowledge if you are only going for a short trip, but visit the many libraries and bookshops if you would like a deep dive into the vault of knowledge that Brightvale has to offer.

The Month of Relaxing - June: Lost Desert

If you need a getaway, like a real, get far away kind of holiday, Lost Desert is the perfect spot. Be driven to the middle of the desert in the presence of a peaceful oasis alone for a week and learn the true meaning of relaxation. When you have had enough, travel into town and eat some of the desert’s most famous delicacies – Sand Fruit!

The Month of Swimming - July: Maraqua

If you want to put ‘swimming’ in the Month of Swimming, Maraqua is the place to go! At this time of year, the waters are at their most perfect, with some claiming that the waters surrounding Maraqua even have healing properties! If you are a fan of fine dining, Maraqua is also host to Kelp, a well-regarded gourmet restaurant. Don’t forget your leftovers! Maraqua also has a rich history which you will learn about as you explore the city by day.

The Month of Hiding - August: Neopia Central

The Annual Usuki Doll Convention takes place in Neopia Central during the Month of Hiding and I can honestly say it is a once in a lifetime experience for any casual or hardcore Usuki enjoyer. Pick up your badge and goodie bag, and discover a convention hall full of new and rare Usuki dolls alike, as well as a passionate and amazing display of Usuki original art in the artist’s alley. Make sure you buy your tickets well in advance though as this event is sure to sell out ahead of time every year!

The Month of Gathering - September: Faerieland

The Faerie Festival is a well-known and well-loved event that runs annually around the 20th of this month which is why I would recommend booking your holiday to Faerieland in the Month of Gathering. Faerieland is also known for its high-quality foods and literally - excitement! It also has the added bonus of being cheaper to travel to since the whole place came crashing down some years ago. There are current efforts to rebuild Faerieland at its previous coordinates, but before Faerieland gets rebuilt in the sky and you need to pay for airfares, I highly recommend booking!

The Month of Collecting - October: Haunted Woods

It would be accurate to say that the residents of the Haunted Woods feel they were put on Neopia specifically to celebrate the Month of Collecting. You can see the stark difference between the last day of the Month of Gathering and the 1st of the new month as elaborate spooky decorations and pop-up candy shops spring up overnight, seemingly by magic. If you can hang around until the 31st, the residents dress up and take part in trick-or-treating, a great event for all ages. But be warned, some folks lean more heavily towards the trick part.

The Month of Storing - November: Tyrannia

Visitors to the land of Tyrannia during the Month of Storing are in for a treat as the annual Pteri Flying Championships (also known as Pteri Day) take place at this time of year. The talent shown during the championships seems to get better every year as you can watch Pteri zip and glide through the land from dawn to dusk on the 8th. To fill in the rest of your trip, I would suggest the many games that Tyrannia has to offer. The Wheel of Monotony will fill your entire day and the staff at Tyrannian Petpets always welcome visitors if you are looking for a furry (or scaly) friend to bring home with you.

The Month of Celebrating - December: Terror Mountain

During December, if you don’t mind the crowds, I would absolutely recommend a trip to Terror Mountain. It does get a bit chilly during December attracting a large number of visitors as they participate in the annual Advent Calendar. Terror Mountain also boasts many other tourist activities to participate in if you need to get away from the Advent Calendar crowds, including Igloo Garage Sales and the good, inoffensive kind of Borovan. Remember to pack a scarf!
