Rainbow Pool Panic

by kadathewolf

--------

All around Neopia, reports have been flooding in about a rogue band of Meepits attacking the Rainbow Pool in order to keep new pet colors from arriving to all the Neopets in Neopia. Several pet colors have managed to slip past the close watch of the Meepit army, but others have not managed as well and are still plotting on how to make it to the Rainbow Pool without having to battle with the ferocious army. The battle is constant and Neopia deserves to be informed of the current ongoing struggle for power, and the everlasting hope for peace.

“I attempted to dash to the Rainbow Pool in the middle of the night,” said a Pastel Ruki, shaking with fright and obviously tired, “And I could see the pool, I was almost there. That was when… so many Meepits! They came from everywhere! I was swarmed and had to flee as quickly as possible. My Battledome skills were not going to be enough for that large army, so I had no choice but to flee as quickly as I could! The Meepits were quick and almost cut me off from my escape route, but I managed! I knew those extra codestones I spent on training my agility would come in handy someday.”

The Pastel Ruki claims he saw as many as seventy Meepits, but he says he knows that was only a small portion of the total army. Reporters have attempted to view the scene for themselves, but all have been frightened off by what has appeared to be angry Meepit eyes glaring out from within the bushes around the Rainbow Pool. The Meepits are sleeping in shifts to ensure that no new colors make it to the Rainbow Pool, but multiple Neopets have claimed that they have no fear of this Meepit army and will see that something is done about it. Others worry that the Meepit army’s territory might expand and that is something that no fan of Neopia wants to see.

“I have been slightly afraid myself, even though I do not go near the Rainbow Pool,” said the Nimmo who owns the Magical Bookshop in Neopia Central, “I’m afraid that this Meepit army may scare away my customers! Who knows, they could even be plotting some sort of takeover of the surrounding shops… The Rainbow Pool could easily just be their first target. But I will not close down my shop because of them and Neopia can be assured of that. I will probably just be a little more on edge… So you might want to be generous to me when we haggle… It will help calm my nerves a bit.”

“Our store assures its shoppers that no Meepits will come through our doors and that none of our foods have been tainted by these horrible creatures. The Kadoatery seems to be hungrier than ever though, so shoppers may want to come here more often and buy stuff… not that I’m shamelessly using this as a form of advertising for Neopian Fresh Foods or anything… No matter how wonderfully low our prices are and how good our food tastes,” said the Chia owner of Neopian Fresh Foods.

“To say that our petpets aren’t frightened of the Meepits would be a lie,” said the Usul taking care of the petpets in The Neopian Petpet Shop, “But we’re working hard to calm their nerves so they can go home with wonderful new owners. We won’t let the Meepits interfere with finding these petpets a permanent home and a loving family.”

Other storeowners around Neopia Central have reported that they will not be closing down in fear of the Meepits, and they encourage shopping there still. Most shops are taking extra measures against Meepits in order to ensure a safe and fun shopping experience for all Neopians.

“No Meepits will ever break through to our building, so Neopia does not have to worry,” said a representative of The National Neopian Bank, “Our security Chias are specially trained in the art of fighting Meepits and will have no problem keeping them away from the bank and all of Neopia’s hard-earned Neopoints.”

“Meepits don’t bother the Money Tree though,” said a Transparent Peophin who was found hiding behind the Money Tree, where she has been staying for the past few days, “The ghosts seem to ward off the Meepit army, so a lot of us have been staying here and using this place as a safe haven for all the new colors that haven’t made it to the Rainbow Pool yet. So far we haven’t had to worry about anything, and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a few of the ghosts steal some Battledome items from the Meepits. I think it means they are on our side and want to help get rid of the Meepits… Or they’re just ready for us to stop hiding out here.”

There have also been ongoing reports of an army gathering to quell the Meepit army and allow the pet colors to arrive safely at the Rainbow Pool.

“They won’t be able to take on all of us at once, and this is a fact that all of us are going to use to our advantage,” said a Sketch Ruki, “We can’t release the details of our plan of course, because we don’t want the Meepits to know, but let’s just say that a lot of us have been going to the Training Schools around the clock in order to prepare for this. We are going to take back the Rainbow Pool and allow the rest of Neopia to experience all of the great new colors the Rainbow Pool has to offer.”

All of the Training Schools have confirmed that they have been working these Neopets extra hard in preparation for quelling the Meepit uprising, but they were not available for further comment due to the extensive training currently occurring.

“Neopia has nothing to worry about,” said an out-of-breath Dimensional Peophin who was taking a break outside of Mystery Island’s Training School, “We are all going through extensive training, and I can definitely confirm that the Techno Master is pushing all of us to our limits and expects nothing but the very best from us. I have been working really hard and I know everyone else has as well. These Meepits will not know what is coming to them!”

No official date has been set yet for the battle against the Meepits, and even if we knew the date we wouldn’t be able to release it—we can’t have the Meepits find out! But Neopia can be assured that this uprising will be squashed and Neopians will be able to see all of the great new pet colors the Rainbow Pool has to offer.

Transformation Misunderstandings
Ophelia the Kyrii was doing what she did best and seemingly without end: talking and brushing her hair. Morry didn’t know how she had the hair or the vocal strength to keep going on like she did, but she certainly did keep going, with a big smile on her face to boot.
