The Battle
I carried Asrman1 back across Faerieland to where the
Uber-Darkness Faerie and her army had been heading before the Faerie Queen’s
Castle. As we flew on, Boil hovered beside us, following us, excitedly
thinking about what was to come. I thought about the weird, gray gem on
the black pedestal in the ruins that had nearly destroyed Tiya. I had
pointed it out, so Tiya had gone ahead to investigate. Less than five
minutes after she reached it, although her face was not quite visible,
she seemed to be in a trance. Then she had shrieked, and a great “black
light” surrounded her and sent her hurtling through the air. That was
when we had brought her to her sister, Mytri.
I noticed after Asrman1’s foot had barely nudged me that
we were too late, and I left my thoughts. The Uber-Darkness Faerie was
just able to be made out and she seemed to be telling a giant crowd of
Faerieland citizens something important. Among them was a tiny (not to
our surprise) Faerie Queen. We hid in yet another Cloudpine Bush and listened.
“The Darkness Orb is powering itself up and you shall
all be destroyed,” the Uber-Darkness Faerie began. “Anyone gone within
it’s property line will be destroyed… unless it is not yet powered to
the point over 50 feet… but it will reach there by tomorrow, and in two
days you will be destroyed! But we are here to rid you of your Queen of
Faeries… I, the rebel Faerie, am especially mad at her and her ‘legend’
pets! Have fun trying to find the Orb before it is too late! Ha!”
“You have no chance,” the Faerie Queen said. “Tiya the
Uber-Light Faerie already destroyed it with her new friends without knowing
it.” She then repeated, “You have no chance.”
“If you tell the truth,” the Dark Faerie continued. “…then
you will all be destroyed now. Allies: ATTACK!!!”
It was so sudden I nearly screamed, but Boil, being only
just sent forth, yelled as loud as he could. We had been spotted now,
but thanks to Boil’s scream, millions of little tiny fireballs left his
body and became one big one. He had no intention to do this--it just happened.
It just happened to be going in the same direction as three Korbats of
the Uber-Darkness Faerie’s army coming at us. They fell to the ground.
It was time to act fast, but my skin was still quite bruised and cut from
the shoulder damage. I had forgotten to ask Mytri to heal me. But Asrman1
had an idea. He took out the Glass Paint Brush we had found and started
to swipe it around my throbbing shoulder.
Suddenly there was no pain just a nice, cool feeling
with no temperature at all. I felt a little stiff, but it didn’t matter
to me. I was in some way eager for battle. When Asrman1 was done, we ran
to assist Boil in his attacks to hold off the enemies. A Shadowed Lupe
ran and ran around us, circling us. I felt ready to attack, to set this
Lupe’s tomb. Suddenly my mouth felt warm. I felt as if I had to cough.
I opened my mouth to, but instead a line of fire shot out instead. FWOOM!
I had never breathed fire before, but I had learned how without knowing,
and I had struck the fainted Lupe and six other Korbats. I noticed thousands
of regular old Faeries (meaning not-Uber) attacking, and they were not
doing to well. It was our turn to fight. Asrman1 rushed in with rage at
a row of attacking Lupes, Boil shot a rapid-fire of little bullet-like
flames at a group of enemy Gelerts, and I used my experience against the
Skeiths. It was when I was safely away from the action after a blast of
my own that had sent me flying backwards that a Faerie almost bigger than
me tapped my shoulder. I gulped – it was the Faerie Queen!
“It’s okay,” she started. “Tiya has proven herself already.
You have also proven yourself…I will give you a Bag of Infinite Neggs
to help you… you must help us all!”
“Er…” I said back. “You seem desperate, so I won’t…stay
long…” With that, I shyly grabbed the Bag of Infinite Neggs and ran back
into the battlefield. I opened it up and grabbed out a Healing Negg. Instantly,
another one appeared where it had been before I took it out. I ate it
and my wounds healed. Spotting a close band of enemies, I jumped back
into action…

The battlefield was silent. No more enemies remained.
Tiya and Mytri were nowhere in sight, and the Faerie Queen was way to
the far end of the cloud watching, waiting.
“Hahahahahahaha! Muahaha! MUAHAHAHA!” I nearly fell back
in astonishment, for the sound was louder than anything I had ever heard,
and it echoed nearly one hundred times before the sound faded. It was
the voice of a female’s…
“I’m ready, you guys!” I yelled.
“Ready for what?” said the Darkness Faerie. “Ready to
be defeated? What kind of chance do you think you have against me, little
Shoyru? You have no power.”
“I do too have power!” I raged.
“What? You think touching my orb was ‘power’?”
“H-h-how’d you know?”
“Yet another dumb obstacle. Do you think it wouldn’t
tell me?”
“T-tell you?”
“Well, I guess you are just another dumb obstacle.”
“Not an obstacle – a nemesis! I’ll defeat you!”
“You? You defeat me?”
I sighed. She was using her self-pride and “great” position
to discourage me.
“You can do it, Puntuli!” I turned. It was Hounder, who
was watching from the ground with Asrman1, Boil, the Faerie Queen, all
of the Uber-Faeries and several other normal ones, and the whole army.
“Pun-Tuh-Lie!” They started. “Pun-Tuh-Lie! Pun-Tuh-Lie!
PUN-TUH-LIE!”
The tiny bit of discouragement that was left vanished
from my soul. I was ready, ready to defeat the Darkness Faerie!
I held the bag of Neggs tight and rushed in. I grabbed
the Darkness Faerie, who shrieked, and also caused the Bag of Infinite
Neggs to fall. But instead of landing on the fluffy cloud, it missed and
fell down heading for the Neopian Ocean. What could I do?
“BOIL!”
“Huh? Wha-?!” he gasped so loudly that I could hear him
from my distance. Then he yelled: “Oh, right! I-I-I’m coming!”
How the Darkness Faerie was defeated was more out of
clumsiness than combat. She had still been squeezed in my hand when I
had called Boil up. I hadn’t noticed her struggling to get free. When
I finally did, Boil was about two thirds of the way up and she had just
escaped. I was just about to grab at her when Boil came rushing, or rather
floating extremely fast, to my side. Of course, he had clumsily not taken
aim and was rushing at me from behind. In fright of being hit, I flapped
out of the way, distracting me from grabbing the Darkness Faerie. I gaped
in horror at a Boil without “built-in brakes”. He rammed into the Darkness
Faerie, who was somehow conjuring a spell while ignoring us, and had just
opened some kind of portal. She turned around from it and Boil was flying
at her. It was obvious she had meant to trap me in the portal, but after
Boil’s “rush hour tactic”, she got to go instead.
That was just one of our many adventures, and the others
include the Snowager, a list of riddles, and many, many more…
