Conquering Faerie Evil: Part Five

Mint...the Mutated Shoyru

"I'm a monster!" Mint cries gruffly.

"You don't look that bad..." Heather says, trying to make Mint feel better.

"Look at me, Heather! I'm a MONSTER! And you say I don't look that bad?!?! Are you out of your mind?" Mint cries. Mint runs into the house upset.

***On Monday Morning***

"There is no way I am going to school like this!" Mint yells at Heather.

"But you have to go to school! I am sorry about the way you look. But I will take you to school."

Heather picks up Mint and puts Mint in her car. Heather drives Mint to school. When they get there, Heather holds Mint's paw comfortingly and leads her into the school. Mint leads Heather to the classroom, where all the other NeoPets are already there. They look at Mint in disgust. Miss April looks a little shocked at Mint's appearance.

"Mint, are you OK?" Miss April asks Mint.

"Yeah . I'm fine," Mint says gruffly. Miss April scrunches up her nose because of Mint's sewer smell. Mint goes over to where she sits and she sits down, next to Blueberry. Heather asks Miss April if she can sit in the class to make sure Mint is OK Miss April says that that is fine. Heather sits next to Mint so that Mint has Heather on her left, and Blueberry on her right.

"I'm sorry for the way I acted the other day, Mint," Blueberry apologises. "I really am. But what happened to you?" Blueberry asks, trying to cope with Mint's pungent smell.

"Guess who did this to me..." Mint says deeply. "Devil, Danté, and..." Mint starts again.

"And...?" asks Blueberry.

"The Dark Faerie," Mint says unhappily. "She sprinkled some black dust over me then I just started to mutate into this foul body," Mint says sadly.

"I'm sorry..." Blueberry says.

Danté then shouts across the room in front of everyone. "Hey! Stinky! Where do you live? A NeoHome or a Sewer?"

Mint bursts into tears and runs out of the classroom. Heather looks at Devil, and if looks could kill, the Dark Faerie would need a new red Grarrl. Heather runs out the classroom after Mint. Blueberry follows. Blueberry and Heather eventually find Mint locked in the stock cupboard.

"Mint? Can you come out, darling? It's Heather," pleads Heather.

"No! I'm staying here!" Mint yells angrily.

Miss April runs in with the keys to the stock cupboard. She opens the cupboard and they see that Mint is hiding in a cardboard box. Heather takes the cardboard box off of Mint's head and looks at Mint.

"Mint. You are my NeoPet. You are beautiful to me whatever you look like." Heather smiles.

"I am?" Mint asks.

"Of course!" Heather and Blueberry cheer.

"There is something magical I could give you to change you. It's a Green Paint Brush. If you want, you could have it to return to your original self?" Miss April offers.

"Are you serious?!" Mint asks ecstatically.

"I think this is a good enough occasion for it to be used," Miss April says. She digs into a box in the cupboard and pulls it out. Miss April hands the Green Paint Brush to Mint.

"Thanks!" Mint says, as she starts to paint herself. The cobwebs on her wings disappear. The warts and spots disappear. Her fur shrinks to its normal, short length. Mint's Mouth goes back to normal. The bloodshot in her eyes disappears. The scythes on her paws disappear. Mint's teeth go back to normal, like the claws on her wings. Mint starts to smell of perfume, instead on the smell of the sewer. Mint's voice goes back to normal.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Mint thanks Miss April.

"You're welcome!" Miss April says happily. "You can go home right now, both you and Blueberry, if you wish?" Miss April asks. Heather accepts Miss April's offer and Heather drives Blueberry and Mint home.

When Mint, Heather, and Blueberry get home, there is a yellow, glowing slim figure waiting. Heather pulls into the drive and the figure looks at them.

"Greetings. I am the Light Faerie. I request your assistance in a battle against the Dark Faerie. I believe you have met her?" The Light Faerie says.

"Met her? SHE TURNED ME INTO A MUTANT!" Yells Mint angrily.

"Oh. Then you'll want to get revenge on the Dark Faerie and her pets?" asks the Light Faerie.

"Of course!" Heather, Mint, and Blueberry yell at the same time.

"I hope with you three on my side, we will have enough power to destroy Devil, Danté, and the Dark Faerie. The Dark Faerie has been raising evil NeoPets for decades. She dreamed of creating the world's most evil NeoPets, so she could take over Neopia. Then she created Devil and Danté. They are hundreds of times stronger than they make out. They could have killed you in an instant, Mint, with only moving one paw. You must be careful. Heed my warning and all shall be fine," the Light Faerie warns. "I will take you up to Faerieland where you shall fight the Dark Faerie and her evil NeoPets."

Mint and Blueberry pick up Heather and then they fly with the Light Faerie up into the clouds, into Faerieland.

"Light Faerie, why is the Dark Faerie evil?" asks Mint.

"Nobody knows. Some people say she was hit on the head when she was a baby. Some people say she is pure evil.. Personally, I think she is just being herself..." the Light Faerie says.

"Oh. I just can't imagine the Dark Faerie as a baby..." Mint says to herself.

"We're here," says the Light Faerie. They are standing a huge, white building.

"Wow! This place is massive!" Blueberry says in awe.

"This...is the Faerieland Battle Arena. Only Faeries, Faerie's NeoPets, and friends of Faeries can use it."

They go inside.

"Hey! Look!" Mint yells. Across the Battle-Pitch, the Dark Faerie, Devil, and Danté are standing looking at them. The Dark Faerie grabs a microphone.

"I thought you'd come to attempt at stopping me and my NeoPets," she booms. "How foolish can you be? No-one can stop me! NO-ONE!" she screeches.

"We'll see..." says the Light Faerie. "Mint. This is my wand. You can use it. It will stop any Dark magic coming towards you.

"Thanks," says Mint.

Heather looks at the wand and notices some words on it. "Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus?" asks Heather. "What's that mean, Light Faerie?"

"That is Latin. It means 'The light of the world will go on for all Eternity.'" The Light Faerie answers.

"Oh," Heather says.

The Light Faerie gives Heather a wand and Blueberry a wand.

"Let's battle!" yells the Light Faerie.

"So be it..." the Dark Faerie says calmly.

Devil and Mint runs into the middle of the arena.

"Devil! Go!" Yells the Dark Faerie. "Hit them with your strongest ability I gave you! Hit them with a Shadow Explosion!" The Dark Faerie orders. Devil growls and makes a big ball of black energy in his claws. He then fires it at Mint. As it hits Mint, it explodes. Mint gets blasted back, life coming from her stomach...
