I am writing this article on behalf of NOPE, Neopians Opposed to Pet Eating.
NOPE is a campaign against all those terrible foods made from NeoPets, such
as Quiggle Pies, or Blumaroo Tail Steaks. These foods are produced by the evil
witch, and are, in our opinion, one of the most horrible things to be
found in Neopia. The members of NOPE are concerned Neopians from all walks of
life who have come together to fight to destroy these foods forever.
Imagine how you would feel if your treasured NeoPet were suddenly kidnapped,
dragged away to the forest, and then made into food! You'd be distraught, you'd
be so unhappy, and yet exactly this happens to tens of NeoPets every week to
feed the witch's illicit food production enterprise. Even if you are not an
owner of a Quiggle, Blumaroo, Grundo, Korbat, Meerca, Mynci or Techo (all these
pets have food made from them, see our list here)
then your heart must go out to those poor Neopians who know that their pets
are in constant danger of this fate.
Just Say NOPE! Just Plain Nasty!
Even if you can't raise a tear for the kidnapped NeoPets or their owners then
think about your own NeoPets. If they are anything like mine then they are your
treasured friends and you would do anything to protect them from things that
might scare or upset them. Do you really want them to go and wander into some
Neopian's shop and see food made out of other NeoPets! How would your new-born
Tonu or your precious Shoyru react to seeing a NeoPet baked in a pie, or NeoPets
hands cut off to make food out of! Even reading this article would upset half
on my NeoPets!
So what can we all do about these terrible foods? A number of Neopians who
felt strongly about the Quiggle Pie and the other foods have decided that enough
is enough. We want these foods banned or retired or the witch driven out of
Neopia so she can never make these things again. We have founded NOPE, the campaign
against pet eating. NOPE is open to any Neopian with any kind of pet. We are
not a Guild, but a campaign that already includes multiple Guilds and many Neopians
who are not in Guilds. We intend to keep campaigning until every Neopian knows
about our cause, and until these unfair and evil foods are driven out of Neopia
forever!
