Well everyone, it's me again. I'm sure I know what you're
thinking. "Wait, didn't she already WRITE an article on Dice-A-Roo?" Yes,
I did, and you get a cookie for remembering. But, new information has
come to light! That's right….once my Guide to Dice-A-Roo
hit the Neopian Times I was deluged with wonderful fanmail full of information
and other great stuff I hadn't known! So, in tribute to those who shared
it, including beta_seraph and many others, and because good info is a
terrible thing to waste, here are some NEW pointers on Dice-A-Roo!
New Roo:
1) On the Yellow and Silver dice, you can get Faeries! That's right! It
takes time and patience, and possibly a lot of 5 NP expenditures…but isn't
it worth it?
2) The Lucky Dice are, to my knowledge, a sham! I bought one, played with
it quite a bit, and was never any luckier! So to all those people who
say "I won 5,000,000,000 NP with this dice! I'll take a Faerie PB for
it!", your secret is out!
3) To the knowledge of anyone I have corresponded with…there is no secret
level. That little Blumaroo who says there is must be mistaken…or, perhaps
said level is in the works.
4) There is no way to predict the order of the rolls. They're completely
random. You can't count cards like you can on the card games. Unless you've
got psychic powers, you're basically out of luck if you want to guess
what's next.
Now after reading all this, you might be wondering WHY
I bothered to write not one, But TWO articles on this game. Well, simply
put, I adore it. I think it's the best Old-School random game in Neopia,
and by golly these are my reasons why.
Roo Comparisons:
1) With the "Wheel" games, you could get a very nasty surprise, and wounded
pets…as well as not winning much of anything. Besides that, the games
don't last for long.
2) The Scratch Card is also a very brief game, and your chances of EVER
winning the jackpot are minuscule. Besides that, it costs 500 NP!
3) Gormball, while fun and exciting, lacks the potential for HUGE winnings
and non NP prizes that Dice-A-Roo offers.
4) The Card games (Cheat, Pyramids, Scarab 21 etc.) are not truly random.
You can, through statistics and simple math, figure out the odds on every
move.
I know this has been a short article…but I didn't want
to waste anyone's time by reiterating the things I had said in my original
Dice-A-Roo Guide. OK, there is ONE thing I want to restate. DO NOT play
Dice-A-Roo for the money! That will frustrate you since NP in Dice-A-Roo
are so fleeting. Play for the prizes, and for the FUN! With that said,
I'll end this… so I can go play Dice-A-Roo!
