Short Story Jamboree

The Evil Slorg
by kippz

Now it may seem like all slorgs are nice...or at least slightly damp and sticky in a way that passes for slight friendliness, but this is not always the case. At least, not ALL slorgs are like that.

Once, not long ago in the Darigan Citidel, a slorg was born...no....created. It was not damp and friendly like most slorgs. Nor was it green and sticky, it was black and rough and scaly and quite a worry to the residents of Darigan. As if its looks were not shockingly worrying enough it had taken to biting at a young age. Most slorgs dont have teeth, as many young slorg owners will know. Instead they have sticky gums, which they use to suck at you in a friendly way. THIS slorg had teeth. In abundance. And the Tooth-faerie (despite many efforts) Could not remove them. So, Dariganites had to put up with this slightly annoying creature.

And thats all it was for a while. Slightly annoying. A slight pain. It might sneek up on you when you were hanging out your laundry, or hide in a dark corner of your neohome...but it never really caused any damage.

Like all young slorgs, this one grew. Most slorgs grow to a respectable but comfortable size (no doubt to make hugging easier) but this slorg grew and grew and GREW until it was twice the size of most slorgs. This growth spurt was blamed on its diet of asparagus, of which it ate great quantaties, much to the disgust of Adam. This made the slorg slightly more annoying...but at least you could see it coming now.

I would like to finnish this story by telling you that the slorg mended its ways, or was banished but I afraid Im a firm believer in the truth....

In truth, not all stories have happy, sticky, slorg-like endings. This is one that does not. The people of Darigan still are slightly annoyed by a big scaly slorg...

Oh well. At least you can sleep easy tonight in the knowledge that the slorg, quitely oozing in its bed,is soft and sticky and in no way related to The Evil Slorg...but dont be so sure about your neofriends meepit....
