Cheat goes by many names in the off-line world... But I'm sure you've
heard of it, played it a few times... NeoPets has their own, extremely
fun, and rewarding version of the game.
For every level you beat, you make a rapidly growing pile of NP. If
you accuse someone, and you are correct in your assumptions, you make
10 NP, than 15, than 20, as the levels progress. If you beat a level,
you receive -hundreds- of NP. I think for the first level it is 200 NP,
or something like that. And, when you beat a level, you get one of your
opponents Battlecards, extremely rare items that you can sell in your
shop or use in the Battledome!
You start off with the first three opponents... Capara the Kyrii, who
lies constantly, Little Timmy the Tuskaninny, whom I find extremely annoying...
And Branston the Eyrie... who can be a little tough for beginners.
So, the first game I played, I lost... And, so what? I thought-I have
500 NP in the bank... So I played again... This time I won, finding it
easier than I thought... No sooner had I thought about my NP again, and
I had beat the 8th level! Hmm... I thought, thinking back... Spectre wasn't
that hard...
Well, in the second level, you play against Timmy, and Branston, and
it adds a new character on. Chuffer Bob, the Meerca. Chuffer Bob is -always-
accusing people. Almost every turn. And it gets really irritating a little
ways into the game. And just think- You are stuck with him for 2 more
levels!
The third level comes around, and you are now facing against Branston,
Chuffer Bob, and Brucey B... Now... I think Brucey is just about the most
adorable little thing... But I would never hesitate to call his bluff,
no matter how he bats those puppy dog...erm, penguin eyes... Kalora the
Kau is odd, and seems to have the same strategy as I do, which is to play
only 1 card a turn. And if you ever accuse her, make sure you are right...
She surprises you sometimes. I'm sure everyone would love to beat the
spoilt Princess Fernypoo... And it's not hard. Just keep playing the way
you would against anyone else. Agent 00 Hog, is a different story. Just
when you think that you cannot be accused, that your cheating skills are
insurmountable, he will accuse you, and you will be left with 30 cards...
(A slight exaggeration, but, it could happen.) Beating Spectre probably
will take all your cheating skills... Just to help you out, if you can't
make it, I have written the following helpful hints for playing, and mastering
Cheat!
Tip #1-In the first levels, you can get away with it... And it's what
the game is named after, but don't cheat. At least, don't in the higher
levels. If someone catches you cheating and the pile is big, it ruins
your chances of a quick game, and depletes the chances that you will win
at all. So keep your cheating to a minimum. If you have to, don't be too
daring, like, saying you have 4 Aces, when you only have 1. You could
just as easily play that 1.
Tip #2- If the pile is 0, and it is your turn, go for it. I know I just
said not to, but if you think that the others won't catch you cheating,
than do as many cards as you feel necessary-The worst that can happen
is that you will get your cards back.
Tip #3-Try not to make big gaps in your cards until the end. If you
get dealt a hand of A,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,J,Q,K, don't use your Ace, 2,
3, and 4 right away... Try to space them out.
Tip #4- Try to keep a set of 3, or a pair. At the end, When it is all
you have left, you will be thankful that you can get rid of both those
cards at once. I don't know as this saves any time, but if you get a chance
where you can play cards of any value at the end, and you have two 6's
it will be better than if you have a 6 and a 3. You could cheat, but you
would be caught.
Tip #5-Don't accuse people, unless you're certain. Say they put down
3 aces and you have 2 aces. Then it is obvious that they are cheating,
and get the money. Don't just accuse someone on a thought, or because
a passing Faerie told you to. I accused Agent 00 Hog because a Faerie
told me to, and nearly lost the game.
Final Tip-It is most likely, that when someone else goes out, that they
are cheating. If they put down more than 1 card, they are probably cheating.
And you have nothing to lose. So when someone's hand becomes 0, accuse
them. You will only beat the 8 levels if you are extremely good at Cheat,
and this game is a sure way to make -tons- of NP. I made over 5000 NP
in my first game, which pays more than your second. It is a worthwhile
attempt, because, for obvious reasons, it will also make your pet happier.
