Now, we've all heard about evil creatures and what they'll
do to us and our pets, if we ever see them. But, now I'm starting to see
another type of view on these creatures. While some of them are truly
evil, some are actually very kindhearted.
The main topic of today's story is the Ghost Lion. I
had an encounter with the Ghost Lion. While I was walking through the
shops one day with my lovable little Jubjub, FuzzWuzz3Me, I heard a deafening
roar. I knew instantly that the Ghost Lion was near. Hearing of the Ghost
Lion and his kindness before, I was not afraid and told FuzzWuzz3Me not
to fear him. When the Ghost Lion appeared before me, he looked at my pet,
roared again, and all of my pets were healed. I am very grateful to him.
Only one thing confuses me. The Ghost Lion has a place
in the Gallery Of Evil. In the Gallery Of Evil, it says:
Ghost
Lion
An ill-fated omen sent to scare youngsters, the Ghost Lion usually appears
just before tragedy occurs. He is also the hunter of lost spirits and
wayward young pets. You will hear a Ghost Lion long before you see one.
Know them by the sound of their deadly quiet growl. To protect your pets
from the Ghost Lion be sure to lavish them with lots of love.
Two Questions came to my mind when I read this. These
two questions are:
1. Is there more than one?
The statement made on the Ghost Lion in the Gallery Of
Evil sometimes uses the singular noun to refer to the Ghost Lion. But
sometimes, the article uses the plural noun, suggesting that there are
more than one Ghost Lion. This is more of a joke than a question, since
I doubt there are more than one Ghost Lion.
2. If you lavish your pets with love, does the Ghost
Lion Do Good for them instead of bad?
If this is true, maybe the Ghost Lion destroys lonely,
unloved pets to put them out of their misery.
I even saw a story on ghosts, yes the ones who steal
everything from the Money
Tree, supposedly. One brave ghost came to a Neopian and told this
Neopian that they were not all evil and that this accusation was just
common prejudice. Ghosts are just former Neopians who made some mistakes,
were punished, and now cannot find peace. The good ghosts only steal from
the greedy and donate what they steal to the Money Tree. This statement
reminds me of Robin Hood. Though he doesn't exist in Neopia, he existed
in the real world, and was he evil? No he was not!!! This is another example
of a creature that is presumed to be evil, but may not be evil at all!
I also read another article in which the Pant Devil defended
himself, stating that he was not really evil. He said that it was hard
to be hated so much and that he is only supposed to be evil because that
is what he was created for. The NeoPets team created him to be evil. He
can act kind, but he is coded evil. This is another example of a misunderstanding.
Now, back to the Ghost Lion. One Neopian wrote that
the Ghost Lion appeared and healed his/hers brave hurt Kacheek. Maybe
the Ghost Lion has the same problem as the Pant Devil, the ghosts too.
I rest my case. Maybe the Ghost Lion seems evil to you.
But I hope my article changes your mind. Give the Ghost Lion a chance
along with some other evil creatures! You never know, they may bring you
