Despite the category Meerca Chase was placed in (Action),
I think that is really game of luck and chance. Each game is filled with
red Neggs popping right out in front of you and the possibility of having
more red Neggs appear....but is there some strategy?
I believe there is. First, one must take into account
that no matter how well you play Meerca Chase, there is always the possibility
of getting a yellow Negg in an impossible-to-get place, or the dreaded
"Sudden Death" as I like to call it, where a red Negg will suddenly appear
right in front of you.
There are also the possibilities of getting a rainbow
or fish Negg, and no matter what the difficulty, there is always the wonderful
prize of a high score and magical Meerca toy (if you reach the score of
600 NP)!
Second, one must decide which level is right for them.
This is a key part to success, for one must be able to handle the speed
and length of tail ratio each level presents. Here are the levels and
their info:
Easy - The Meerca moves slowly but the points given are
lower. The tail still grows with each Negg retrieved though, so one must
carefully strategise as to how they are to get each Negg once one reaches
the 200 NP mark. (X3!)
Medium - This is the perfect level for me. The Meerca
moves quickly enough to keep the game interesting and the points are higher.
Speed plays a larger part at this level than the length of the tail, and
fish Neggs are worth 250 NP. (X5!)
Hard - Many find this level almost impossible. Even though
Fish Neggs are worth 400 NP here, it is hard to avoid even very small
amounts of red Neggs and one must circle-in on Neggs in order to get them.
(X8!)
Secret - By pressing the SHIFT key before starting a
game, one can play a truly impossible level! By what I've played of it,
I've gathered that half of the time the Meerca moves in the opposite direction
you tell it to....you never know what it is going to do! The points are
rewarding, if you can get one Negg! (X12!) Also keep an eye out for the
other secret level.
Now that you've chosen a level, you must play the game
itself. In order to help you do so, here are some basic tips to improve
your game and to make sure you get the most of it!
1. Never circle in on a Negg when you have a long tail!
This would be like mopping the floor and mopping yourself into a corner...your
tail will surround you and you will have no where to go! Instead, use
a box method, where you move in a square pattern, ever-so-slightly changing
course in order to pick up a Negg on your run!
2. Take your time and strategise! Because there is no
time limit, you can look at your particular situation and think of all
the different moves you can make in order to be successful. Even if the
Meerca is going fast, don't rush your decisions!
3. Get the most of your earned Neopoints! Since you can
only get Neopoints from Meerca Chase 3 times a day, why not only send
in your high scores? After playing for a while, set goals such as: I will
only send in my score if it exceeds 200 NP This way, you will get plenty
of practice and much more Neopoints!
4. Wait patiently for the big-point Neggs...I've found
that when I play about 12 times a day, I will get at least one rainbow
or fish Negg Most of my high scores come from times when I have had such
luck.
5. When the next level up seems impossible, work at it!
Soon you will be raking in the points--you could even try the next level
up from that, and maybe medium or hard won't seem so bad anymore!
