Many of my friends first laughed at me when I told them that it was love at
first sight for me and my first NeoPet, a Lenny. Now the purpose of the article
is not to make you pity this kooky, odd bird, but to open your eyes at their
brilliance.
The Lenny. Curious, funny birds. They like to dance, collect necklaces and
tell jokes, possibly even something you consider a hobby. What have they ever
done to you? Nothing.
How do I know Lennys aren't one of the most popular of pet species? Well it's
not a great secret, and recent statistics show that there are only 117,631 Lennys
in Neopia compared with the Shoyru the most popular pet species with 1,965,024
of 'em in Neopia. There are also a mere 4 paint brushes to their name, probably
as a result of their unpopularity. One of the brushes, the Cloud is so bright
and dated you need sunglasses to look at the pet. Ouch!
So why are they this unpopular? The results of a recent poll conducted in the
chat rooms of Neopia are that:
Lennys disliked because:
Look too uncuddley - 55%
Not fluffy and furry enough - 20%
Look evil - 10%
They have small, beady eyes - 5%
Too small - 5%
Look evil - 3%
There are just nicer looking pets out there - 2%
So we've done the bad, Lennys have good points too, don't they? Yep, well me
and my Lenny obviously think they do. I love their shiny, orange beak and bright
orange waddley feet. They also have that adorable mouth-open-wing-up expression
that turns me to jelly.
Well, I hope I have used your time usefully to learn about the little bird
with a big heart, and that this article has changed or altered your feelings
towards them. After all, you do have a special place in your heart for them,
it will just take a bit of eye-opening for you to realise it. |
