Be a Master NeggSweeper

by Whorat

You may think NeggSweeper is mostly a game of luck. But it's not. You can find little tricks that can almost always take you through the whole game, hardly guessing at all. So, you want to know these tricks? Read on.

For starters, make sure you understand the rules of the game. You click on a Negg, and if that Negg has a trap in it, your game is over. However, if you click on a Negg without a trap in it, one of two things could happen:

-If the Negg you clicked on has one or more Neggs with traps in them next to it, the Negg you clicked on will be replaced by a number showing how many bad Neggs are surrounding it.

-If the Negg you clicked on has no trapped Neggs surrounding it, it will be replaced by a blank space, which will extend out until a Negg with bad Neggs surrounding it is hit.

-The goal of the game is to click on every Negg on the board except for the bad ones.

Now, we start on specific situations:

In this situation, the circled Negg must have a trap in it. The green 1 in the lower right hand corner means that that space has one bad Negg surrounding it, and the only Negg surrounding it is the circled one. You should mark this Negg by holding down the "Ctrl" key while clicking on it, to remind yourself that it has a trap.

In this situation, the circled green Negg must be safe. The bottom 1 shows that there's one bad Negg in the blue box. The green 1 just above the bottom one shows that there is one Negg in the purple box. If the green circled Negg was a trap, that would give the upper 1 its Negg, and that would mean that none of the other Neggs in the purple box could be bad. So where did the bottom 1s bad Negg go? It wouldn't get one.

In this situation, the red circled Negg must have a trap. The bottom 1 says that there is exactly one bad Negg in the purple box. But the middle 2 says that there are TWO bad Neggs in the blue box. This means that one of the bad Neggs must be in the purple box, and the other must be in the blue box, but not in the purple box. The only space that fits that second description is the circled one.

These are just a few examples, but if you follow the same pattern of logic, you should be able to work your way through the game. Good luck! And have fun ^_^
