Tyrannian Plateau
- If I went into the Neochat room
and yelled in big letters "GO! GO! GO!" there would be 3 types of
responses. A number of people would be quite offended. After all, who is this
unknown user to come in and yelling at people to leave. An equal number of people
would get a shiver down their spine at the thought of the prehistoric card game
that haunts many trophy hungry people. A minute group would be thinking up happy
thoughts, being reminded of the fun antics of the game that has perdured through
the ages. It is my aim to increase that small number of people in the third category
to include you, the reader, as I teach you the ins and outs of that wonderful
game known as Go!
Go! Go!.
Go! Go! Go! was originally found in the Tyrannian Volcanoes, but it seemed
the lava melted all the cards, so it was moved onto the plateau. The characters
of Go! Go! Go! are quite... ancient, but they are still good at the game, despite
their prehistoric ways. Fortunately, the cards are newer than the opponents,
so you will not have any difficulty understanding your hand. (uh oh, I think
they heard me... I better change the topic). Yes, cards! The entire game is
just a 'simple' card game. Just don't take this game as another Cheat!, because
the two vary greatly. Go! Go! Go! contains hands, face ups, face downs, a stack
and a draw pile.
The Stack & Draw Piles The aim of the game is to get rid
of all of your cards, and to do that you have to place them onto the Stack.
For most cards, you just have to place a card of equal or greater value. For
example, if the card on the stack is a five, you can play a five, a six, a seven...
all the way up to Ace, which is the highest card. There are a few special cards
which you will need to know about. Two is a great card; it can be played upon
any card except for a three. You can only play odd cards on threes, such as
others threes, as well as fives, sevens, nines, Jacks and Kings. Fours are the
exact opposite of threes, as they can only have even cards played upon them
(every card that I didn't mention when referring to the three card). After putting
cards on the stack, it gets quite large quite quickly. It is possible to clear
the center stack by either playing a ten, or by playing four consecutive cards
of the same type (e.g. four jacks). The times when you pick up the stack and
place it into your hand is when you cannot make a legal move. The next player
can then put down any card of their choice.
The Hand You always get the first turn in Go! Go! Go!
and on the pile is a low card (usually a three, but on occasions it may be a
four). You simply have to click on the card you want and check that a red arrow
appears. Then you just have to click Play Cards and down they go. Try to play
cards as low as you can, because after your turn, its goes round and you must
play a higher card than the one on the stack. If you play all your high cards
early on, then you will be in trouble when you have a 3, a 5, and a 6 while
everyone else has Queens, King and Aces. Keep your twos until the end as they
can be especially useful when your opponents get down to their last high cards.
If there are cards in the Draw pile, then you may not notice your hand getting
smaller. If you have under three cards in your hand, you get the missing cards
replaced. Fortunately, this does not apply if you have over three cards in your
hand. Once you have no cards in your hand, you move onto your face ups.
The Face Ups These cards can be the most annoying or the
best cards in the game, depending on how you se them. The face ups are decided
at the beginning of the game, and cannot be changed. You play them like your
face up cards, except everyone can see them. If you can't play a face up, your
lowest card is put into your hand and you pick up the stack. The same applies
for other people, so it is possible to purposely put down a card just high enough
to stuff up other peoples plans.
The Face Downs If you manage to get rid of all your face
ups, and any cards you placed in your hand during the process, you move onto
the face downs. As the name describes, these cards are face downs, and could
be anything. I can't really give you any advice here, just to suggest go with
whatever card you feel like. You never know, you just might get lucky. For all
you know, you could have an Ace, a King and a two hidden under there. Don't
forget, the other opponents have face downs too, and chances are they will get
stuck as well.
The End Once you have finally played your last card, you
arrive at a pretty screen saying your result. Don't worry if you didn't come
first: you still win hundreds of Neopoints for getting second or third. The
only downside is that you have to play that round again. However, if you do
win against everyone, you get to advance to the next round. There is even a
special prize for winning some rounds. Yes, I am talking about trophies. The
will arrive at the end of the second, fifth and last rounds of Go! Go! Go!.
So why don't you go and play this fantastic game? One day you might hear someone
talking about Go! Go! Go! on e the chat boards, and you can be one of those
people who smile and think of their golden trophies.
