Heart of Gold: Part One

by Baloyarn

Emerging

Sure, I knew where I was... inside that infernal egg. I heard fearful, shocked voices outside. A loud bang confirmed my worst nightmare, I was hatching and my owner had fainted. Great, I thought. I had already cracked the egg's surface when suddenly the shell gave way. I was surrounded with a light brighter than the sun itself. I shook a bit as my eyes adjusted. Standing there was a Blue Kacheek with its hand upon its forehead, nodding with dismay. A blue Shoyru zoomed past me, its eyes covered. OK, first, I thought, what am I? I looked down at my shiny pelt. I'm blue and lovely. Now, what am I really?

I began to feel myself. Four ears, that means I'm an Aisha. A blue Aisha, female. Sighing in an irritated tone, I managed my first steps. Now that I have the hang of this, I thought, let's find out who these bozos are.

Without warning the Shoyru dove into the air. I leapt up, attempting a shout. It didn't work. No matter, I'll get them later. It appeared my owner was female, no doubt, and a squeamish one at that. No matter, just go to the kitchen, find a sponge and the faucet and sponge her down.

Wandering about the house was simple. I had discovered several books, toys, and food! This won't be so bad. While walking down the hallway, I accidentally got one of my ears caught on something hanging down. I struggled for a few minutes, then down came crashing a box. I instinctively knew how to open it, and to my disbelief, Neopoints!

I suddenly remembered my objective, carefully closing the box. I made my way to the kitchen, reaching for the nearest bottle of water and a towel. That will do, I thought. I made my way back to the living room where the Shoyru again bombarded me with its aerial stunts... the Kacheek still shaking its head.

I began to sponge down my owner when a sharp pain shot across my forehead. I put my hand up to it. I heard nothing, and everything went black for a few seconds. A dark figure was before me, saying, "You will pay!" I shook and the vision disappeared. I continued my task.

My owner stirred, opening her eyes. It startled me, and I threw the towel and the water, covering my eyes, ducking, and lowering my ears. I heard the Shoyru stop and the Kacheek stop. I opened my eyes again, and all were staring at me with bewilderment.

The Kacheek gripped the towel, the Shoyru rubbed her head and grasped the water bottle, the owner just sat up. Horror flashed about their faces as these little blue twinkly things surrounded me, like fireflies. I finally managed my first word, "Twinkles," I said. They immediately vanished.

My owner came up and finally patted me on the head. "That shall be your name, then. Twincklezz."

The Kacheek and the Shoyru bent over laughing. Suddenly, I was on the floor laughing too.

"Who are you?" I finally managed. Amazed at my intelligence, my owner managed a muffled, "I'm Amanda, your owner. This is Katrycia and this is Mysteey."

"Mysteey..." I managed. I was tired now. I collapsed on the floor and fell into a deep sleep.
