Shoyrulan 3: The Seven Celestial Sisters

by Alliecuno

On the road again
Shoyrulan ran to the car with her friends. Khani the blue Uni dashed after her with Meerca the blue Meerca riding him. "Hurry or we'll be late," called Shoyrulan, already in the car.

"Where are we going again?" asked Meerca.

"To the airport," said Khani slyly.

Shoyrulan giggled, "We're going to Mystery Island."

When all three pets were in the car, Shoyrulan sped off like a maniac. "How in the world did you get your license?" Khani yelled over the radio.

"It pays to be famous," said Shoyrulan happily singing to the hit song 'It's gonna be she'.

The three arrived at the airport without getting in any accidents. "Where's your luggage?" Shoyrulan asked Khani.

"I don't need any," said Khani, "If I need something it's only a 15 hour flight back to my apartment."

"Is my driving that bad?" said Shoyrulan jokingly.

"Terminal 7," said Meerca.

The pets walked slowly to kill time. Khani looked at all the shops wishing he'd brought more NP. "Terminal 5," read Shoyrulan as they passed all the seats, "Terminal 5 and 3/4, terminal 6."

Meerca cut her off, "Terminal 7."

"Ahh yes, the Celestial 7."

"I've never heard of 'Celestial 7'," said Meerca.

"There's an old legend of NeoPets born in the sky called the Seven Celestial Sisters," said Shoyrulan.

"And there's another old saying that goes: No refunds for missing flights," said Khani, pointing to their plane that had arrived.

Meerca ran ahead of the without any words. Khani and Shoyrulan followed instinctively. When the three got on the plane they took their seats in first class (along with several Unis and Usuls). When the plane lifted off, the hostess, a blue Shoyru named Puma served the Neocola and onion rings, which Meerca gladly turned down.

As night fell the pets fell asleep one by one. Shoyrulan, who had the window seat, was the last asleep. When she fell asleep, her mind was awake, thinking to herself, "I could have sworn I saw a celestial light."

Khani's "Bright Idea"
Shoyrulan woke to the first morning light. She opened her eyes slowly and looked out the plane's window. "Wow," she whispered to herself as she saw the sun rise over the Mystery Island. "Khani," she said tapping her sleeping friend, "Wake up."

"I'm busy single handily defeating Dr. Sloth," he said jokingly.

"Look outside," said Shoyrulan pointing to the idol heads.

"Wow," said Khani.

Meerca woke up and looked outside too. Just then Puma walked in. "Please fasten your seat belts, we will be landing in five minutes," she said.

Shoyrulan was very excited about the coming week at Mystery Island. She had collected Codestones to use a the training arena, and she could also go on Tiki Tours, and trade her items for her favourite food, Tigersquash. The plane descended, and finally landed. Shoyrulan, Khani, and Meerca walked into the small airport in search of an exit. Meerca's eyes went bright at all the shops. "Tourist trap," Khani mumbled to Shoyrulan. He turned to look at her, only to see she was bright eyed too. "One shop, and that's it," said Khani.

"That one," said Shoyrulan, pointing left.

"That one," said Meerca pointing right.

The two girls kept pointing to different stores before they finally agreed to stop at a place called "Shoyruguy's Shop". The three pets walked in, Khani looked around and got interested in all the strange items, especially the eye ball. Meerca walked up to the counter holding an exotic item in her hands.

"The medicinal Meerca doll," gasped Shoyruguy, "Good choice."

Shoyrulan walked to the counter moments later with an item. "The Orb of Enchantment," said Shoyruguy, "Another fine choice. And for buying two items..." said Shoyruguy, "the Uni gets a map of the island for free."

Khani had Shoyrulan carried the map as the pets all walked to their hotel room. When they got there they all looked at their items. Khani unraveled his map and inspected it. "Meerca, Shoyrulan," he said, "Look!" He showed them the map.

"The Seven Celestial Sisters," Meerca read, "That isn't a map, it's a picture."

"It says spotted here several times," said Khani, "Let's look for them."

"Fine by me," said Meerca.

"If I don't have to pay," said Shoyrulan. "But how do we get up there?"

"I have an idea," said Khani, "But you're definitely not going to like it."

Team Neo Blast Off at the Speed of Light
"Well," said Khani, "We can steal a VirtuPet space ship."

Meerca and Shoyrulan stood there. "How do you propose we get a space ship?" asked Shoyrulan.

"I saw one a few miles back when we were hiking," said Khani.

"Whatever, just don't want to go to jail," said Meerca.

"Can't argue with that," said Shoyrulan.

"Let's get a move on," said Khani happily.

The trio walked through the jungle for 20 minutes before they came close to a clearing. Meerca jumped off Khani and blocked him and Shoyrulan from walking further. "There's noises in there," said Meerca.

The three pets looked into the clearing and saw VirtuPets--all mutated Grundos. "Get in the ship and wait for me," said Shoyrulan, "I'll confuse 'em so I can come back here." Shoyrulan jumped out of the bushes. When the VirtuPets saw her they ran after her. Shoyrulan simply flew into the forest.

"C'mon," yelled Khani, signaling to the ship. Meerca followed him into the small ship.

Shoyrulan flew back moments later. "Let's get a move on," she said.

"How do we make it go?" asked Meerca.

"I've flown one of these," said Shoyrulan, "I'll take the controls."

Shoyrulan pulled back on the throttle and the ship lifted off the ground slowly.

"Let's boogie, go faster," said Meerca.

"I take it this is your first space ride?" Khani asked Meerca.

Suddenly the ship booted up and flew at light speed into orbit. "Whoa," said all the pets, looking through the window at the stars.

"Uh oh," said Shoyrulan, looking ahead.

"I hope you know some fancy flying," said Khani.

"Why?" asked Meerca, who wouldn't tear her eyes off the window.

"Meteors!" screamed Khani and Shoyrulan.

"Like I said before," Meerca said , "let's boogie!!!!!" Shoyrulan flew every which way dodging the meteors as fast as she could. She dodged left to escape one only to see one ahead that she couldn't escape.

"Hold on," said Shoyrulan.

The pets winced, but did not feel impact. Then, some super fast force brought them out of the ship and onto something firm. When the NeoPets opened their eyes, they saw their ship crash, then disintegrate. Then, the pets looked forward to see many glowing female pets, seven to be exact.

Heavenly hospitality

"I am Moonshi the Aisha you see before you," said a voice in the trio's minds.

"I am Shishi the Chia, we are the Seven Celestial Sisters," said another voice.

"I am Zala the Zafara, we are communicating with thought speak," said the Zafara.

"I am Melea the Peophin," said the Peophin.

"I am Lori the Uni," said the Uni.

"I am Remissa the Shoyru," said the Shoyru.

"And I am Tala the Eyrie." said the Eyrie.

"Are you hear to visit?" asked Remissa.

"I... guess so," said Shoyrulan, looking back at her friends.

"We'll split into groups of three, and one of us will stay back to cook," said Lori.

So the Seven Celestial Sisters split up. Remissa and Zala went with Shoyrulan, Tala and Shishi went with Meerca, and Lori and Melea went with Khani. Remissa and Zala took Shoyrulan shooting star riding and Comet surfing. Tala and Shishi took Meerca Cloud diving and moonwalking. At the same time, Lori and Melea took Khani star sliding and Milky way swimming. When all the pets were done, they met back at Celest Estates, home of the seven celestial sisters.

"Where's the food?" asked Khani, "I'm starving."

"I'm sorry," said Tala, "My sister is a perfectionist, I'll go get her."

Within moments, Moonshi walked out with marvelous celestial foods. Shoyrulan busily ate Milky Way Cakes. Meerca, who had already ate all of her main course tried to reach the Celestial Cookies. Khani just figured he should skip the main course completely and eat dessert the rest of the night.

"So," said Moonshi, "What would you like to do tomorrow?"

"We actually should leave tomorrow," said Shoyrulan, realizing that everyone in their hotel would realize they'd vanished.

"How will we get back?" asked Khani.

"You may take one of our Celest ships," said Shishi.

"You can see if you can drive it tomorrow," said Melea.

"Do you think you can handle it?" asked Zala.

"Of course," said Shoyrulan, "After all, how different can it be from a VirtuPet ship?" Famous last words...

Way out of control
When all the NeoPets awoke, they ate breakfast, then, the Celestial Sisters gave each of the NeoPets uniforms for the ship. When everyone was ready they got in the star ship to test drive it.

"I call shotgun," said Meerca.

"There are three front seats," snickered Khani.

When everything was straightened out, Shoyrulan was pilot, Khani was copilot, and Meerca was...going to sit down quietly and watch them drive (Her hands were too small for the controls). Shoyrulan slowly started the ship and got used to it. After about a half hour of nearly crashing into asteroids, Shoyrulan started to get the hang of things. In an hour's time, Shoyrulan was doing tricks. Khani was the next to try to steer the ship. If you thought Shoyrulan's driving in Neopia was bad, you should see Khani in space.

It took two hours for Khani to get the hang of things. So then, Shoyrulan and Khani had to learn to steer together. Shoyrulan's style was to maneuver gracefully past every obstacle, but Khani was the "move at the last possible second" type. Shoyrulan told Khani to turn when she turned, this was a problem. The trouble started here. Unable to balance the controls, the ship swerved left at light speed, right for Celest Estates! Shoyrulan and Khani both immediately swerved upwards barely missing a tower of the large palace.

Shoyrulan and Khani now went back to their own styles of driving, causing the ship to swerve way right. This time, they weren't so lucky though. Khani and Shoyrulan swerved left, but still hit the building.

"You drive," said Khani.

Shoyrulan went down low towards the Seven Celestial Sisters. "I'm so sorry," she said.

"It's all right," said Melea, "We're just glad you weren't hurt. One of you drive back to Neopia now."

The Seven Celestial sisters all waved good-bye as their ship flew down ward towards Neopia. With Shoyrulan at the wheel, they'd be back in no time.

Home again

Shoyrulan landed the ship gracefully in a deserted area. "Let's get back to our hotel room," said Meerca.

The trio of pets walked silently back, thinking of how fun their trip was. When they got back to the hotel room, they had to decide where to go next. In the final decision, they all went to the trading posts.

"You gonna get some Tigersquash?" Khani asked Shoyrulan.

"Nope," said Shoyrulan.

Khani was shocked. "IT'S YOUR FAVORITE FOOD," he said, "THE FRUIT YOU WALKED BACKWARDS FOR A DAYS JUST TO GET A SLICE OF!!!!!!"

"My favorite food is celest cake now," said Shoyrulan.

When the three pets were done shopping, they went on the Tiki Tour. Khani bought some black sand, Meerca bought a cherry wish stick, while Shoyrulan got a toy sailboat. When the pets were exhausted, they returned to their hotel rooms.

"We still have 4 days of vacation here left," said Shoyrulan.

"What are we gonna do tomorrow?" asked Meerca.

"We'll probably end up shopping," said Khani.

"I miss Celest Estates," said Meerca.

"Me too," said Khani and Shoyrulan.

"It was sure cool to be there though," said Khani.

"And to be the first ones there too," said Shoyrulan.

"We should go back there soon," said Meerca.

"Yeah," said Khani, "I like the food."

"Khani, all you ate was desert," said Shoyrulan.

"I know," remarked Khani.

"When you two drove the ship it was scary," said Meerca.

Khani turned to Shoyrulan. "When you drove the car it was scary," he said.

Shoyrulan grabbed her pillow off of her bed and threw it at Khani.

"They sure didn't mind us crashing into their house," said Meerca.

"Yeah," said Khani, "I wonder why?"

"It's probably that they figure they can rebuild it with a snap of a finger," said Shoyrulan, "and that they don't get many visitors."

Khani and Meerca nodded their heads.

"And after all," said Shoyrulan, "To err is mortal. To forgive is divine."

The End
