Every year, Neopets of all shapes and sizes, as well as their owners, look forward to Valentine's Day. And what's not to like? It's a holiday full of pink and chocolate, roses and plushies. It's a delicious feel-good day. But now, Valentine's Day is over, and Neopians across the land are asking one very important question: What in Fyora's name do I do with all this pink stuff I accumulated?! Some even begin to wonder if they'll ever see something that isn't pink-tinged again. But never fear, Neopians – Fuz (sinistrous) and I – along with our lovely Kacheeks Eli and Ara – are here to save the day... and your neohomes. For your consideration, we present the Top 10 Things To Do With Your Valentines Memorabilia!
1. Bundle them up and use them as kindling to keep warm; it's still cold outside!
That's right – use them in your fireplace! After all, it's a cold, cold winter, so this is an eco-friendly way to heat your neohome, and you can't beat the price. If you don't have enough, you can probably pick up some Valentines junk on sale after the holiday – the Neopian Shops will be thrilled anyone wants to buy them. Just ignore the funny looks you get; thrifty is definitely hip. 2. Show them off in your gallery to remember how popular and loved you are!
So you were spoiled this Valentine's Day? Great! That's a lot of the fun. But now that Valentine's Day is over, the fun doesn't have to end. Why not start a new section in your gallery for your gifts? This way, you can have Valentine's Day all year round. Any day you feel blue, it'll be sure to cheer you up, and your friends will appreciate it, too!
3. Hide them in your SDB until next year.. and then REGIFT! No one will ever know.
Remember, there is no limit to how much your SDB can hold. So go ahead and quick-stock them there – it may not get you the Rubbish avatar anymore, but it will give you a good place to store them all for next year. And them voila – when Valentine's Day rolls around next year your shopping is already done! It's like magic... but not. Just be careful not to give an item back to the person who gave it to you; that would be awkward. 4. Use your stuff to dress up your petpets! They secretly love pink, we swear.
Valentine's Day may be over, but unless you have a very talented petpet, they can't read the calendar. So go ahead – put that cute tutu on your Kadoatie. Wrap you feather boa around your Warf. They love pink. Really! Please note: We are not responsible for any petpets that run away as a result of our suggestion. 5. Use them to help support your unstable furniture. That wobbly table is wobbly!
Tired of your glass of juice tipping over when you put it on your old coffee table? Never fear – we're sure something you got for Valentine's Day is the perfect size to keep your table level. Voila – useful gifts are useful, and you have no more spilled beverages. Win/win? We think so. 6. String all your fancy items together to make a bracelet.. and then hope TNT makes it wearable some day.
Charm bracelets are all the rage. Just ask TNT! So go ahead and use your gifts as beads; you get a unique bracelet, and who knows... maybe someday, you'll even be able to wear it. For now it can sit with the rest of the jewelry you can't wear. It's cool, right? No one needs to wear all of their jewelry, after all. 7. Donate it to a local neoschool for use as props in the school play.
Ah, don't you miss your neoschool days? Those good old golden neoschool days, when you got to do reading, writing, and math. And school plays! It seemed like you were always short on props, so why not help a local neoschool with some Valentine's Day props? Sure, they may not be able to use them right away, but we're sure they'll be grateful anyway. We hear the neoschools in Tyrannia would particularly love them. No, really. 8. Tie it to the end of a fishing pole and try to catch a new friend.
You never really know what you'll find when you hit the underground fishing scene. Chaosfish? Frightening squids? Sometimes you can even find books. But while none of those are terribly attractive options, we bet you'll catch something nicer with sweeter bait. Who knows, maybe you'll meet your new best friend down there! 9. Put them in all in a blender and create a yummy smoothie! Delicious!
All right, all right. It may not taste exactly the same as the ones you can buy in the smoothie shop. But really, who knows what goes into some of those anyway – it's probably better not to ask! Suffice it to say, this is a very, very yummy drink. Let's just... leave it at that. 10. Use them to write an NT article.
You just never know where inspiration will strike, do you? If you're having trouble getting your creativity to flow or running smack dab into Writers Block, gifts can often be a source of inspiration. You never know when that cute "I Warf You" will help you find the right inspiration for an article on the pros and cons of plushie materials, or the best wearable plushies out there. That pretty Mysterious Valentine Card could end up inspiring a series of articles on making neofriends. You might even end up staring at them and decide to write an article about what to do with them after Valentine's Day. (No, wait, we take that back. That would never happen.) Anyway, the point is – inspiration comes from many places, so maybe all that pink stuff is worth holding on to. Well, that brings us to a close! Ara and Eli, along with Fuz and I, bid you a fond adieu. We hope you enjoyed our article; now go forth and have fun with you Valentine's Day junk. Valentine's Day items. We definitely meant items!
