Adoption: A Blessing or a Curse? by gohanohki |

OK, you all say adoption is neat (perhaps...most likely not, but, oh well...we all have opinions...). Well, this is an article about the pros and cons of Neopia's Adoption Agency. And Chibi_Aqua (my blue Shoyru) has demanded to be part of all this, so let's give her a hand! *Chibi_Aqua bows and falls, yet again making a big fool of herself* Gohanohki: Oh...man....This is going to be an experience.... Pros --> Social Help • Helps the "Adopter" to get in touch with the imagination of the other players, just by seeing their NeoPets name and species. • Helps the "Adopter" interact with the old owner(s) of the NeoPet(s) adopted. (Same with the old owner(s) being able to interact with the "Adopter" [weird...this is the first pro about the "abandoner"....]) • And etc. --> Guild and Etc. Help • Helps the "Adopter" tell about their new NeoPet and help advertise their guild about helping adoption (Okay, okay, you don't have to adopt to advertise, but I had to put that in....) • Helps the old owner or adopter tell about the pros and cons of their adoption/ abandoning (like me!) Chibi_Aqua: Bragger... Gohanohki: It's true! Chibi_Aqua: This is boring...I want to play with Chibi_Diamond! Gohanohki: Ooookaaaay, then. Let's get back to Pros..... (Chibi_Diamond is my Red Peophin...) --> Let the NeoPets have a word... • The NeoPets make good friends there, yet soon they will have to leave them....(whoops...added a con in that one!) • The food is better! (but the Lupes disagree....no chocolate Chias :*< ) Chibi_Aqua: And only a couple Fuzzles! Gohanohki: How do you know? You've never been there... Chibi_Aqua: Rumors.... Gohanohki: You believe those?! Oh...boy....@_@" Okay. Chibi_Aqua: No more interrupting during the pros, you've already done it TWICE! OK, back to the article... --> Etc. • Helps the old owner find out whether adoption is good... or bad. • Okay, okay, I cannot think of anything else, so....etcetera. *Chibi_Aqua mutters that etcetera is Gohanohki's new favourite word, then Gohanohki pats her on the head, a little harder than usual....* Now for the Cons! Cons --> Loss, depression • The old owner usually finds out that, most likely, they will not be able to get their NeoPet back from the Pound. • The NeoPet's wonder why their owner abandons them, and goes through a state of depression. Chibi_Aqua: Why the heck do they abandon us? We're kawaii (cute)! Gohanohki: Okay, you're taking it too far, my friend! Chibi_Aqua: Too far?! What's that supposed to mean?! I am the CUTEST! Gohanohki: ...-_-()... OK, back to the story! Where were we? Oh yea! Cons! • Some weirdos give them cuss words, numbers, mean, and etc. names for FUN! Chibi_Aqua: Why are there mostly Grundos in there? Gohanohki: Because these people think some NeoPets aren't kawaii, so they choose the one they do not like most and give them mean names... Chibi_Aqua: Why I oughtta.... *holds Chibi_Aqua so that she will not hurt anyone* Gohanohki: Okay, then! Let's get back to cons before Chibi_Aqua embarrasses herself! • Depression hangs in the air, so the pound is sometimes a very gloomy place... --> Accusation • OK, we have all seen the articles about adoption, and people accusing the "abandoners", and the "abandoners" join the fight by saying that they had to, and look where that got us! Nowhere. --> Let the NeoPets have a say • Some of the NeoPets think it will make them better and more respected in the pound to become bullies, so some of the NeoPets get a few bruises... • When the food is low, all of the Korbats and Buzzes are accused of perhaps trying to drink one's blood -_-()) And that's not a fair assumption. --> Etc. • OK, some of the "Adopters" starve them, then put them back up for adoption, or abuse them (same with some of the original owners). Okay, that's all! Now, I am not accusing any of you. Some of the owners had to give up their adopted NeoPets because of being harassed by the NeoPet's old owners (like my friend had to give up Blue9cloud...poor Blue9cloud...already has had 3 or 4 owners....). Chibi_Aqua: *bows* Now, let's interview me and about where I get this kawaiiness! *calls for make-up* Gohanohki: Okay, time for a nap, you have gotten too big of an ego for one day....-_-() Chibi_Aqua: But...but...my FANS! Help me! I am being kidnapped! I have a show to do! Gohanohki: *drags Chibi_Aqua away -_-() Well, see ya! And think about adopting, not abandoning! |
