Elderly Paint Brush
by Pansyparkinson14

With its gnarled, wooden handle
And its paint, rather plain and grey,
The Elderly Paint Brush would definitely
Make any older Neopian’s day.

Fancy a sophisticated look?
Does the baby color make you unhappy?
Then perhaps this newest color
Will fill you up with unbridled glee.

For it will provide any 'pet
With a handsome coat of grey and white,
Adorable, fine wrinkles around the eyes
And a smile, knowing and light.

Also, you can’t forget the clothes!
Such cute accessories must not be ignored,
Comfy slippers and walking canes abound --
And knitting yarn to keep you
From being bored.

Side effects may include weariness,
Fatigue, and short-sightedness, too,
But surely it’s a charming color,
A paint brush use you wouldn’t rue.

Something Has Happened!
by Dogobsess

Something has happened!
Informed by a box
That disease has been dealt to you
By Hubrid Nox

The Tax Beast has come
On his rounds to collect
Sloth fires his ray gun,
Your items are wrecked

Now your 'pets are depressed,
Some of them injured
More points disappear,
Ghostly cackles can be heard

Meuka eats up your food
And leaves you some snot
Pant Devil takes anything
Left that you’ve got

Your 'pet is now red
When it used to be gold
Icy skeletons left you
Both poor and quite cold

Taxes for kings
Who are grumpy and blue
And donations to Sloth
And his invasion crew

Just when you think
That it couldn’t get worse
“Something has happened!”
Oh, perpetual curse!

Ode To A Dung Bath Tub
by Sailorlunacat

Each morning when I early rise,
my sleepy march into your room,
I find a smelly, warm surprise
each morning when I wake and groom.

Your aroma I have forgotten since,
last time we parted ways,
wafting through the air, your scent,
each morning is how I start my days.

It's not that bad once you are used
to plugging up your nose, or just
let go and breath it in, you'll get
over it eventually, I suppose.

I step inside and run the bath,
I relax for a little while,
but then I do "the math" --
is all bathing such a trial?

The water's warm, the tub is too,
no soap will suds, no cloth will wash
as I sink down in the squishy goo.

All finished with that and glad to be done,
I remove myself from the tub;
the question as to whether
I am cleaner or not,
can't be as important
as whether or not it was fun.

A low maintenance tub,
you won't have to scour!
Though inhaling the fumes
will leave all your friends sour.
Of my Dung Bath Tub
I could not think any higher,
Why, oh why, then
do you think it was retired?

The Storytelling Blues
by Closemycoffin

I was reading the most
Fascinating story,
About heroes and villains
In all of their glory.

When I neared the end
I was surprised to see
That the story was left
To be finished by me.

Was it my chance
To be a writer myself?
Oh! What cheer and
Excitement I felt!

I pondered a bit;
I had an idea or two
And I wrote a few lines,
But they just wouldn't do.

I kept on writing,
An hour had passed.
I'd finished the part
And submitted it at last.

I waited and waited
For the page to update.
I hoped and hoped
That I wasn't too late.

The judge had posted
The ending finally.
But it wasn't the one
That was written by me.

Maybe I have
Found a great muse --
For poetry, that is.
But, I still have
The storytelling blues.

The Wonderful Wonderclaw
by Mommycox17

The Wonderclaw full of little pods
Which one do I want? How to choose...
The Large Claw will up my odds
In this game you cannot lose

So many different machines to pick
Maybe the rainbow, cloud, or fire?
In the slot my widget I stick
Now to pick the pod I desire

My adrenaline is pumping,
I can't wait to see what I've won --
I feel like jumping
This game is so much fun!

I push the claw a little to the right,
I hurry before my time runs out.
Now I let it go and it takes flight,
A prize I'll love, no doubt!

The claw tows the pod away,
Out of the machine it drops through --
and LOOK, a gold pod lay!
"Neopets," I yell "thank you!"

I click my gold pod and close my eyes,
Daydreaming of what I'll see.
I take a peek to see my prize
My heart is full of glee!

What have you won from this great game?
A Bright Rainbow Dress to look so great,
Or maybe something with a flame?
Go play Wonderclaw, don't hesitate!
