The Great Petpet Parade

     They all came up with their unique ideas. Surprisingly grumpy old King Skarl suggested a comedy show but everyone knew he would never laugh at any of the acts. The merry Blumaroos of Roo Island wanted to host a worldwide Dice-a-Roo Tournament, but everyone agreed that it would be a very long game since everyone would want a turn to roll the dice. Chia Clown suggested a pie-eating contest, but nobody trusted him to make the pies because he is a sneaky little chia that loves to turn his pies into a huge, whipped cream mess!! Some cave folk from Tyrannia suggested a boulder rolling contest but only a few Neopians were strong enough to participate in that game. Even the Tooth Faerie chimed in with her idea of the brightest smile contest. When all hope was lost in deciding on what to do to squash their boredom, a meek and quiet little Plushie Kacheek poked her head around the corner and sheepishly suggested a petpet parade because she knew everyone would love to show off their cuddly little friends as well as celebrate having them in their lives.

     Unfortunately few Neopians didn't like this idea and tried to convince her that this was a bad idea because of how unpredictable petpets can be. After a long discussion and a lot of persuasion, everyone eventually agreed on the idea of the parade. But Jhudora had her concerns. She sighed and went along with it after seeing the disappointment in the little Kacheek's eyes and also felt a twinge of guilt in her cold dark heart. Also, she quietly wanted everyone to see her Meowclops as well.

     They all got to work preparing for the festivities together. Fyora The Faerie Queen supervised everything with great care. The Soup Faerie and Jhudiah both lovingly prepared all of the food for everyone. Apple Bobbing Bart set up an apple bobbing game including a small barrel just for the petpets to dive for teeny crab apples. Tiki Tack set up his famous Tombola stand. Both the Light and Rainbow Fountain Faeries decorated the streets of Neopia Central together with beautiful lights and colourful banners galore. A group of Neopets gathered sand from the lost desert for the litter boxes for all of the pets. The Neopian Philharmonic as well as Sticks N Stones agreed to perform their music for the parade. The Uni Shopkeeper and the Air Faerie both decided to work together to make the balloons and floats. Elvin set up his Kiko pop stand and filled up all of the balloons with either yummy pet treats or Neopoints as a special treat. Shop vendors set up small stands to sell fun items. Arnold brought his Test your strength game all the way from the deserted fairground. The Money Tree even helped by kindly allowing The Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity to be gently placed on his branches so he can enjoy the festivities. The little blue Grundo plushie smiled slightly for the first time at the thoughtfulness of the money tree.

     A week later the big day arrived and it was a beautiful sunny day. Everybody far and wide brought out all of the overjoyed petpets!! The Kadoatery let out all the kads so they can play with the other petpets. Angelpi and other flying species fluttered and soared around with pure joy. The happy little Slorgs slid around together on their slippery trails. Meepits scampering around squirting juice everywhere. Babaas and Poppits kept leaping out over the fences the Grundos and Chombies had put up and it put Imya to sleep. The Turmacs were rolling all over the streets knocking over the buckets of confetti. All of them were so noisy many Neopians and Neopets alike complained about headaches and secretly wished they brought earplugs. All of the petpets were so revved up they were running amok all over the streets of Neopia Central unintentionally causing chaos for everyone else. Jhudora chuckled at the sight of this until she noticed in horror her little Meowclops eating the hors d'oeuvres! She blushed at the sight of this and wanted to hide in shame from embarrassment.

     All the Neopets and Neopians had to come up with a plan to calm down all of the very excited petpets quickly before it got any worse. Fyora suggested trying to get them to relax a little somehow so they can get a chance to get everything back in order, but she was stuck on ideas. Illusen brought out her harp guitar and played an enchanting song that seemed to put all of the petpets into a relaxing trance for a brief moment. After Illusen calmed them down enough to sit still, the Library Faerie read to all of them several of her favourite stories from her vast library while everyone else worked cleaning up the huge mess the mischievous but very adorable petpets had made.

     Once the mess was finally cleaned up and all of the petpets finally calmed down enough, all of the proud owners marched all over Neopia central with their fluffy, feathery, and scaly little companions by their sides alongside all of the amazing floats. The streets were alive with music, and dancing, and the celebration of owning petpets filled everyone's hearts with nothing but pure delight and joy. When the parade was over everyone was free to play games, chat with friends and enjoy lots of delicious cuisine from all over Neopia. Ember the fire faerie had one final surprise planned that nobody expected for everyone. She quietly handed out scrolls telling everyone to go to Mystery Island with beach towels and to put their little buddies to bed.

     Everyone had an amazing day playing and making lots of fun memories together not all of them were perfect but one day they would look back and laugh. Once sunset came all of the petpet owners put their very exhausted little companions to bed safe and sound in their cosy NeoHomes and headed off to Mystery Island so they could find out what the big surprise was. Everyone was really curious about what she had in mind.

     On the shores of Mystery Island, everyone gathered around in excitement as they were puzzled in trying to figure out what the big surprise that Ember had in mind was. Then it became clear in the night sky. The most beautiful glittering fireworks that anyone had ever seen in every shape and colour that she could conjure up. It was truly a spectacular sight. The little plushie Kacheek that suggested the idea of a petpet parade was the happiest of them all because if she wasn't brave enough to speak up about her idea all of the spectacular memories would have never happened.
