Attack of the Giant Space Fungus

"It's a bird!" "It's a plane!" "No! It's... GIANT SPACE FUNGUS! RUUUUUUUN!!!!!!"

But the warning came too late. The giant space fungus had been hurdling down speedily, and had now crashed in the middle of Neopia Central.

Judge Hog gazed out of the window of his office at the Defenders of Neopia Headquarters, bored. Nothing interesting ever happened any more.

Screams tore the neopian morning. Judge Hog perked up. Someone was in dire need of help! He crashed through the window and quickly made his way towards the direction of the screams.

A terrible sight met his eyes; neopians were running around helplessly, screaming their heads off. In the middle of the marketplace was a giant space fungus, now grown to (roughly) the size of the Turmaculus.

Judge Hog watched in horror as the giant space fungus approached the Kadoatery. He could hear all the little Kadoaties yowling inside their cages as the giant fungus wrapped itself around the building, and swallowed it. Suddenly, the Kadoatery was no more, and now the space fungus had grown to the size of a gebmid.

Before the fungus could start on the neolodge, Judge Hog interpelled himself between the fungus and the building.

"Never fear! Judge Hog is here!" he roared to no one in particular. He flexed his awesome muscles and assumed a fighting stance, ready to battle the giant fungus.

The fungus paused, as if considering Judge Hog. Then, deciding that the puny moehog wasn't a threat, swallowed Judge Hog and made a beeline for the neolodge.

The more the fungus ate, the more it grew. Soon, it grew to the size of Neopia. The surviving population was forced to relocate to Krawk and Mystery Island.

But it was only a matter of hours before the space fungus took over the ocean also and surrounded both islands and submerged Krawk Island. The survivors on Mystery Island retired to Techo Mountain to await their imminent end.

However, JUST when the space fungus was reaching the foot of Techo Mountain, a space shuttle landed at the foot of the mountain, and out popped the Happiness Faerie!

"Tootles, I've told you time and time again not to bother the neighbouring planets," said the Happiness Faerie crossly to the fungus. The fungus shivered slightly, and slumped a little.

The Happiness Faerie spotted the terrified group of survivors and flashed them a brilliant smile.

"I'm sooooo dreadfully sorry," he said sweetly, "Tootles tends to get carried away sometimes. I trust that he hasn't done TOO much damage. I'll take him away now. All of these exertions must have made him hungry."

And while he talked, he touched the fungus with his flower. The giant fungus shivered again, and all at once it wasn't giant anymore, but had shrunk to the size of a keyring.

The Happiness Faerie scooped up Tootles, waved the surviving neopians goodbye, and zoomed off in search of another meal for Tootles.
