Rescue Plans
In Part Two, Nialyind is taken to the palace of a dark faerie named Asvorna, who takes Nialyind's evil snowball in exchange for her help in the Battledome. Kithi meets redwall_freak and her four pets, and tells them who she really is. Now, Kithi is making plans with Nharetti and Siusabre to rescue Nialyind.

There are three new characters, a Gelert named Cliae, an Usul named Leskaya, and a Peophin named Riverwave.

Two Neopets, hiding in the shadows, were watching as Asvorna got up and paced around the room.

"I need to go to the Haunted Woods," she muttered, "and make that witch do the potion for me. And I also have to rob the Neggery and the Hidden Tower. Then, the plan will be all ready, and I can bring Nialyind back down, help her fight Snow with Kithanar, and then bring her back to Faerieland. She can be my tool there. Wonderful, especially since her mother is an Uber-Faerie." Asvorna cackled, smushed some of the snow from the evil snowball in Nialyind's face, and then flew off.

Nialyind snored quietly in a corner.

"This is horrible," one pet said to the other. She was a green Gelert who had been sent to Asvorna's palace to fight her.

"What do you know about her, Leskaya? We have to stop her from doing this."

Leskaya was a red Usul who had come to Faerieland for fun with her owner and had gotten lost in Asvorna's palace. "I don't know. You know I don't have any battle magic, Cliae."

"Yes, but you do have abilities," Cliae whispered back to her. "And I came here fully prepared for a battle. I can lend you some of my things."

"Okay. You know already about all the booby traps; it's a good thing you have lightning speed and I have mach 1 speed. Otherwise, we'd be dead by now, with all the traps she has. Then, there's all the poison she gets from that witch in the Haunted Woods. And it's a good thing I have the grand feast ability, since I think the only things to eat are neggs with some kind of evil effect and food that has various drugs in it. Anyway, I think we have a chance of freeing this Nialyind if we manage to sneak up on her and break the spell that Asvorna has cast on her. But it's unlikely we'll be able to get out of here without outside help…"

Outside, help was on the way.

"So how are we going to get to Faerieland?" Nharetti asked.

Someone tapped on their window. It was a Peophin, skateboarding through the streets of Shirnyn.

"Hey, I have three spare faerie paintbrushes," the Peophin said. It was then that Kithi noticed the brilliant blue wings the Peophin had. "I'll help you paint yourselves, and then we can fly to Faerieland. I'm Riverwave, Jacko's gangster son-in-law, so I have a few connections with the business."

"Cool. I'm Kithi. Did you make Faerie Kaus yet?"

"Yeah, but I think that Jacko just didn't want to release them to the public yet because they were still working on the design. You okay with that?"

"Sure. I'm Nharetti."

"Cool."

"Oh, and be careful not to get any paint on the house," Siusabre warned. "Your cleanup crew just finished getting the cloud paint off the living room."

"Those two Techos…" Riverwave let the sentence hang. "Kithi, this house has been painted with cloud paint, disco fever paint, fire paint, strawberry paint, the paint brush of the stars, just about everything you can think of. It's amazing the house is still standing."

"It's amazing that I can't get myself painted with a rare paintbrush, but these walls can," Nharetti said.

After about six hours, the four of them were completely ready to fly to Faerieland.

"When do you have to go back to Faerieland, Kithi?" Riverwave asked after hearing Kithi's story.

"Noon on the 22nd day of Sleeping," Kithi said. "It's noon on the 20th day now. So I have to defeat this dark faerie, get Nialyind, fight against Zhaylesa, and then come back to Faerieland, all in the space of two days. I'm going to send a quick message to Zhaylesa."

She scribbled on a piece of paper, Your Majesty: My partner Nialyind is hurt, and I must find her. I am sorry to call off our battle, but I have to fight a dark faerie to rescue my friend, and I won't be able to fight two major battles in two days. If you wish, we shall battle you the next time we come to Neopia. You can contact me at the Faerieland Neolodge, or at the house of the Fire Faerie Atelmin. Sincerely, Kithanar.

"Find Zhaylesa the Ice Queen," she told the message. It flew off into the air. "Now we can go. Riverwave, do you want to come with us?"

"Sure, Kithi. That'd be funny if they actually put me in the Neopian Times for this. A renegade skateboarder like me!"

"I'll bet you 90 NP that they give you an award," Siusabre said.

"Deal. Let's go."

Nialyind woke up suddenly. She was having a nightmare that repeated itself over and over. She stood over a white Aisha (Zhaylesa?) and slashed at her with a sword. Then, she called a Grand Lightning Beam that struck Zhaylesa straight in the head. Zhaylesa's last words were, "Why didn't you believe your eyes, Nialyind?" And then, a figure would walk up, hand her a night stone, and say, "You are the one I have sought for centuries, Nialyind." Then, the figure said more things, but Nialyind could not remember them.

In fact, Nialyind did not remember much of anything, except the dream. A voice seemed to be whispering, "Go, Nialyind…the Blue Shoyru Morphing Potion is on the fireplace…take the evil snowball wand…I have neggs for you on the table…" and other meaningless things.

Nialyind moved toward the food pantry…and bumped into a shape.

"Hey!" she yelled.

"Hey yourself," two voices said at the same time. There were two very quiet giggles.

"Hi," the larger shape said. "I'm Cliae. Magic torch." The area around them brightened slightly, so Nialyind could see the outlines of a Gelert and an Usul. "I'm the Gelert. The Usul is Leskaya."

"Hi, Nialyind. I'm am ordinary Usul who got lost here one day. Cliae came here for a better reason than me: to fight against Asvorna. She's been waiting for the right moment."

"Asvorna's out right now," Cliae said. Her voice was lower than Leskaya's, so it was easier for Nialyind to distinguish between them. However, her night vision was not very good…and she did not see Nialyind picking up the evil snowball wand and aiming it at her.

"Cliae!" Leskaya cried.

Cliae started, and picked up the first thing in her hand, which was a Shield of Reflection.

The shield flashed, the wand shattered, and Nialyind fell to the floor.

"How are we going to cover up this one?" Leskaya muttered.

Zhaylesa was walking to her cave when something bounced off her head and fell into her hand. It began to glow. She unfolded the glowing paper and read it. It was the note from Kithi.

After Zhaylesa was done reading it, she grimaced. "So, this Kougra lives in Faerieland with a fire faerie named Atelmin, huh?" She looked at the note again. "There's a dark faerie who kidnapped the Shoyru? I will bet anyone my Rainwater Negg that I know why. They never liked me." Zhaylesa gathered a few of her belongings and then flew off toward the clouds.

To be continued....
