A Day Without Games

by kis_girl

That day will be forever etched in the mind of all Neopians: NG-Day, or No (Flash) Games Day. What was a poor Neopian like myself to do without her precious Kiko Match or Meerca Chase? The answer? Plenty, and with a profit. Here's my guide for what to do besides play games.

Underwater Kitchen: The Maraquan Chef gives out skills, items, and NP. You have to watch out, though, on how much NP you spend on his requested items: You could spend 2000 NP and get a Sketch-a-Pic (as I did). I recommend spending only up to 400 NP.

Job Agency: I did a variety of Basic Jobs, as I did not want to spend valuable NP on an expensive job coupon. After about six jobs, I had made a 2000 NP profit. I recommend having two windows open on your computer--one for looking at various jobs, and one on the Shop Wizard to quickly check if a job is beneficial or not.

Wheel of Excitement/Mediocrity: I almost always gain money on these wheels. Don't be discouraged if you get a bad spin, but also don't overuse the wheels. Only spend what is in your budget. Also, if you would land on a sickness, go to the Healing Springs in Faerieland instead of buying costly medicines, such as Neopox Pizza.

Snow Faerie Quest/Tyrannian Time Machine: Much like the Underwater Kitchen, only these don't give out skills to pets. The Snow Faerie gives NP (usually 250-950), a snowball, and an item. The Time Machine gives about 200 NP, an item, and a possible increased rank in the army. Choose which quests to complete wisely.

Bargain Hunting: I usually search for an item from 3000-10000 NP on the Shop Wizard, but do not look just in those limits. Codestones and faeries are a good bet, as you can sometimes find them very cheap. You must act quickly, though; someone else may snap them up before you.

Contests: Enter them in your free time--you can't lose (NP, that is)

Crossword: I keep two windows for this one, typing in the answers in both and also using one to find an answer if I do not know it. Type quickly, but make sure to click on the clue well, for sometimes the answer does not show up.

There are many other things to do, such as guild shopping, looking at tips and questions in the chats, playing with your pet, etc. Now you know there is more to Neopia than Flash games, and I hope you put this information to good use.
