Is There a Plushie for That?

     Recently, I realized that between Battledome fights, numerous Kitchen quests, and far-too-often-for-their-liking laboratory ray scares, my Neopets wanted to have some playtime. With all that hard work, they certainly deserved it. What toys, I pondered, could I buy for them to play with and keep, collect even? The answer came easy to me: plushies. Adorable, charming, re-useable, easy to find, usually cheap – all the great qualities of a lasting toy. When I started my quest to obtain plushies I was quickly impressed. Not only the sheer number but the variety and creativity of these soft, loveable toys. As we know, plushies are modelled after our favourite pets, characters, and sometimes items. Yet, I was surprised by how many Neopia findings that you can obtain in plushie form. A few hours into my journey I started to think about some of my favourite and unique items and wondered….is there a plushie for that!? So I wrote down this guide for new-plushie-lovers like me to answer those questions.

     Your favourite Pet, Petpets & colours -

     Though this is widely known, you can obtain plushies of nearly every Neopet or Petpet in every colour. Baby, Cloud, Faerie, Darigan…the list goes on and on! How fun to get your pet a replica of themselves or their dream colour! There are also festive plushies available with select pets and colours having a Christmas variety! If not for your pet, fun to collect as well! Though I haven’t seen it hit the shelves in Neopia yet, I’m patiently waiting for an Invisible Peophin plushie…

     Food –

     What’s better than a stuffed toy of your favourite meal or snack? Maybe the actual snack, but a plushie is surely a close second. If your pet is a food lover you are in luck because there are plenty of plushies for you. Banana? Avocado? Jar of Pickles? Yep, there are plushies for that. For our meat-lovers, there are Cheeseburger and Chicken Leg plushies. An entire turkey? Clamade juice? Check - plushies for those too. You can easily procure a plushie buffet!

     Instruments –

     Don’t want to get your pet a real drum or banjo and be kept up all night by that noise (I mean, music..)? Get them a plushie version because, yes, there are plushies for that! You can get a plushie piano, cymbals, guitar or even a harmonica! Your pets will be forming a band in no time and you can still sleep.

     Famous figures -

     Want to get your pet a plushie of their favourite famous Neopian? You're in luck because more than likely there is a plushie of them, and a variety too! Coltzan? He’s in plushie form. Hannah? So is she! Brain tree? You can get them in nearly all colours including rainbow! Snowager? You can get a standard plushie OR a ferocious plushie (beware of the latter). Balthazar plushies come in regular, gigantic, or even frozen! If you prefer your celebrities headless, you are also in luck as plushies of Jeran, King Skarl, and Von Roo are available. What a treat for your pet!

     Plants -

     Yes, there are plushies for that. Check out the plushies for Pebeanjay Flowers, Blue Tropical Mystery Island Flower, or my favourite, the plushie of a branch.

     Furniture -

     If plushie décor strikes your fancy then you are very fortunate! You can buy plushie sofas, dressers, or couches among other furniture for your Neohome! Stylish and incredibly comfy!

     Broken -

     If you fancy yourself a fixer-upper, then there are plenty of plushies on the market for you. These guys need a little love and TLC but can be a beloved toy for your pet in no time! There are Broken Chia plushies. There are assortments of Ripped plushies. Though I’m not sure of the difference, these could make for a perfect project for your pet!

     Emotions -

     Plushies for those. Broken heart plushie for when you or your pet are feeling down. Angry Cupid Elephante plushie for when you are….mad on Valentine's Day? Displeased Slorg plushie. Hungry Skeith. You feel it, there’s a plushie for it. I highly recommend the Ee Mote plushie when you are sad and really embracing your feelings.

     Magical –

     Yes, there are regular plushies but there are also plushies that have a certain glow to them and are enriched with magic! There is quite a diversity with these plushies in both Neopet species and colour. Buyer be warned - if your pet plays with these magic plushies they will turn into the exact pet & color that they are playing with! However, after the first round of play, the plushie turns non-magical and you get to keep it for future playtime and it won’t change your pet with subsequent use. Neat!

     Numbers -

     Learn to count? Numbers 0-9 in plushie form are widely available. Great for those early stages of building up your pet’s intelligence.

     Wearables –

     Early in my plushie-venture, I was happy to learn that there are now a variety of plushies and plushie accessories that are available in the NC Mall for customization! While the majority of plushies for hand-held, there are also backgrounds, background items and cute accessories for Plushie pets. May I humbly suggest the Plushie Skeith socks? Simply adorable!

     Random -

     If I haven’t imparted this fact enough by now – truly, there is a plushie for everything you can think of including codestones, nermkids, paintbrushes (not to be confused with the pricier Plushie paintbrush), even dung. Some of my favourites include the Double Headed Uni Plushie (vaguely disturbing, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right?), Sentient Tombstone Plushie (better keep an eye on him…), and the Drenched Sister Plushie set (Eldest, Middle, and Younger) that come in three variations of wicked: evil, moderately evil, and slightly less evil!

     If you have ever dreamed of a plushie version of something, it’s probably in Neopia. If you find yourself asking: is there a plushie for that? The answer is probably yes. I hope this short guide inspires my fellow pet owners to explore the cute, wild, wacky, and hilarious world (among other adjectives...) of plushies that Neopia has to offer.
