Guide to Mynci Beach Volleyball

by golvenzee

--------

You're probably here because you want to learn more about Mynci Beach Volleyball and the avatar you can earn with it. After reading this guide, I hope you will have a better chance at earning this pretty green avatar, a shiny new trophy or just some more neopoints!

The game itself is pretty simple: you are the blue Mynci on the right, the red Mynci on the left is controlled by the computer. All you have to do is make your opponent drop the ball on the ground to earn a point. However, if the ball touches the ground on your side, it's your opponent who earns a point. Sounds pretty simple, huh? Now all you have to do is score enough points to receive the avatar...

To move your Mynci, press the left and right arrow keys. To jump you use the up arrow. If you get through all six rounds, you win the game. Every round your opponent will be harder to beat. To win a round you have to earn 12 points. However, there has to be a two point difference. If the score is 11-11 and you score a point, the game isn't over yet. You would need 13 points in order to win. If your opponent also makes a point, making the score 12-12, you'd need 14 points to win.

If you win the round, you get 10 points for every point you scored more than your opponent. You also receive a 50 point bonus for winning that round. The minimum you can get after winning a round is 70 points, for that you'd need a score of 12-10 or more. The most would be 170 points, for a score of 12-0. If you lose, however, you will only earn 5 points for every point you scored in that level.

A game is no fun without some power ups, and Mynci Beach Volleyball is no different. When a Pawkeet appears and it gets hit by the ball, the Mynci who last touched that ball will receive a power up. There are 7 power ups and some are more fun than others. I'd suggest to try them all out and see which ones you like best.

Small Net: This pretty much explains itself, the net will be smaller. It makes it easier for you to get the ball over the net and score points. Just don't forget that the same applies to your opponent!

Big Net: This one is also pretty obvious, the net will be bigger. It makes it harder for your opponent to get the ball back on your side, but the same the other way around!

Giant Ball: Another obvious one, it makes the ball bigger, and thus easier to touch (but also to let it hit the ground on your opponent's side).

Superjump: This will allow you to jump higher, but it also takes longer until you are on the ground again. Usually the ball already touched the ground before you landed. I find this power up very useful if there is a high net, but you might not like it at all. If you don't, just try to get rid of it as fast as possible.

Supersize: This makes your Mynci bigger. It's easier to prevent the ball from hitting the ground if you're this size. I also find it handy if your opponent gets the supersize power up. At the very right of the screen, there will be a gap between the Mynci and the right side of the screen. If you manage to play the ball to this place, you usually can score a point.

Superspeed: This will speed up your Mynci. I personally dislike this power up and always try to get rid of it if possible. Yes you move faster, and yes you can get to the ball quick when it almost touches the ground. But it might also make you miss the ball if you go too fast.

Turdle: This is the last power up on our list. If you were the last one to touch the ball before it hit the Pawkeet, a Turdle will appear on your opponent's side of the net. If he steps on it, he won't be able to move for a few seconds. If your opponent was the one to hit the Pawkeet, it will be you who has to be careful not to step on this petpet.

If you're lucky, the petpet will appear to the side of the screen. There you will most likely not touch it. More likely, it won't be and you'll have to try to jump over it to get to the other side. Try to avoid this, though; it's hard to do so.

Last but not least, I also have some tips to score as much points as possible.

First the key to any game avatar: practice, practice and even more practice.

Next to that you'll also need a little bit of luck. This is for the game to give you the right, and your opponent the wrong, power ups.

As I mentioned before, when your opponent is supersize there is a gap between him and the very right of the screen. This gap is also there when he is normal size, but it is much smaller. If you manage to get the ball to that place, you'll probably score a point. This becomes more and more difficult in the later levels though.

Try to let your opponent hit the Pawkeet. If he gets the superjump power up, it'll be easier for you to score points. Same for the supersize power up and sometimes even the superspeed one.

When your opponent finally received the power up you wanted him to, try to make sure he doesn't hit the Pawkeet and loses it again. You can do this by keeping the ball at your side of the net until the Pawkeet is gone or, if the ball has just hit the ground, by waiting to start again until the petpet has disappeared.

This game can take a very long time and it's important to pause the game sometimes. If you want to pause it, just wait to start the game again after you scored a point.

Thank you for taking the time to read this guide. I hope it will help you to receive the avatar or a trophy! Have fun! (:
