Springtime in Neopia

     1. Spring Cleaning

     The first thing that comes to mind when thinking about April is spring cleaning. Now is the perfect time to tidy up your Neohome and Neopets’ closets. Go through your inventory and sell or donate any unnecessary items. We recommend that you discard your old things in the Rubbish Dump in the Meri Acres Farm in Meridell. Here, your old items will have a chance to be picked up and recycled by a new owner. The farm is also a beautiful place to visit during spring, since the crops are just starting to grow.

     This is also a great time to organize your gallery and show off your collections. Check out the trading post to see if anyone is selling items you need to complete your collections, as you may strike a bargain as other Neopians are clearing out their things.

     2. Go Fishing

     Warmer weather means it’s a great time to go fishing in Neopia’s many rivers and oceans. Grab your fishing rod and head to your favourite fishing spot. We especially recommend Kiko Lake, as it provides a good chance for a catch. You can also rent a boat there to reach deeper waters, which can improve your odds of finding some larger fish species. If you’re lucky, you might reel in the elusive Black Pfish, worth about a million Neopoints.

     Make sure you find a good rod, a pair of wellington boots and some bait, and you’re all set for a day in the water!

      3. Prepare for the the Altador Cup

     The Altador Cup is an annual Neopian event that takes place in June. However, now is the time to start preparing your team for the big event. Choose your favorite Neopian team and start practicing your Yooyuball skills. The better your team prepares before the event, the more likely they are to win. So if you find yourself having some free time on a sunny day, head out with some friends on a green field and shoot some ball! If you don’t have a Yooyu already, there are plenty of cheap ones to buy if you avoid the rarer colors.

     4. Go on a Picnic

     What’s better than enjoying the warm weather with a picnic? Grab some sandwiches and head to the Neopian Central Park or Meridell Castle grounds. Relax under the shade of a tree and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Bring your picnic hamper, a large picnic blanket, some sunscreen and favourite game to entertain you. We recommend that you visit The Bakery in Neopia Central to pick up some tasty baguettes or pastry to enjoy in the sun.

     Just be sure to check the weather forecast before you head out, as some rain might just spoil your day!

     5. Take Part in the Negg Festival

     The Negg Festival takes place every April and offers Neopians a chance to celebrate all things about Neggs. During the festival, you can buy Negg-themed items and go on the exciting hunt for neggs hidden all around Neopia, which attracts thousands of Neopians every year. The negg hunt is a perfect time to explore places in Neopia that you have never visited before, and it also rewards you with some exciting items if you succeed. Dress for the occasion by wearing a festive Negg Head Bonk or other negg-inspired garments. Oh and one more thing, don’t forget to try eating as many neggs as you can to find your favorite flavour!

     6. Visit Tyrannia

     April and May are great months to explore this region as the weather is cooler than in the summer, when the heat becomes almost unbearable. Help the Tyrannians with their daily quests, or battle the fierce Sabre-X for a chance to win rare items. A perfect day to visit Tyrannia is the 12th of May, as it is the Tyrannian Victory Day, when Tyrannians celebrate the defeat of the Monoceraptor. It is a perfect time to go to a celebration show in the Tyrannian Concert Hall, or find a deal in one of the Tyrannian shops as they offer a discount on this special day. When you’re getting hungry, go grab some delicious locally made barbeque. Just don’t forget your sunhat and sun lotion, as the sun shines brightly during its peak hours- even during spring!

     7. Participate in the Cybunny Carnival

     Another popular spring event in Neopia is the Cybunny Carnival. This festive event takes place on the 27th of March and features special items, games and activities, such as the ultra popular Stare-At-A-Cybunny-If-You-DARE-contest. Cybunnys are known to stare for hours on end without blinking or even moving a muscle, driving many Neopets crazy.Make sure to grab a Carrot Hot Dog, or if you are a true gourmet, go for the Four Layer Carrot Cake. They’re both delicious- and healthy!

     If you have a Cybunny of your own, you might want to give it some special treatment, by visiting the Rainbow Pool to paint it with the colors of the season or dressing it up for the occasion.
