RAINBOW POOL - Does your boring blue Blumaroo need a little excitement? Does
your green Grarrl not seem to be as great as it used to be? There's an answer!
Paint Brushes! One swipe of the brush and your pet will be exciting in no time.
But does anyone actually stop to consider how these magical artifacts work?
The answer is yes...me! A week or two ago you (hopefully) read "Paint
Brushes: Neopia's Biggest Mystery" by yours truly. This week I have
more questions, which I'm going to let you ponder, since I have no answer to
them. I'm going to go into more detail on some of the oddest Paint Brushes around
too.
Invisible Paint Brush - I think I'll start it with probably the most
boring Paint Brush ever. One swipe of the brush, and your pet is invisible.
How does this work? Invisibility has always somewhat confused me. It allows
one to see through the body of the invisible pet/person. I'm not going to do
into too much detail about how the eye works, but since you see reflected light,
does the light reflect off of objects and go through the invisible pet/person
into your eyes. It doesn't make sense! You'd think that all pets would be available
in this colour, since the invisible Zafara and the invisible Uni look identical.
The artist doesn't have to do ANY work at all. Very odd indeed.
Scritchy Sketchy Paint Brush - Another Paint Brush very similar to the
Invisible Paint Brush. The pet is invisible except for light blue lines surrounding
it. It's either with the use of this brush your pet's organs simply vanish (scary
though) or else it becomes invisible with the exception of the lines. Just like
the Invisible Paint Brush, it doesn't make sense. On the other hand, neither
does buying some jelly beans for more than 5,000 NP...
Fire, Fire Your Pants on Fire Paint Brush - Sounds painful, right? Your
pet being covered in hot flames. Don't worry, it's just fire that's painted
onto your pet...normally. The Fire Lupe and the Fire Wocky just have pictures
of fire. Unfortunately, the Fire Kyrii and the Fire Scorchio aren't so lucky.
The hair of the Fire Kyrii and the wings of the Fire Scorchio are actually on
fire! How the brush manages that is a mystery. How the pets aren't running around
looking for a bucket of water is also a mystery. That also brings up the question
of when those pets go swimming...not a good thing. Also what happens if they
were to sit down on furniture. Very scary thought. With this, you'd be surprised
why more Neohomes don't catch on fire.
Spotted Paint Brush - Overall, I really don't need to question this
Paint Brush...except for one thing. When used on, say, a Pteri for example,
the Pteri turns yellow with black spots. A very nice look. But when it's used
on a Kau, the Kau turns white with black blotches! As you can see by the picture
of the Spotted Paint Brush, it's clearly yellow with black spots. I guess some
chemical reaction must occur when the paint touches a Kau's skin causing the
paint to turn white and black.
Plushie Paint Brush - The newest Paint Brush is also a weird one. The
liquid on the brush (if that's even liquid) makes the pet turn into a giant
plushie! Does that mean the Neopet is suddenly stuffed now with cotton? What
happens when the Neopet eats something or drinks something? If it rains, the
plushie Neopet will probably weigh a lot more. Plushies rip, so a little scratch
to a regular pet would be fatal to a plushie pet...unless someone sewed them
back together.
Ghost Paint Brush - The second-newest Paint Brush. When this one is
used, your pet becomes a ghost. Is it actually dead? Not likely, considering
another Paint Brush could bring it back to life. You can put your hand right
through them. Very strange.
Other Questions - Here are some other questions. Sometimes when a Neopet
gets painted into a certain form (e.g. Pirate Koi, Christmas Kacheek, Tyrannian
Mynci) clothes get painted onto them! Very weird. The use of another brush would
get rid of those clothes.
Sometimes when a Paint Brush is used, it can have different effects. The Christmas
Chia is a snowpet (scary, especially when it gets warmer) unlike the Christmas
Kiko. A Tyrannian Meerca has a spear, but the Tyrannian Shoyru doesn't.
When a pet gets drinks a Transmogrification Potion, it becomes a mutant of
the Neopet the potion is named after. The Mutant Krawk is green with three eyes
and four arms. If you wanted to paint it red, it wouldn't be a red Krawk with
three eyes and four arms, it'd be a regular red Krawk. The brush has the power
to take away body parts! Gross! The same goes with a baby pets. Baby Grarrls
are red, but if you wanted to paint it green (for some strange reason) it would
be a fully-grown red Grarrl, not a baby red one.
The final question, the ultimate question. The question that bugs me the most:
How are Paint Brushes made?!? "Oh that's easy," you may say "You take
some carved would, some Peophin hairs and some paint!" WRONG! How does it get
to be magical? Is it some insane plan by Dr. Sloth to make all Neopians look
different so nobody would be able to tell the difference between one and another
and chaos would occur? Doubt it. My guess would be the Faeries did it in attempts
to make Neopia a prettier place. But if they wanted that, they could probably
start with Tyrannia! *plugs nose*
See, there are never enough answers for the number of questions I ask. Maybe
next time I shouldn't ask the question and instead sit in the corner with my
ears plugged with my fingers while singing 'Jingle Bells' trying to block the
question out of my mind. Anyway, this is too_kule reporting from the Rainbow
Pool. Over and out.
