Hey! What’s up? I’m IcedMoon, better known as Iced. My friends say I’m pretty powerful, I guess they’re right, but I’m not the best Lupe in the world. I’m the Beta female in the Starz Lupe Pack. My best friend, Shin_Dig_Jr, or just plain Jr, he’s a Young Adult in the same pack. The two of us are as different as night and day! But we’re still the best of friends. Our owners get along great too. Well, I’m not here to bore you with my life story, so here goes: It was an average day. I was sitting outside the door of DiZZyCat’s shop, looking suspiciously at everyone passing by. The regular customers of Totally Neopointless know about that, they go through the process everyday! It’s really hot, and I don’t do good in heat. So I get up and walk over to Jr’s house. Whiningpup, Jr’s owner, says that he just finished lunch and is browsing around the shops, so I figure I might as well go along too. I go back to my house to ask if I could, DiZZy agrees, gives me a heavy bag of Neopoints, and I’m off! Knowing my friend pretty well, I head straight for the food shop, and there he is, pressing his wet nose against the window, with that Chia chef guy trying to shoo him away. That ol’ Chia knows me and Jr pretty well, and is rather fond of me since I always give him a reasonable amount of Neopoints for his food. Jr’s a different story, he just sits there and drools. Grinning, I go up to him. “How’s it goin’ chef dude? ‘Sup Jr?” I say. My good old pal looks at me and grins back. The Chia smiles and says, “What’ll it be today Iced? The usual?” “Nah, Tide’s kinda sick, so Dizzy’s worried and is only letting me eat health food. With the exception of a Joint of Ham!” I say to him. He nods and wipes his little hands on his old apron. Going to “the back.” He comes back with a big joint of ham in his small arms. “Fifty-four Neopoints Iced!” he says, handing it over to me. I shake my head. “Forty,” I argue. “Forty-three,” he says back. “Deal,” I agree with a smile. I took out my bag of money and count out forty-three Neopoints, then hands them over. Jr looks at the ham and starts drooling again. “You silly old guy! Here, have some!” I say, tearing the meat in half and giving some to my pal. He grinned and wolfed it down while I chow down on my half. “C’mon Jr. Let’s get our pets and go to the Ice Caves,” I suggest and he nods. We walk back to my house first, since it was closer. I whistle and Loopy, my little Warf, comes toddling out from behind the cabin. He sticks out his tongue and spits at us, as a greeting. “Ugh, nasty!” I say as we head towards Jr’s house. We arrived shortly and Jr looked around. “Blue! Where are you? IcedMoon, Loopy, you, and me are gonna go to the Ice Caves! Let’s go!” he calls out. Blew_Blue, a cute little Puppyblew, peeks out from behind a boulder, barks, and tagged along by Jr’s side. So, the four of us walk over to the Ice Caves. Everything was quiet and frozen, and not a soul was to be seen. We wander around a bit, until Blue started yapping like the Dickens! The rest of us rush over to see what in the world he was so excited about and we gasped. Smack in the middle of the Ice Caves was a huge block of ice. And inside the block was some weird, orangy-brown, furry creature. It sorta looked like a Chia, except it was even bigger than us Lupes! Loopy got scared and started bawling. I run over and tried my best to calm him down. “Shh, shh. Don’t worry Loop! That thing can’t hurt us. And even if it does, me and Jr’ll protect ya!” I say. As soon as those words left my mouth, we hear a deep, rumbling sound. I look up and around, to see what was happening. “Iced! The monster-thing! Look at it!” Jr shouts, motioning towards the giant Chia. The block of ice was cracking, and then it shattered into pieces. The furry monster glared at us, looking very mad and annoyed. “You have woken me up! And now you must face me, the Missing Link!” he hollered. I growl and looked up at him boldly with fiery golden eyes. “Bring it on! I can take you!” I snarl. Jr stands at my side, also growling. The Missing Link grunted like a barbarian and hurled a giant piece of ice at us. Jr and I leap up as one, barely dodging the deadly missile. I look over to our pets and guess what I see! Loopy and Blue are sitting at one side, playing, while me and Jr are fighting for our lives! Loopy was teaching Blue how to do that spitting thing, so I groan and tell them to be careful. But, all they do is get up from where they were and toddle over to that horrible Missing Link. Their short little bodies only reached the monster’s toes and the two kept going forward, tongue sticking out, ready to spit! To my surprise, the Missing Link stopped trying to kill us and actually SMILED at our pets! “Who pets belong to?” he asks. “Me and him,” I reply, motioning towards Jr. “Pets friends, weird doggies friends too!” it bellows. “Weird doggies?! What does he think we are? Gelerts?!” I ask Jr with a relieved smile. He laughed, and I can just hear how happy he is that we’ve been declared friends. “You two, very strong. I challenge you in Battledome!” the monster hollers before walking off to... who knows where? The two of us shrugged and trotted over to our beloved pets, who had saved the day! We hugged them to show how proud we were. All four of us set off on our ‘journey’ back home. When we got to Jr’s house, we realized that all of our close friends were there too. Jaristina, Jr’s girlfriend, bounded over and grinned from ear to ear. “Where have you been?! We were looking for you! It’s a friendly get-together,
and Whiningpup said that you and Iced were at the shops. I went to look
for you two, but you weren’t there!” Jari said, giving Jr a big hug. I turn over to my left, about to give MY boyfriend a hug, but stopped. “I forgot! I don’t HAVE a boyfriend!” I say, rolling my eyes. And everyone bursts out laughing. A horse’s head popped out of the river nearby. “What are you all laughing at?” she asked. It was TideRacer, my Peophin sister! She walked up to us and smiled at me and Jr. “Oh nothing...” Jr says. Dizzy walks out of Whiningpup’s cabin and hugged my neck. She pet Tide’s nose, since she didn’t like to be hugged. “So where have you two been?” my owner asks. Another human walks up behind her. Whiningpup! “Yeah! We thought you were at the shops,” she says. “We were at the Ice Caves. And both of us got Missing Link as a Battledome challenger!” I say with a smile. I cuddled up against Dizzy, happy to be home. She stroked my ears. I could see Jr cuddling up with Jari too. “The Missing Link?” Dizzy asks skeptically. So I sigh and tell the story of what happened this fine day, with Jr filling in some parts I leave out. The End |
