1. How to sell everything in your shop within minutes
2. How to never get negative mails
3. How to be happy with your shop and what you're doing
4. How to keep the stock-shoppers from getting all your stuff
5. Why am I doing this??
1. Sell everything quickly: Only sell exactly what everyone
wants and needs, cheap food really cheaply. That way if anyone comes in
and all your cheap food is gone, they won't say, "Aw! They only have expensive
stuff I that don't need!"
2. Mean mail? I dunno why I've seen people say they get
mean letters. I've never seen any... Maybe you should lower your prices
a bit or just flat out ignore them.
3. How to like it: When you sell stuff the way I do,
you're doing it for Neopia. ::gets really neopatriotic:: To help the little
guys and the rich ones, too. So everyone's pet can be fed and it won't
cost an arm and a leg. But then, of course, there are the ones that think
a shop is for their benefit only, for them to make money, so they can
buy more space and more things to put in there to make more money. And
when they see anything, they will get snatch it up for their shop and
mark it up ridiculously high so that when the average Neopian wants to
feed their pet, they will have to clean out their wallet. (Or wait for
the main shops to reload, of course.) And that will make them pretty cranky.
And when you are trying to sell food for those people and someone comes
and gets it to mark up for their shop, you might get pretty cranky too.
But if you think about it, it's pretty funny knowing that it will sit
in that shop going bad, and I just sold it within minutes. The longest
thing that stayed in my shop was a White Chocolate Tuskaninny for about
a day. Not the most common item.
Now you might be thinking, "You must be losing money,
or else you're the kind that says your stuff is really cheap and then
when I come in your shop it's not too much better than everyone else's!"
Well, I'll answer your last question first, and tell you how much I sell
everything for. All the stuff that I sell in my shop cost 5 or 10 Neopoints.
I already said I only sell food, so don't expect any nickel codestones
or anything! That's right, five and ten. I think that's pretty cheap.
Now for your first question; am I losing money? No. I make money playing
games, not from my shop. Think about it like this, if you buy a couple
of things of food and you feed it to your pet, you wouldn't get any points
for that. But if you put it in your shop and completely forget about what
you paid for it, then everything you get for it is profit; just because
your pet didn't eat it. Therefore, my pets eat soup, and they are perfectly
happy about it. (And actually, it helps keep them from getting spoiled!)
So I'm happy and my pets are happy, and when someone buys feeding food
from my shop, they are happy. (And when they get to buy cheap food, it
might keep them from mailing mean letters to other shops, making the expensive
shop shopkeepers happier.)
4. Oooh, those stock-shopers! When someone buys all your
stuff and puts it in their shop much more expensive, it might make you
pretty mad. You could try to stop them by asking them only to buy so much
food stuffs if they want it for their shops, but what would you do if
they didn't listen? And why tease them by showing them what they shouldn't
buy? I have started putting only one or two things in my shop at a time.
It's not very convenient for the "feeder fooder" shoppers, but
it spreads it around more, making it less likely to go in someone else's
shop, and more likely to go in someone's pet's stomach. Also you only
need a size one shop to do that.
5. Why did I write this? Because this is more likely
to be seen if I write this than if I don't! And because I've seen enough
people complain about food prices! And because maybe by doing this, I
can help others decide they want to be a Non-Evil* Shopkeeper too!
*Non-Evil Shopkeeper: The opposite of the kind that have
been described in past issues of the Neopian Times. Shopkeepers that are
not in it for the money. When they say cheap, they mean cheap! And also
very sold out; hey, there's a price for everything. Don't expect to see
anything in my shop unless you come in from the Shop Wizard. (The only
other way is through my name.)
