A Neovian Butler - Interviewing Wondree Pawsthread

by jirachi_iralicha_

--------

Interviewer: So, Mr. Wondree Pawsthread, I have invited you here today to ask you about your job of being a butler in the creepy yet lovely city of Neovia.

Wondree: Ah. My job of being a butler in Neovia?

Well, it's quite hard work. It is a job you must train hard for and do correctly or you will be fired as easy as that.

Interviewer: Could you please tell us about your first day of being a butler for the family of Acarawood?

     Wondree: Hm. Let's see.

Well, it was a dark and stormy night, but then again, every day in Neovia had quite the same weather.

Wondree: When I had first arrived, I had walked up to the manor's doors and knocked quite a long time before I got an answer.

Wondree: There was the lady of the house Miss Trailia Acarawood, then behind her was the man of the house, Mister Bryloanis Acarawood and their child Century

Acarawood. They made sure I didn't have any odd potions with me or anything that could cause any panic or terror to Neovia, like, once a long time ago…..

Interviewer: I see. And when you were working? What was your first task?

Wondree: My first task, was actually a simple one. Century wanted me to make him some tea.

I gladly went and began to make some tea for him after a look around the kitchen, then brought it back to him.

     Interviewer: Did he like it?

     Wondree: …..

No. He poured it on my head because it didn't have enough flavour to it. It burned, a lot.

     Interviewer: Oh….. Dear….. I….. I see…..

What was your first task from Ms. Acarawood?

Wondree: She wanted me to pick out a dress for her to wear to the ball. I picked the emerald-coloured dress because I thought it suited her fur colour well.

Interviewer: How did she like it?

Wondree: She threw the dress at me and told me that she had painted her fur wrong that day and that I only reminded her of it…..

     Interviewer: Yikes.

And what was your first task from Mr. Acarawood?

Wondree: He wanted me to arrange his bookshelf because young master Century had mixed all the books up one day and never fixed them back right.

Interviewer: Did you sort the books like he wanted?

Wondree: Yes, surprisingly. It was the first task that I had done that day that wasn't told it was poorly done.

     Interviewer *laugh* Oh, okay.

How is it like living at such a beautiful manor in Neovia?

Wondree: Well, It was quite odd at first. It wasn't home after all, but eventually, I had gotten used to it.

I met all the other servants as well, like the friendly maid Meerca that I rarely talk to, oh, and that Bori gardener that seems to lack brain cells.

Interviewer: Is there no chef? Are you the one that does all that?

Wondree: Yes. I cook for the family most of the time, unless they go to a nice restaurant to eat instead.

Interviewer: So, about the gardener, why do you think he lacks brain cells?

Wondree: Well, because he doesn't actually help the garden. He thinks he helps it, he really does, but he makes things worse by overwatering the flowers and trimming bushes way too far back…..

I usually have to do all the gardening as well.

Interviewer: How is gardening? Do you enjoy it or no?

Wondree: *sigh* There is the manor house petpet that insists on rolling around through the garden and ruining all the flowers, despite my dislike of that.

I have to replant fresh flowers and then give the petpet a bath afterwards because it's covered in flowers and dirt and twigs!

Interviewer: Wow….. How many Neopoints do you get paid for such a job?

     Wondree: Hm. Let's see. About….. Perhaps…..

59k, I do believe, not all together in a whole year though.

Interviewer: How nice! I'd love a job like that, it certainly pays well!

Is there anything you don't like about your job?

Wondree: Hm. Well, dealing with the house petpet is a bit annoying, oh and the gardener not helping out much. Then there's Century, who’s very picky with his meals, but I

understand because he has a gluten issue and instead of eating your average wheat flour products, he must eat rice flour products like Rice Crackers and such.

Interviewer: Oh, the poor thing! How do you get around the gluten problem when you cook him meals?

Wondree: I try my best to look into recipes that are gluten-free or at least close enough so it will not hurt his stomach. He is really fond of Fish and Chips, because it is free

of gluten and he enjoys the tastes of those two things together. Fish, Potatoes, Meats, Rice and Fruits are good for Neopians that cannot eat gluten.

Interviewer: That is very nice to know.

And Mr. and Ms. Acarawood? Do they have any preferences to their meals?

Wondree: Yes, actually. Ms. Acarawood is very allergic to anything with nut products in it, so I cannot give her stuff like Apple Walnut Tea Sandwiches or Blairnut Tea…..

And Mr. Acarawood is very picky, without a gluten intolerance. He dislikes all meats except for a handful of meats like Pepperoni and some Sausages.

Oh, and Century is sensitive to the smell of vinegar, so I try not to use that in my cooking either.

Interviewer: That is very thoughtful of you.

Do the Acarawoods happen to have ingredients growing in their garden?

Wondree: Some, yes. They grow apples mainly; they have many apple trees. It's actually quite fun to pick the apples from the trees, until you find a bug, then it's not.

Interviewer: *laugh* Do you not like bugs? Or someone else in the manor?

Wondree: Century and I both do not like bugs. We don't mind butterflies and moths, but anything like Spyders or other creepy crawlies, we are out of the garden faster than

you could spell my name one time.

     Interviewer: I see.

What is your favourite thing about your job working with and serving the Acarawoods?

Wondree: There are many things that I enjoy a lot. Cleaning the hallways, washing the clothes, making tea, cooking….. I could go on forever, really.

Interviewer: That's wonderful, I'm glad you enjoy your job as a butler. *soft smile*

Interviewer: Well, that's all for today and I hope everyone enjoyed this interview.

Is there anything you would like to say to the viewers?

Wondree: Yes, never give up. Whether it's a dream, a job, a health issue, Never, ever, give up. Keep on trying your best and you might just succeed. *small grin*

     Interviewer: Right on!

      And to our viewers, Farewell!

This interview was brought to you by Neovia! Don't forget to visit the lovely city of Neovia and check out what it has to offer, even if some of the things are very frightening. If you want to learn more about the Acarawoods and Wondree's adventures, maybe perhaps there will be a story one day written about them? And most importantly, thank you to all the wonderful workers at the Neopian Times for publishing our nice interview with Wondree Pawsthread!

And another thank you to all my neofriends, who are as awesome as the Neopian Times!
