8 Best Color Options For Your Pteri

by eggfruit

--------

Welcome, fellow Pteri owner! Wait… you own a Pteri, don’t you? Otherwise, you wouldn’t be here… or maybe you just intend to create or adopt one in the near future… whatever the case is, welcome!

The 8th of The Month of Storing is once more upon us and this article was specifically written to celebrate Pteri Day (and obviously Pteris themselves). Pteris are incredible creatures and deserve to be treated as such. The way we chose to celebrate these little birds is to elaborate a list of available colours we enjoy, so other owners can get inspired and potentially give their pets a brand-new look.

That being said, we invite you to check out our list below. Note that the colours are disposed in no particular order!

     1. Chocolate Pteri

If we had to describe this colour in one word, the word would definitely be “delicious”. There’s just no denying it. The colour Chocolate accomplishes two goals at the same time. First, it is visually pleasing, since the brown, white, and yellow together have very great contrast. Second, the colour has a clearly defined (and fun) concept! The Pteri isn’t just painted Chocolate. It IS the chocolate!

Also, the candy corn beak, the chantilly tail, and the sugar stripes are little details that totally make the fantasy become more real. If you’re into sugar, the Chocolate Pteri might be the colour for you.

     2. 8-Bit Pteri

Inspired by the early resolution of videogames, this colour is for people who like old-fashioned and vintage-like styles. Who could’ve guessed that in the future (our present!) people would want lower resolution for some things? Whatever reasoning is behind this, the most memorable feature of this colour is certainly the little squares (also known as pixels!) that all together complete the whole picture.

With such low resolution, it may be a little difficult to tell your Pteri’s current emotion. But this also might be a benefit, since some pets tend to get a little *cough* irritable *cough* on some occasions. If your friends ever brag about owning a UC, you can brag back by owning an 8-Bit Pteri, a colour that goes waaaaay back in time!

     3. Baby Pteri

Some people might find Baby Pteris plain and obvious. Others would rather call it “minimalist”. We certainly stand with the second group. We recognize that it is indeed a simple concept, but it does not necessarily mean it is bad. In fact, it’s exactly the opposite: it’s a very original and creative idea.

However, be advised that by owning an egg, your customization plans have to change drastically. It doesn’t make much sense to put a nightgown on an egg, right? The best customs with Baby Pteris revolve around backgrounds and foregrounds.

One last alert: just because you can’t see your Pteri, it doesn’t mean you won’t be taking proper care of it! Yes, that means you’ll have to regularly feed the egg. Just make sure you don’t offer your Baby Pteri any sort of omelettes, since it can sound inappropriate for obvious reasons!

     4. Mutant Pteris

Big wings, sharp claws, scary eyes, and thick skin. Does it sound appealing to you? If you’re into imposing and magnificent creatures, you should definitely check the Mutant Pteri. These creatures might seem too monstrous at first sight, but they can end up being very loyal companions. All they need is somebody that truly appreciates their beauty just how it is and also gives them a chance to show how cool of a pet they can be.

Mutant Pteris have elements of many other neopets species. First, they have a dragon-ish appearance, remembering somewhat Skeiths and Scorchios. Also, they have a prominent neck, which reminds of Hissis. Lastly, their main colour (blue) and the red details around the eyes remember the Maraquan pets. If you’re into mighty-looking and spooky creatures, this colour is the way to go!

     5. Royalboy Pteri

Who doesn’t want to feel elegant and regal, right? What if you could just BE regal? Well, the name of this colour says it all: it’s “royal”.

Plus, some people might claim otherwise, but this colour will certainly improve your pet’s battledome skills. “Why is that?”, you may ask. Well, the answer is quite simple. This colour comes with chest armour, feet armour, and even a cape! The Royalboy ensemble makes even the weakest of pets look brave and courageous. Who said fashion wouldn’t help your pets after all, huh?

     6. Darigan Pteri

The ones who feel proud of their allegiance should display it proudly. If you consider yourself a “minion”, there isn’t much to say other than this is the colour for your Pteri.

Of course, other than the Darigan loyalty reason, the colour is very visually pleasing. The main colours are black and brown, with much-needed red eyes. Together, these elements create an atmosphere of power and fear that appropriately conveys the Darigan Citadel vibe.

     7. Halloween Pteri

Pteri Day (8th of the Month of Storing) is close to Halloween (31st of the Month of Collecting) for a reason. It might not seem like it, but Pteris are creatures that do enjoy the darkness. If that’s the vibe of your pet, you should totally consider painting it Halloween.

The Halloween colour has some features worth commenting about. The first one is definitely the tuxedo, which makes your Pteri not just elegant, but also spooky at the same time. Second, your Pteri – for the first time ever – will be able to have teeth! And that’s not all! It will grow vampire-like teeth, which assures your lovely bird (or should we say bat?) is always well “fed”. You might end up wondering what it’s being fed with.

Last but not least, the brows of the Halloween colour are purposefully angled in order to make sure these Pteris have a frightening look.

     8. Maraquan Pteri

Pteris are naturally sky-oriented creatures and we all know that. But what if all of your other pets are water-type pets? How can you potentially make a bird live underwater? Fear no more! With the Maraquan colour, your Pteri will grow fins and gills, making it a unique-looking fish!

Unlike what many people might think, it’s important to state that your Pteri will NOT lose its beak, so be careful with what you feed it with.

     CONCLUSION

That’s all for today, guys! Those are the colours we personally enjoy the most on Pteris. Of course, taste is something really subjective and personal, but this article is intended to be a compilation of suggestions, while also explaining why a certain colour is liked. We hope you have a wonderful Pteri Day and manage to find a suiting colour for your pet. Bye!
